Try to connect it to your computer and see if Odin detects it. I don't think cwm recovery touch work on the i747

I tried odin but it doesnt detect. If i put in charge i dont see it charging but when i remove the battery and connect usb to pc there is red light , i dont if that means anything or not. I tried kies , odin . If u can give some idea that will be really helpful.

Have you tried this toolkit? If not give it a try. If it still doesn't work you may try a jig to force your phone into download mode
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app

Yeah i rooted my phone with tool kit than i flashed cwm touch zip since than its not doing anything. Now when i connect device the tool kit doesnt recognize any device.

IS this jig really works . I have seen videos on youtube but i wasnt sure if that works or not.

Well... your last resort will be the jig. I will do a research to see if I can find a work around. I may be wrong but the recovery is on the same partition as the boot so flashing the wrong cwm recovery can brick your phone you can always try to send it back to Samsung they will fix it for you

CWM touch recovery work on att, I use the att version on my i747m. It's version 6.0.1.4

I checked on clockworkmod.com first to see what latest cwm is available for gs3 ..

If you press the power button for about 10sec does the phone vibrate?

Nope it doesnt vibrate. It doesnt even charge ...

I didn't know this thanks for the info ! so now that we know touch recovery works on the i747 you must have done something else while flashing it? Can you explain everything you did?

I use the s3 qcom tool kit to root the phone ( i did exactly shown in video )
Than i downloaded the touch cwm , put it on ext-sd card
Reboot to recovery and install the zip
Installed successfully
So i choose reboot to recovery from cwm and than it never came back to life again.

If you downloaded the cwm touch from clockworkmod.com it should be an .IMG file not .zip and you can't flash it it's for manual installation.

I didnt downloaded it from clockworkmod , i got the file from xda , it was flashable zip file.

Help! I messed up cwm recovery and now cant recover.

I have a Koodo Samsung Galaxy 2x sgh-t989d. running ICS 404 .I have been attempting to root and run a custom mod.CM9
I installed cwm recovery and was able to root, but made a mistake and I dont believe cwm recovery was installed correctly as I was not properly in download mode when I ran odin.
Was able to achieve root, but phone had odd quirk that it would hang on shut down. Had to remove battery.
I installed cm9 but it hung on boot screen animation so i restored but the hang on shut off remained. I then attempted to reinstall CWM recovery again using odin. thinking it didnt install correctly the first time....bad idea
Result: now when I try to access CWM recovery the lines are double spaced and I cant do anything but reboot.
Is there a way to repair the cwm recovery or flash my phone back to stock?
I am a total noob and hope this is the right place for this and would very much appreciate any help I can get.
If you're rooted you can download ROM Manager from Play, it will flash CWM for you.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately No I had tried to restore to factory because of the hanging on shutdown so I am stuck with the phone unrooted. I can access the CWM recovery folders via the sd card, so its really a matter of fixing the CWM install without root.
I have noticed that there is a koodo stock signed zip for my phone on this site which i have downloaded. Is there a way to flash that onto the phone bypassing CWM.
My phone is still operational and so I am a little afraid of making it worse.
If you can get your phone in download mode and connect to odin the you should be able to restore back to stock rom/recovery and perhaps try the process again..

Yes, I can still get into download mode and hook to odin.
Oddly I installed CWM the first time with odin, in recovery mode I believe, and it installed with an error but it worked.
Reinstalling CWM using odin in download mode is what messed up CWM in the first place, so I was a little afraid to try it again..
I clicked pda and pointed towards recovery.tar.md5 as per instructions that I cant link to yet.
so your saying I should try it again?

Side note: make sure you run odin as admin, less likely to get errors. And i don't know much about koodo but i would assume that you would need their stock tar file for all this to work

I don't know if there is an odin flashable stock koodo rom in the development thread yet. You could need that to do it..
However if you are having problems with cwm there is an odin flashable twrp in the dev thread.. Once you install that you can flash superuser and root your phone.. Or even go back to cwm if you choose to

It doesn't use .tar files and neither does cwm I think what you are referring too is .zip files..
Unless specified you can flash anything in this forum with twrp. Some roms require cwm but once you have a working recovery on your phone you will easily be able to switch from one to the other

Ok after a little research here is my plan. First to install TWRP 2.2 using odin (since I dont have root) from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1852753
and then use TWRP to install this stock original rooted koodo ICS 4.04 zip rom from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849748

You must be in download mode to use odin.. Otherwise it won't detect your phone...Open odin then Hold Vol down + power the release power once your phone vibrates then connect it to your computer with usb.. Then you should be connected

[Q] CWM problem please help!

I was running cyanogenmod 9 on my phone when I looked into rom manager, I realized that there was a new version available (6.0.2.7) so I installed it via rom manager. A few days later i found that a stable version of cyanogenmod 10 was available so i put the zip file on my phone and followed the instructions to flash it. I did a darkside superwipe and everything. Then i went to boot my phone and it was stuck on the boot animation for 30 minutes, i scrolled down the page to find a comment from a person having the same issue, he said that to fix it he just pulled the battery out of his phone, put it back in and booted into recovery, did a factory reset, cache wipe and fixed permissions, then booted and it worked. I decided to try, so I booted recovery and tried to do a factory reset, clockworkmod froze. I tried it again, and it froze again. I then tried to clear the cache, clockworkmod froze. I tried to do a darkside superwipe, clockworkmod froze. No matter what I try to install clockworkmod will freeze. Has anybody on here had this problem, or know how to fix it? Or maybe know how to downgrade clockworkmod without being able to actually use the phone?
First off, don't use the Superwipe script on anything other than CWM 5.0.X. It'll cause a boot loop and ruin your recovery. I think your best bet is to boot into download mode and flash a recovery using Odin.

Have you ever tried to reset your phone through kies? If not give it a try. Open kies on your computer then go to tools and click on upgrade and initialize. It will ask you to enter your device model, then the s/n number and just follow the instructions from kies. Let me know if that works for you

If you can still get back to CWM recovery mode, you can use adb from a PC to reboot it into download by
Code:
adb shell
su
reboot download
After that you should be able to use Odin to push anything you need to (or Kies *should* work when it's in download mode, it's been a while since I've used it for anything)

That works, TWRP works, but CWM just wont. I'm using a n7105 international variant, any possible reasons?
another weird thing, i can only flash TW based roms, like cleanrom etc. All CM and aokp roms will go through the flicker thingy and blank screen.
Help please! the reason i root is to do away with tw!
I'm having this exact problem and have no idea what the issue is. If I wait a while after the screen goes black I see the buttons light up and when I press them I get hapic feedback. So I'm assuming it's disabling the screen or something?
Yeah you are correct.
As long as capacitive buttons turn on and the phone vibrates, it means it has booted which generally means a successful boot but failure in screen.
Secondly make sure you do not flash N7100 roms on N7105.
They are too very different phones.
Additionally try cleaning cache dalvik data and system.
Also make sure recovery is for n7105.

[Q] HELP, I Soft Bricked my SIII (I747M)

Hey guys i'm new to the forums and looking for some help.
I've rooted my S3 succesfully and installed CWM as well as flashed the updates for it, but after flashing the CM 10.1 ROM i cant't seem to get passed the CM logo, the screen just stays black. I've been looking through the forums and managed to find some stock ROMs but for some reason Odin(3.0.7) keeps giving me a fail message every time I try to do it.
Please help me I would just like to start from scratch and give it another go, is there any sort of guide to just reset everything either using Odin or from recovery?
Thanks

I've tried flashing a few stock roms and they all fail using odin, am I doing something wrong? And i can't flash from recovery because ic ant access internal storage while its stuck at logo.
To use Odin:
Usb in the back of computer (#1 on a laptop)
Reboot computer
Phone in download mode (volume down+ home+ power)
Run Odin as administrator
Use a known good cable
After flashing back to stock, when you get hung up on boot:
Pull battery, wait 2 minutes, reinsert
Boot into recovery with button combo, factory reset, reboot.

I've restarted and ran as admin, tried multiple ports and still getting the fail message when I click start on Odin with my md5 file under the PDA slot, could it be a bad file?
And you have to extract the file one time after downloaded.
Maybe try using Odin v1.85?

With twrp I know how but I haven't used cwm in forever.

Yea I can't find it, not sure what to do next.
I tried using Odin 1.8.5 but still no luck.
Does anyone have any links for the canadian stock ROMs? Maybe I could try a few and see if any work?

Stock rooted Canadian to flash in Odin is in the rooting walkthrough. So you can't get into recovery at all ?
Tried a different cord ?

Wow ok I managed to flash TWRP using Odin, then was able to flash a stock rom through my external SD and it seems to have brought it back to stock, weird how odin could not do it itself, anyways thank you so much for your help.

No problem at all. I find twrp a bit more intuitive to use and that odd cwm didn't find ext card. Glad it worked.

[Q] TWRP won't load anymore and phone can't detect sim

I've had Sons of Android installed on my phone for a few months and a few days ago my phone stopped detecting the sim, I haven't had service since it stopped. I was going to try doing a restore to the stock rom but when i try to boot into TWRP it shows the splash screen for a few seconds, then it goes black and vibrates 3 times, and then it boots into android. Is there anyone here that can help me with my problem?
for your sim. try looking up as if it was.block?

Go to the imei and see if the imei on the phone was blacklisted.

Put the phone into download mode and reflash twrp 2.6.0.4 maybe u deleted something u shouldn't have, reflashing the recovery should fix that, and if u wanna go back to stock u need to go to sammobile.com download ur firmware and flash with Odin, same thing put phone in DL mode and use odin to flash stock IMG.

How are u trying to get into recovery? Hold power and vol+vol- until phone shuts down, as soon as u feel the first vib let go of power button but continue to hold vol+vols until u see twrp screen, or depending on which ROM ur on u may have an advanced rebbot screen?, try updating ur su app, or better yet download twrp manager from play store, u can flash/backup/restore right from ROM without having to boot into recovery, but u need to have twrp recovery installed for this app to work

Try twrp manager from play store, u won't need to boot to recovery, u can do it all from main system, or use Odin to reinstall twrp and see if that helps sometimes goo can cause issues
