Thats because Dark PA has inverted mms app which doesn't include quick repky.
Better use black bean aokp's inverted mms app(has quick reply).

[Req]Get rid of quick reply in cm10

So my old thread has been closed, no resolution. Disabling quick message does nothing as the quick reply button still shows up in the notifications, that's what I'd like to get rid of.

try flashing a different version of gapps (something made after the 7/26 we all use)
for example, I use Justinbeans inverted gapps and, because they are not based on cm, i dont even have the option for quick reply
just a thought

hahah
gapps has NOTHING to do with the messaging app..
look around in themes and apps.
some people like to theme the cm messaging app.
im positive you can get an older version

Download an old CM10 Nightly from about a week ago and yank out that mms.apk it shouldn't have quick reply since that's a new feature.

Cm MMS.apk

Does anyone know where I can find the MMS.apk from cm with the quick reply feature that I can flash/install on stock 4.2
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
You can probably just extract it from one of the CM10 based ROMs.

I use this MMS.apk it doesn't force close when sending pics because it is 4.2 so it is a go! works great on aokp and other 4.2 Roms

Hello,
This apk work fine but I prefer the stock version for the white background ... is there a way to add just the quick reply options without altering the original application? Or the same apk but with the stock theme ?
In all cases, thanks!

Just download the CM10 zip and pull the MMS.apk out, it'll be white.
I really wish someone would build a third-party MMS app with the CM10 features that could be installed normally/without root. Seems like a great baseline for an awesome SMS app.

[Q] Possible to install AOSP Messaging app on TouchWiz ROM?

Hi all,
After trying out CM10.1, I've found it to be a little too unstable at this early stage and have flashed back to Wanamlite. I can live with TouchWiz for now, but the one app on TouchWiz I really can't stand is the Messaging/SMS app.
Is it possible to flash an AOSP/vanilla version of the Android messaging app onto my phone?
Would it need to replace the TouchWiz one, or would it work side-by-side with it?
Where could I get an up to date AOSP SMS app?
Any help would be great!

Thanks mate I saw that - but seems to have a few bugs at present. Was wondering if it was possible to get the app another way.
Its possible. It replaces the tw version. There is one in themes/apps section for the sprint s3. You have to push the file to system/app. Rename it and set perm.

Works a treat. A little bit different to the steps they advised though; putting mms.apk in the system/app folder with the correct permissions wouldn't work - I could put it in there, but the application wouldn't actually load when rebooted.
I then tried installing it as an APK, but no go; Android said there was another system app installed. So I moved secmms up one level, rebooted into recovery, fixed permissions, and now it's fine.

Hi All,
Try this version. I took this from the S3 AOSP Codec ROM which is version 4.0.4~ish. Works great on my S3 (GT-I9300) with XXELL4 ROM 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
It has:
- Dark theme (4.2 theme I think)
- Emoticons
- emojis

it needs to be a system app so copy it over to /system/app and set ownership and permission as root:root 644/rw-r-r
Thank you winuxguy, I've copied the app, but I don't really understand the root:root 644/rw-r-r...
Can you explain this a little bit more please?

Thanks man, works great
possible to make a single .apk out of this?
So the problem is that I lost root after the 4.3 update and I'm waiting for the root to pop up on the forum. But in the mean time wouldn't it be better to just make a .apk so that we all can install it like a regular app. Kinda like an update apk of the mms. What I mean is that you know how Google maps are preinstalled in the system and when an update comes up on play store, it just disables the built in maps and uses the newer maps when we open maps. That new maps apk sits outside the ROM and can be removed or installed anytime without needing root and at the same time adds new features.

Regular app (/data/app) requires its own signature and the way of the update as you say needs the congruence of the signatures.
