[Q] switch usb and sd?

Is it possible to switch sd and usb storage? All of my apps that save stuff to "sd" actually save it to the usb storage.

Would recommend making it a suggestion to ROM Developers - need to swap "SD" and "SD-EXT", not sure where in the manifest that is, but the good chefs should be able to hack up a solution pretty quick. Would likely require a re-flash, though...

I would love this as well. This would solve so many issues of things not fitting. Games and GPS programs.etc. I have switched my Camera to save to EXT and as well my Titanium Backups but in general everything wants to go to SDCARD by Default.

So here solution swap sd memories
To do this please backup your phone files first. This is info how to use external sd card as main sd card so all apps gonna be saved to your external memory card!!!
Need to root i927
Download Root explorer from market
Download this file :
hxxps://rapidshare.com/files/1609601636/vold.fstab
change x to t
copy that file from computer to the sd card of your phone
Open Root explorer
go to sdcard and copy file vold.fstab
go back to root of your phone
And go to system/etc and "upper" mount drive paste and rewrite original file
Restart phone

Sd card issues

Hey folks. Just got my gn2 today! I was wondering why my 64 gb class 10 card is not being read? Rather, not completely being read. When I downloaded es file explorer none of my old files (from my evo 3d) were there. However when I used another file explorer(AnTek Explorer) There were my files..Now my pictures and music from my sd card picked up but not any of my roms for my emulators or alot of other files. What gives here? Do i need to reformat my sd card? I read some thread saying the phone cant run any apps off of the sd card because of jelly bean, so do i have to be rooted to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone out there have any clue as to what to do about this?

sd card not reading properly???

I am new to the galaxy s III and it appears that my sd card is not reading properly most of my music shows up however when i use root explorer i cannot see the folders i have made with my music and other things inside it.... How do i fix this?

Do you mean an external sd card, or the "internal" sd? The gs3 has the internal storage showing as an sd card. It's confusing at first.

I'm glad you did!! Perhaps someone can help me locate mine. I'm still searching for my external sd card folder but i'm not finding it in the usual places. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but the phone should have 3 locations for storage. Internal, external (which are standard without an additional sd card) and External sd which is usually found in 1 of the 3 locations in my past experience. Either as /mnt/extSDcard, /mnt/external_sd or /emmc.
I know that my phone is somehow reading some files on my external card as power amp sometimes finds my music files and plays them. However, i can't navigate via romtoolbox's root browser or rootexplorer to the physical folder. I suppose i'll just reformat and see if that does the trick. Any other ideas/solutions are welcome
EDIT: I answered my own question. It is CLEARLY in the mnt folder of the root in extSDcard. I feel like a snarf

[Q]External SD card is not showing in my files?

Hello Everyone i used so many things to root my note 2 4.3 jellybean but failed to root.
Yesterday i tried using Dr.Ketan Multi tool and i dont know what happened after that my ext sd card drive is lost from my phone as well as all the files are also lost.
I connected my phone through USB and still it is only showing phone memory and in phone only showing phone memory.
All my apps which i moved to sd card are also not opening now.
What has happened can anyone help me out to restore it back.

try to use ES File Explorer and choose sdcard, it happened to me also it moves alone to emulated but sdcard is visible
so go to /device/storage/
and here it is

Bro in my case its different i cant see storage/device or even in gallery i cant see pictures from storage card.
All my videos and songs are not there.
What has happened i am so worried

i think It will be better if i downgrade it to 4.1.2 as now i am having so many problems with this jellybean

I downgraded to 4.1.2 but still in My files of android i cannot see my external SD card
I want my phone same as it was i have messed up with so many things.
How can i reset everything delete all the files and get it like a new phone from shop
Please someone Help ???

Hi all,
Stock music player does not read folders and files from external ad card.Is it the normal behaviour or could you please suggest

I also have e988 and all my music is on my SD card and the stock player sees all of it. Check whether your SD card is properly detected by the system and whether you have .nomedia in those folders.

For newbies, try copying all your data card files on your computer, format your memory card in your phone and then put it back.
Check for .nomedia though

Hi,
Thanks for the inputs.music video files were detected earlier from the same sd card.whatever that is detected is still showing up.New folders are not..nomedia is not there.

Guess it's not detected because es file explorer was used to transfer to sd card.now it's getting detected when the process is repeated using stock file explorer
