i am using ics final build and using .62 firmware and lupusv9 and the battery is really draining.
it has used 50% overnight with nothing running,
I have tried calibrating and still the same.
Anyone else got this problem?
I got 5% per hour when at wifi.
Kernel related prob.

What kernel would people recommend?
Thanks
That kernel ROM developer recommends.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Did you check what apps or services are eating more battery? You can check that in the settings app.
The developer recommends all kernals.
On battery usage Cell standby is the most and screen following.
Look at the developer's signature, you will find the suitable kernel

Thanks m8
What kernal do people recommend and also I am using baseband 62 is that ok or should I be using something else?
Okay. Use kernel that rom developer recommends. Already answered lol.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
But the developer recommends all kernels so I didnt know which one to use that will help with battery problem.
Oh god.
For example: Xperia NXT says "Recommended kernels: Lupus, Doomkernel"
OBVIOUSLY, the kernel names are clickable which means that you can flash what you want i dont care.
Enought?

That why i was asking what people recommend
You could try underclocking. It seems to really help me.

Would underclocking deprove performance significantly? That's what I'm most concerned with.
If only there's a good tutorial on undervolting
I'm on markpython's stock 4.0.4, LuPuS v9 with smartassv2, 1ghz. Battery drain is insane.. (~15%/hour 3G)

I dunno about ICS, but on GB I can smoothly use my Play for most tasks at 460MHz max (even a good few games, since they use the GPU more than the CPU)
You should try to undervolt your CPU. It's a better solution than underclocking.

Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
I don't have a clear idea but I assume that the battery counter on your phone is wrong in comparison to the actual battery % so what I did was turn off my phone and remove the battery for a few seconds and then put it back in and turn on my phone, it usually shows that my battery is lower than what the counter said.
So you mean I have to re calibrate my battery?

I was using stock ROM until about 2 weeks ago. Then I installed CM9 and I noticed a huge difference in battery life. I tried ParanoidAndroid today and it's the same story here. I'd suppose that since it's based on CM9 it has the same flaws.
I read though, that some guys are using CWM patches to "improve" battery life. Worth looking into, if you're not considering going back to stock ROM.
Yeah... After a few days ago i'am using stock rom. And I got better battery life, rooted no cwm, voltage control & juice defender. I have about 12-16 hours.
Compare with custom rom before, I never get more than 10 hours battery life.
But stock rom have less animation than custom rom.

You can try reducing brightness, and uninstall apps like juice defender etc. Such apps cause something known as "wakelocks". Just use this guide to find out which apps cause wakelocks - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433309
I've been getting decent battery life with Qualcomm's official app for Snapdragon processors:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiam.snapdragon.app
Also adjust screen brightness, when you're in doors around 25% and out doors more. Generally 25% works fine for me everywhere.
Make sure to check your ROMs recommended profiles for the best battery life.
