Question for anyone smart... I have 4 extra Hyperion batteries... could I carefully wire them all together to make a very long lasting massive battery pack?? Basically piggy back them all together and not run the factory back plate (make a ugly custom backplate with a bump to fit them?) Any input would be great !! Thanks

Uh...In theory I'm sure this could work but I don't think this would actually be a good idea. Why not just keep them charged and use them as backups?

If you have four 1000mah battries and connect them together you Will not have a 4000mah battery, it will still be 1000mah. But it will hold a 3.7volt charge for longer. Especially when playing 3d games.

mAh is a unit of energy. Four batteries hold four times the energy of one battery, so - wired properly - four 1000mAh batteries would indeed form an effective 4000mAh battery.
I don't know anything about li-ion charging circuitry, but my gut instinct is that trying to tie phone batteries in this fashion is a bad idea. If you really wanted to try it, though, you'd wire each individual connector on one battery to the SAME connector on the others - thus, you get the same voltage across the "superbattery", just with four times the cells powering them.
Check this out it might help with what you're looking to do. I did it and it functions a little weird but I think it's because I kept both control modules on there so I'll get weird things like a jump in percentage if I don't use the phone which leads me to believe that 1 battery might be charging the other. Again check it out

You wont get 4000mah battery using four 1000mah batteries. All you will have then is a very strong VOLTAGE which has nothing to do with current. You can not add current, only voltage. I drive around with RC cars and fly electric RC planes. I know my batteries.
I can explaine this in way more details but i dont think there is room here for everything.

Two 4 ohm subs connected in series would be 8 ohms not 4. You've got it backwards. Two 4 ohm subs in parallel would be 2 ohms.

Battieres in series will increase voltage, batteries in parallel will not.

I just installed MIUI (2.8.10 version) and noticed that the device gets REALLY hot when using it for a little bit of browsing and sending text messages.
Now as much as I know it is caused by the newest Build of HTC, therefore every other ROM that is based on the newest release of HTC suffers from this heat development.
Can anyone give me some feedback how this heat development is on other ROMs like the Android Revolution ROM or any other sense-based ROM?
Are the CM9/CM10 based Roms also affected by this issue? Maybe a better kernel can solve this? If yes.... any recommendation? --> looking for low temperature and long battery life... not interested in OC.

What? People are saying heat is the cause of the latest official firmware (2.17)? I've browsed on ARHD rom today for around 30 minutes early this morning and to be honest i was astonished by how great the heat management is. The highest i've had my HoX reach with browsing, texting and calling on version 2.17 is 36 degrees Celsius. Simply amazing!

Yep, that really is amazing. I'm sitting in my office (it's an air-conditioned room, so not very hot) and my HOX just lays there in front of me and is at 40.8 °C. Just from lying there and doing nothing.
So therefore to get better (lower) temperature we need to use pre 2.17 ROMs? I hope that HTC will fix this soon!

On Sense 4.0/4.1 and EvolutionHD, i notice very hot HOX under regular work. Ok i understandi it's quad ~ 1.5, but can some lighter ROM decrease temp, or what use to simply undervolt CPU (maybe GPU) at all stages? I don't have plan to underclockit and make it slower.
When udervolt my phone only get hot when charging and usin when of charge I can use it as much as I like and hardly gets warm and battery life better and I haven't lost any performance

Hi All
I have been using HTC wildfire for almost 2 years now but for past 6 months battery has started having issues.
I was told by my friend that Froyo has had battery issues and to root my phone and install GB on it.
After rooting and install GB Galaxy Nexus by JM (ICS STYLE MOD) , my performance much better but the battery has gotten worse. It does not charge over 67% ( left it on charging over night/phone turned off)
Even with 67% charge, it drops down to 40% after 4 to 5 text messages in 10 minutes and it drops to 20 if take a call for 7 to 10 minutes. If I dare to download a app or leave my mobile data on it goes down to 10% in 20 to 30 mins.
I read on other forums that if the phone is running older version of recovery it could cause battery issues but my phone is running recovery version 4
I also read that a few say that they had to change the motherboard to fix the battery issues.
I have tried:
Juice Defender
batter saver
Super aTool Box-cache battery
Battery Dr saver+a task killer
I have stopped using apps on my phone. I only use my phone call and text but I still need to charge it 10 times a day.
I cleared the battery cache in recovery but no change in fault.
please help!!!
Is there a known issue with the phone that I'm not aware off.Any thing else that I can try before replacing motherboard or battery.
Thanks in advance
As you said- your battery is 2 years old, so i think that you could buy new one my battery is also very old (i have my WF for 2 years) and also have problems with battery ): even new custom roms didn't help. Only way i think is to buy new battery
It's your battery, I would go on ebay and find a good quality battery for your phone, a OEM or even an extended battery would be good. Battery's last a long time but after daily use for 2 years it wears them out. Hope this helps

Try to install Gsam Battery Monitor and see in the menu "App Usage" if there is an app that is draining the battery.
i had the same problem, and bought a new extended battery, and nothing has changed....after 12+ hours charging it never goes over 80%, and in about 6h-7h of minimum use is under 10%...does anyone know how to fix this?
Somebody posted months ago that they had taken there's back to HTC who said it was a fault on the motherboard, they replaced the board I think and his problem was fixed.

Well that's revealing thanx for the important info
Currently on Slim's JB 2.5.0 and with only WiFi and screen on 3/4 brightness I manage about 2.5 hours at most. What can I do to improve this abysmal battery life? I'm loving stock JB (never thought I'd say that) but not loving the battery life that's inherited also.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Possibly the battery issues are due to a rogue app, so check that first with something like better battery stats if you haven't already
Could also just be that they're unofficial(not htc source) jb. Not sure how much of a difference it makes, I assume that the ics ones being based on official source, would likely have better battery than the new jb roms. Not 100% on that but you could always do a nandroid backup, try an ics rom (venom with faux or francos kernel recommended) and see if it's better. If you don't like it just restore backup, flash the previous jb kernel and done

hi
for me coredorid is the best it give great battery life i get around 2 days with min use and a little of data i dont get much drain in the night and i dont off my phone it is on 24/7 :good::laugh:
I find that turning 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' to 'Only when when plugged in' in WiFi advanced makes a big difference. If you are using your phone Wi-Fi stays turned on. If you're not, when the phone sleeps, so does your WiFi. As soon as you wake your phone the Wi-Fi comes back on, so it really doesn't effect much

i agree, the only difference to watch out for, is how much battery the mobile internet would use in comparison, i *think* that the wifi is generally said to use less battery than mobile internet, but maybe this depends more on the signal strength etc
Keeping screen brightness low and wifi, mobile data, BT etc. off helps, but..

Hey skelly,
I'm on Slim's JB 2.5 as well with ncx 7.5 kernel and I'm getting about the same battery life as you (assuming the 2.5 hours you're talking about is screen time ).
For me, it's more than enough to get through the day. Charge at night, then wake up and repeat.
If battery life is important to you, I suggest going back to ICS with Sense first as I get about 2 days batt life with about 4-5 hours screen time. Some ROMs I've had great success with are ARHD and OrDroidX.
I honestly haven't seen anyone post that they're using a JB rom and have had more than or equal to 3 hours of on screen time.
Thanks, everyone.

Oh so JB ROM's are known for their shoddy battery life? I thought it'd be the opposite lol. I'll give both those ROMs a shot at one stage or another, thanks. Where the significant drainage is is usually on my daily commute on the bus: brightness around 85%, music playing reading reddit with data turned on. Usually drains about 20% in around 15-30mins.
The length of time it takes to actually fully charge is a whole different subject, takes soooo long.

currently I am on Stock kernel and now planning for installing custom kernel.
But I am little bit confuse about Kernel...
First of all I am new and I have no Idea about Kernels...
I need kernel for battery life , smooth and for performance purpose...
So suggest me the BEST kernel for my Note II
or should I stick on Stock ????
Is very difficult to judge which is the best. It seems a lot of note2 user using perseus kernel as it contain st tweaks and good battery performance.
By the way, myself always stick with stock kernel which has been highly recommended by the rom dev for stability purpose.

I've tried them all and keep coming back to Perseus.
I don't overclock or undervolt (although I used to with my S3) as in my mind the device is plenty fast enough anyway.
Perseus is rock solid for me and battery life is fantastic. Plus you get the option of fast USB Charging, Audio enhancements etc.
Another vote for Perseus kernel
2 vote for Stock Kernel
2 Vote for Perseus kernel
Now again confused
I'm a bit confused, why don't u try each kernel for 1 week or so?? Preference, usage and apps installed are different for everyone. It's ain't hard to change kernel. I was on xperia x10 and let me tell u, it's a pain to change as need to flash through computer. Now it's damn easy on note2.
Mod kernel is always better than stock or else no one would spend their time to come out with a better kernal. My vote goes to perseus kernal.

I'm using perseus with no problem.

Perseus works fine for me, battery life similar to stock. For performance, you can OC the CPU to 1.8Ghz and the GPU to 800Mhz. Also it can changes the charging current, tweak the audio and calibrate the screen, which is a plus for me.

Even if you set it to 1700mA, the phone cannot draw more power than the usb port (i.e. 500mA for a normal USB port). If you charge it via your computer, it is normal to take around 6, 7 hours. The charger for Note II is 2A, that's why it charges in less than 4 hours for me.

I managed to get my hands on an unopened GNex from the Playstore. It's just going to be a backup phone for the house in case someone breaks theirs.
I have a couple simple questions:
1) Are there nay extended batteries that fit with the stock back door?
2) Looking around I see people saying 4.1 tends to be the most smooth on the GNex. Is there a kernel out with the new GPU drives that works with 4.1?
3) IF I do any over clocking what can I expect? I've owned a Nexus 4 before so I'm very familiar with a Qualcom 1.4GHz, but not the 1.2 in the GNex. If its not work OCing the Gnex, then I wont even bother.
4) Just out of curiosity are there any good/stable AOSP 4.4/4.4.4 images working for the GNex?
5) If so how is the battery?
I'm just looking for ways to possibly Maximize battery life on it with out getting to far away from the stock/Nexus experience.
I'll be looking around to try and answer a few of these myself but In my experience its always faster to ask also
Thanks Guys!
1) The 2100 mA official battery *should* fit.
2) Nope, the updated gpu drivers are KitKat only. But to be honest. Try KitKat and I think you will be statisfied.
3) Well if you overclock the battery will last less longer. And the chip will wear out faster. And you will gain some performance. It depends on how much you overclock.
4) Yes! All the 4.4 roms are stable. But they are still custom roms with bugs.. Some people have problems soms dont. If you want maximum stability flash the Factory image.
5) The battery life is decent. 1750 mA is not a lot but it lasts about a day with normal use.
