I'm going to Vegas next week and would really like to have a city map on my phone. Does anyone know of a free source of city maps which look good on the TP2?

Something other than Google Maps? I mean what more would you want besides maps, aerial photos, the ability to search for points of interest? Show my location, show on the map all of a certain category near my location. You might find something else, but you won't find something better.
The only problem with Google Maps is the need for a data connection. With the ludicrous cost of US data roaming I was planning to avoid it!
Since I assume you know you will be roaming, you are stuck with buying (or getting pirated) a GPS program. I have both Garmin and iGo and they both look/work fine. iGo has a 3D mode with 3D wireframe buildings, if that sounds exciting, with substantial detail in Vegas (just brought it up and "drove" in front of the Luxor).
I am thinking to buy a navigation system for my car, but before I buy it I though to ask is there any good navigation program worth buying for touch pro 2?
I see that many people have problems with wvga and older navigation software such as tomtom etc.
So is there any software 100% compatible with tp2 and is it worth buying it instead of car navigation system.
Thank you
If you are on Sprint, the Sprint navigation works perfect IMO. I also use google for navigation.
I forgot to add that I don't have data plan anymore, so I will be looking at something as tomtom.
I've been using CoPilot Live for several years -- it's pretty damn good, especially considering its price. They have frequent map updates, and promise quick (45 days, IIRC) turnaround on any map updates you submit.
I've also tried Navigon -- their maps are pretty good, but I haven't been able to get the turn-by-turn directions to work, not that I've spent a lot of time trying.
Hey 3waygeek, thank you for the tip.
I went to copilot site and for tp2 gives me 2 options:
CoPilot Live 7 North America $29.99
CoPilot Live 8, North America Maps $29.99
So which do I need ( I hope not both)
Thank you
I'd go for CoPilot Live 8 -- it's the most recent version, and the one I've been using the last year or so.
Note that CoPilot can use a data connection to get live traffic updates; if you don't want to use data, you should be able to turn the traffic update capability off. You may also want to turn off the AGPS; it tends to open a data connection when you use GPS.
Let's get a list of known good and bad (in your experience) Sprint stores with addresses for other people need to get their phones serviced. Explain why you were there and why you do or don't recommend them.
I don't have any cuz I haven't had to return any phones or get anything serviced. I will have some input tonight though when I go to take my phone in because of jacked up /data partition.

This place has some great people, that will really work with you to get you that phone you want/need. Just don't piss them off or annoy them.
We only have one corporate store left in town (actually in all of North Alabama I think) and they do a pretty good job of being informed, courteous and helpful.
The store is located:
Madison Square Mall

My favorite location when it was still a corporate store is now a third party dealer. In all honesty I've only been in once to drop off a couple of devices for recycling so I haven't dealt with them or seen anyone I used to deal with in days past. However I have no reason to believe they aren't still a good place to go for (non-corporate) Sprint needs.

An official sprint store I love would be the one off of carmel valley road next to oggis in san diego I will update with address later. I have never ever had any problems with them. They are freaken awesome. I go out of my way to visit that store when I need anything like a refurb or whatever.

The ones I've visited in Tampa are okay (Northdale & South Tampa). They're not pushy sales wise and seem eager enough to help when you have an issue. When the Evo was launched the line outside was treated to snacks and water for the wait, and it was handled very professionally... The Epic Touch launch I was the only one in the store ....
I always stop by a Sprint store on my way to work and school when I use to go... It was and still is a very good Sprint store. They might not be able to give you a device on the spot if your current one has issues but they will order you a replacement.. I've taken many phones with a custom recovery install and S-OFF.. no issue with that!

This place is solid. (service center) Last visit was to get my og epic power button fixed. They swapped it out for a new one when they couldn't fix it. They take care of your device within the warranty year (my experience) They also treat loyal customers as you would expect.

Awesome. I hope they retained some of the people who worked there for Sprint. Hands down some of the best customer service/sales people I've ever encountered.
I'll have to pay them a visit and see who might still be there.

I was really considering going there until I saw it was at upstate ny
REALLY upstate ny
Not a small distance
I guess I'm going to deal with the crappy stores in NYC
Anyone with experience in NJ?

I have found that the service centers are usually more helpful than just a dumb old store, usually. I've had several problems dealt with efficiently at the service center in Kennesaw GA, on the north side of Atlanta.
And stay away from radio shack or the generic mobile store with a sprint sign in the window.

There are three full service Sprint stores here in Tulsa, but the only one worth going to is at:
5336 E. 41st St.
Tulsa, OK 74135
The customer service is great and the staff seems to be very knowledgeable. The one time I had to use TEP, they bent over backwards to help me. BTW, do NOT go to the E. 71st St. store in Tulsa - very rude employees.
The repair store in Rocky Hill, CT is great. Guy knew I was rooted and just asked me to Odin back to stock before coming in so he could rule out external software. The store in Newington, CT on the Berlin Tpke is also pretty good for size, selection and knowledge. The South Windsor store by Panera and the high end aquarium store is also pretty good. For purchasing new contract phones I like to use the Best Buy Mobile at the Buckland Mall.
So I been using google wallet and and I like it anyways I saw the Texaco wasn't listed on the pay pass app locator but they have it tho. I have use it and it works! The only thing is that a few times they have asked me if I could show them ID with the card(phone ) . Have this happened to you guys and if it did what did you do? And what other places have pay pass that are no listed ?

Best buy, Hess gas stations, some 7-11's...just look for the symbol on their credit/debit machine. As far as id goes, id show it just as a gesture of good will, but in all reality they don't have anything to check it against do they? Its not like your name or address shows up when you use google wallet.

home depot has pay pass
Almost all vending machines I see these days have pay pass. Best Buy, 7-11, Foot locker, Home Depot, Some Fry's Foods, CVS, Walgreens(some), McDonalds. I never used vending machines before I had Google Wallet and I never went into a McDonalds before now.
there is an app on the store from mastercard that will show you places that accept it as well but it is far from complete
So, Google Wallet doesn't work and the hacked APK from Modaco won't either. There also doesn't seem to be any replacement app in the Play Store.
Any of you fab people got any solutions? I'd rather like to get all Hogwarts with my small payments.

I'm the same. I really want to start using nfc to make payments in stores. Not many of my friends can afford an nfc capable handset at the moment and therefore I can only really use nfc tags and set up an access point to us my nexus 7 using nfc. Come on google!!

As of the end of this week we (people outside the USA) would have almost no way to add credit to Google Wallet anyway. Google are removing the pre-paid cards.
There are virtually zero stores in the UK that use contactless payments anyway... We're still a few years away from it becoming mainstream really.
Oyster probably works, but there's no way in hell I'd get nu N2 out anywhere in London's public transport system!

Your joking right? I live in Essex and regularly travel to London and loads of shops both locally and in London accept it these days!
Every Mcdonald's, Greggs and Boots in the country should accept them now
90%+ of Post Offices accept them
Many Costa, Starbucks, Pret etc accept them
Many other restaurants (e.g. Nandos at the O2 Arena) accept them.
You might be right to say that the UK as a whole is not completely ready but London definitely is, and there are certainly enough options to make it useful outside of London too.

Think you're right. I'm seeing more all the time. I don't understand why Google is being so slow to get this started, out if the US at least.

Not everyone lives on McDonalds, coffee, dodgy sandwiches and cough syrup.
Until is in all stores everywhere, it's of limited use.

Agreed, even my dad's off licence accepts contactless payments, and that's a pretty small business.
Well, perhaps that's the case in London or other cities, but it sure isn't where I live, and I'm only 35 miles from London.
I have done futher searching. It has not gone well. The best I can manage at rbe moment is to photograph a tenner and exchange it with my daughter's S3.
