CM9/CM10 Keyboard Light - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've run stock rooted on my Epic since I've had it, but decided to try out the new CM ROM. In stock you're able to set the keyboards light timeout to be the same as screen timeout, is there any way of doing this in Cyanogen?

Ifs someone took the time to write it into cyanogenmods framework

Well that's unfortunate..

Stopping screen timeout when under power

Sprint SPH-L710
rooted and running Blazer 1.6 Rom
I have not been able to set up this phone to stay alive when under power. It makes it nearly useless as a GPS. I think this is an ICS issue more than the phone but nevertheless, I would still like the option.
Now I do have several apps that can keep the phone lit but that is another matter. Any ideas?
You can try this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.k2.no.screen.off

Cm7 dropped keys and swype issues.

So I'm running cm7 with nyan kernel and when I type on my keyboard it sometimes misses a character. Is this kernel related would flashing another kernel fix it? I remember this was a problem back on froyo and there was the flashable zips to fix it but I haven't seen anything like that in a while.
Also, I restored a backup of my swype keyboard (the blue one from most of the tw themes) and it works perfectly, but everytime I reboot I get all these FC's on it and it doesn't go away until I restore "app only" in tb. Its not that big of a problem but its annoying. Is there any way to get rid of that? I believe it also is a cm7 related issue since it didn't happen to me on tw or cm9.

I've had a similar problem with CM9 Nightly on Nyan ICS. Once I unrooted back to stock using ODIN and rooted again (clean install) with the same ROM, with a different kernel this time, my keyboard seemed to run smooth.
My keyboards problem was it would disappear outta the blue.. I had to exit out of my messaging app completely, sometimes even thatt wouldn't do it.
Hope that helps somehow!

I currently went back to tpr so if I go back I will try to flash a different kernel cuz I was also using nyan kernel so maybe that would help. Thanks.

[Q] Auto correct no longer works after jb update

I'm just curious as to how many people are having auto correct issues since the jb release? It doesn't work at all. It shows suggestions to my words but hitting space bar no longer automatically inputs the word.

Had to resort to SwiftKey for a keyboard with a working auto correct. Garbage that I may have to spend some money for a working keyboard because of a bug but we'll see when the trial is over

Having the same problem. Think I'll either revert back to ICS or start looking into custom ROM's.
Disappointing.
Surprisingly SwiftKey keyboard has an amazing auto correct, comparable if not better than the stock keyboard. Not sure how long the trial period is but I will end up buying it if I have to. Give it a try before spending time flashing or reverting to ics.

You are going to leave JB or flash custom roms because the sammy autocorrect doesn't work? Try out a few keyboard and you may like those rather than using the terrible sammy keyboard. AOSP 4.2 is pretty nice. free in the play store or you can get the actual APK and also have the swype gestures.

random Red flashing boarder on i747 after update over the air to 4.1

I just updated my phone yesterday, and im having two issues. The main issue is the flasshing red boarder around the entire screen the appears mostly when switching apps, going home, and turning on/off. It even happens during the boot-up.
Second, my keyboard is lagging. I have all of the "feedback" features turned off and it still does it. No 3rd party boards installed. I really like the new keyboard and I wont have some third party app developers recording every keystroke.
Any ideas?

I wasn't aware there even was on OTA update to 4.1.1. Far as I knew you could only do it through Kies. Maybe try redoing it through that? Or find the stock image on here and flash it through Odin.

Check the developer options. One of them is set to update when the screen draws. Just disable anything in there you don't need.

It was a dubuging feature turned on.
4.1 is available OTA for AT&T right now.
I dont know when it became available, but its really nice. I use adw pro launcher always on all my android devices so I dont get the full experience of 4.1. I really love what they did with the keyboard and the dropdown, but I really wish they kept the data switch there.
My battery life is not as good anymore though...
Anyway, let me know if its not available to you.

Nvmnd it didnt completely fix the problem.
It doesnt do it nearly as much, but its still there. I will redo from kies.

[Q] Note II LED Notification Issue

After experementing with Light Flow on my Galaxy Note II, I have discovered that my notification LED is no longer functional. It did not work when I installed Light Flow, and still does not work after uninstalling the app. I am rooted and running a Vanilla Rootbox 4.2.2 ROM.
Does anyone know how to get my notification LED working again?
I would download light manager... It has a test mode to enable it and many other led notification options.. Try it out and see if it works.
Good luck!

Led notifications only work on Touchwiz. Nothing AOSP, AOKP, CM based.

Another reason to avoid aosp, asking, cm, roms.

I'm also running vanilla rootbox and mine works.
Settings > display > check off pulsating LED
Not sure if that's your issue.

Very wrong info, ALL AOSP ROMs have a working LED light and the ability to customize it buillt in.
That was exactly my issue. Thank you very much.
