Has anyone been able to set up Gizmo VOIP on AT&T's 3G? I have tried everything and cannot get it to connect. Gizmo and VoipStunet works fine on WiFi; also, VoipStunt CONNECTS on 3G but doesn't work properly. Is AT&T blocking Gizmo and if so is there any way around it? I've considered Fring but the lack of DTMF support renders it useless with Grand Central... and the Gizmo5 Midlet seems like a dirty attempt to play into the hands of the service providers (i.e.- AT&T)...
Any advice??
[EDIT] BTW-using Schap's 4.3
Sounds crazy, I know you've already tried it, but....
Proxy is off if using wap.cingular?
ISP setup is isp.cingluar to get a real ip (not 10.whatever...)
Ive used the wap.cingular for everything but that and have had no problems
(slingbox, orb, etc.)
I only use wap.cingular. With no prxy obviously.
I, too, have been able to use everything else with no problem.... but cannot figure this one out...
What softphone do you use? Here is some softphone to try, I test them all on my hermes. They are all working.

Exactly what symptoms / behavior occurs when you try to dial VOIP over AT&T's data connection? Does it connect? What's the error message? Can you NOT send / receive audio?
This seems like a common issue. So far I haven't found anything decisive in the forums to indicate anyone is successfully using VOIP with AT&T's data network (Edge or 3G) on the Hermes. That is, when using the integrated phone dialer.
Even when the same VOIP configuration works with WiFi, for whatever reason it fails on AT&T's network. When I had the Wizard I did have this working with a Faria ROM. But since switching to the Hermes I've had no success. I don't really think it has anything to do with AT&T blocking any services, ports, traffic. I'm almost certain of it since VOIP will work on AT&T's network if you use a 3rd part VOIP application like SJPhone or XLite.

Tested all 3 of them and, while they can make calls, none of them ring/receive incoming calls...weird...
So nothing at all??
Hello fellow TP2 owners.
Today I switched from cablevision back to Verizon Fios. In doing so, I no longer need to use my router along with the Optimum online modem (As Fios' modem comes equipped with 5 ports and Wifi already.) Okay, so everything went ok with my laptop and PS3, but now my TP2 does not use the Wifi properly.
It can see the signal and it even says I'm connected after I input the WEP key. The problem comes when I try to use the data connection. Opera 10 Beta and Skyfire or anything data based says "connection not available blah blah blah". I forgot to add that my 3g does work ok. When I manually disable the Wifi, my data works ok, just slower obviously. Im missing the wifi speed in the house right now.
Does anyone know what it could possibly be? Thx guys/gals
Did you disable the proxy? I can't get Opera or IE to use Wifi, but Skyfire does just fine on it.
no I did not disable the proxy. Im fiddling with it again today, but I am really confused as to why this is happening.
I have no T-Mobile tower reception at work, and was looking forward to the wifi calling capability to come to the rescue with this new phone/service. Unfortunately, my work wifi requires a proxy-serverort for browser connection, and once I update the wireless connection with these settings - I am able to browse fine.
Regardless of the wireless signal strength, the WiFi Calling status states : Poor WiFi signal, before timing out with REG99 error - unable to connect. I have also noticed on this phone and the HTC EVO 4G, that while on wifi at work, my download speeds (via speednet) are high (>10mbps), but nothing shows up in the upload section.
Given the above, and knowledgeable of the fact that my corporate network does shut down access to other ports - is there any workaround to enable wifi calling behind a proxied network? I have even tried to add a new APN to include the proxyort to no avail.
wifi calling from the home network works without any issues, and yes i am rooted.
TIA for any help.
Found the solution. Turns out that accessing the proxied wireless network was the root cause of the issue. We also have access to a guest network, that interestingly does not require a proxy connection to the outside world, and that works perfectly fine!
Still unanswered then, is what ports does this phone require that are being blocked by the proxy server?
I would also like to know the answer to this. I do not have access to another wifi server to test this. What is weird though is that my Sensation that I just got rid of had no issues with wifi calling on the same network, explain that!
Hey, everyone. Hopefully someone out there will be able to help me resolve this issue. They have once before, but I just can't find the thread that the solution was posted on. My problem is this:
I have an unlocked, GSM Galaxy Nexus on the T-Mobile $70 unlimited plan. When I turn on my tether, it will connect to my computer, but it will not give me access to the internet at all. What's different this time around is the fact that there isn't an upsell message presented to me anymore like it used to be when I tried tethering. Now, my computer just connects and says "limited connection"/"no internet access". I know it's not the ROM I'm using (CM11KitKat by @PlayfulGod) because everyone else seems to be tethering just fine. It's not my computer either; I've tried connecting to other devices (phones, tablets, even other computers) and it's no internet access on them either. So I know it's the T-Mobile block on tethering. Last year, when I encountered this issue, I was told to use PDAnet+ along with some other app (with some weird, foreign name) to hide my data traffic. That helped me bypass just fine. My issue now is that I don't recall that foreign app's name in order to download it. It worked perfectly, and I need that again to see if it'll work. Can anyone help me figure this out, or even offer up another working solution?
Btw, that foreign app worked by pinging my phone's IP or data (or whatever) to another country or another place in general. I guess it did that to mask my data traffic. T-Mobile can't block something that's not in America.

Ive been using autoprime tether for months now but ever since last week when i try to use my laptop with it, the tmobile website shows up saying i used up my hotspot data. My tablet connects to and works just fine. I was on 10r...now im on 10c and reinstalled primetether but i have the same problem. Could it be tmobile found me?
I started using PDANet for Bluetooth tethering, and it shows as hotspot as well. Not sure why T-Mobile doesn't allow Bluetooth tethering seeing as though it appears they can still meter it.
Yes I am having the same problem. The tethering mod doesn't seem to be working anymore. Does anyone know what's up?
