Noon question, sorta. Since the phones hardware (other than radio) is the same between primoc and primou, what happens if you flash a primou ROM on a primoc? I imagine the ROM would boot but the radios would not work? Back in the days of metro flashed evo 4g, we could use standard sprint evo ROMs and just flash the radio files over the ROM as a patch. Is this possible with the one v too, or is son destroying that possibility? Where would one find a flash able radio update?

things have changed quite a lot! i dont think it will boot! it will be stuck in boot loop!

Hello,
Keep in mind that I am relatively new to rooting, I have tried before with an HTC Hero CDMA and that never worked so i got this phone and rooted it. I have a rooted HTC Wildfire S CDMA MARVELC Virgin Mobile USA with Official ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.8 and whenever i flash a custom ROM it doesn't load the Virgin Mobile USA service. I'm not sure how to fix this and was wondering if i did something wrong or if there is anyway to fix it. Again, I'm new to this so any advice is appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to view my post and Thanks for any advice you have.
Make sure its a cdma ROM most are stock one is 3.5 (WIP) and a CM7 ROM is on the way.

Alright. I just figured out why the most recent ROM failed. It was designed for a MARVEL. As for Jikantaru XE ROM I'm not sure why that didn't work. I'll just wait for Cyanogen Mod 7 to come out. Thanks
For cdma phones it has to say marvelc

Hi guys, Im new here, but ive been reading these forums for a long, long time(yes I searched before posting). Thanks for all the things that you guys do but now I need help. I recently rooted my htc wildfire s, marvel c, a510e from virgin mobile(no sim, s-on). After rooting I installed the clockwork mod and made a backup, problem is I hate the stock ROM and I basically tried most roms here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325730 and none have worked, most of the time I get this error "the process com.android.phone has stopped" or it freezes on the boot screen and the few that have worked, all I can do is make phone calls, no data, no MMS, nothing.
Is there something wrong with my phone, or are there any specific ROMS I can us that should work that aren't stock? If not some modified stock roms?
Thanks in advance to everyone.
Welcome to xda!
First the virgin mobile wildfire s is called A510c/cdma/marvelc (not A510e/gsm)
Your phone is crashing because you flashed a A510e rom when its not compatible with your phone. Only flash a510c/cdma rom, this link has all the roms compatible with your phone and be sure to thank the OP and the Dev http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1556983
Oh, now that I think about it I got the A510e from the about section of a ROM that wasn't working, thank you so much for the reply, good day to you. I might contribute to the community sometime I know C++ XD
Yes we need more support for the wildfire s cdma!

I've recently made the switch from a HTC Desire to a HTC One V. I don't mind the stock ROM, but the battery life sucks... Looking around, i see the bootloader unlocks easily, and rooting can be done easy, but I always thought without s-off, we couldnt change the ROM?
Anyway, i'm itching to find out what is doable here, and you guys are the experts... Fill me in will ya?
After unlocking the bootloader and rooting, you can install any ROM and any Kernel you'd like as long as it's compatible with the ROM you're planning to use. We have a variety of awesome ROMs including Sense ROMs if you like Sense or Vanilla ICS/JB if you like that, too. SuPrimo and myOneV are Sense ROMs and CyanogenMod 9 is stock ICS and CyanogenMod 10 is stock Jelly Bean. Go ahead and pick your poison.
-M
As we don't have s-off till now hence you have to flash kernels through fastboot and after that you can flash roms(compatible with flashed kernel) via recovery.....

Hello to all that had taken time to read this I appreciate your help, today i have tried several roms, cyanogem mod 7 and 10, also a version of ICS that did not support the camera. I have found this thread on XDA developers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846304
on that thread they also recommended this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923669

reading that thread I noticed that a lot of people had problems with wifi and data and some did not, Im willing to give it a try but what im looking for is a stable Rom for my device wich brings me to question #2

My recovery is clockworkmod 5.0.2.0, right now the phone is running the cyanogenmod 7.2, idk what other info would be useful but im happy to answer any questions
Read the op in the first thread you linked. It gives instructions on flashing firmware. And check the other which rom is best threads. This has been addressed numerous times.

Please tell us about your setup. Are you dev unlocked, s-off? Verizon phone? What rom?
Did you wipe your cache and delvik cache too?
Note: I may have spelled that wrong.

Can I flash the roms from the compatible section in goomanager? That's probably a dumb question but I was curious
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
You would need the ROM dev to have marked his files correctly.
There were a few more but as you can see by the screenshots..most of em have ace or dhd? I didn't want to risk messing up my i4g by flashing roms I have found in the browse compatible roms in goo manager. Download GM and see what I mean
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
Er, I'm probably not going to download the app just to see what you're talking about... If you see the dev around XDA's Development section it's probably an Ace ROM.
I'd say go for it. Just flash the InspireMod to be sure. Never really used GooIm before, mainly ROM Manager
