HTC ONE X! Its much better than IPhone 4S ...
- Camera
- Quad-Core
- Bigger Display
- Fast and Smooth!
- best reason ... every time can you change your rom

most apps in the PlayStore are free. I love my HOX, but there is one annoying bug: too big email-font-size. It's drivin me nuts.

Hey man,
As you're in the HOX thread you probably won't get very objective responses but maybe I can give you some pros and cons to weigh.
iPhone 4S:
- if coming from a previous iPhone, it will be easy to transfer contacts and no need to learn anything new
- price is lower now (? correct me if I'm wrong)
- easier-to-learn/use (depends how tech savvy your sister-in-law is)
- jailbreaking is easier and less complicated than rooting (some may disagree)
HTC One X:
- performance powerhouse (quad core!)
- AMAZINGLY beautiful 4.7" Super IPS LCD2 screen (honestly this bad boy's screen is the best I've seen, even compared to the iPhone 5)
- very customizable
I honestly think the HTC One X is the better phone, but if your sister-in-law is not a very avid gadget fan and wants everything to just work, she would probably appreciate the iPhone 4s more.

@Dylan:
Sorry bro I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "when it will be realized" or "HTC One X 5". Is that what the next HTC One X is called?! Haha.
I know that Verizon is going to be releasing a refreshed HTC One X+ in 1 or 2 months (according to rumors).

the hox is better than the iphone 5. let alone the iphone 4s. iphones are the ****tiest, most boring, overrated pieces of **** ever to roam this world.
you can only do what apple decides you do for starters, let alone the fact the hox has way better specs. it has a BEAUTIFUL screen. it has a quad core. it has nfc. and best of all, it runs android.
anyone these days who chooses an iphone over a android handset is missing out big time. All the iphone sheep like to bring up the fact that theres loads of apps, but all i noticed was that theres just 4 or 5 apps with the same functionality, and they're all paid apps (whereas android would offer a free one and /or paid version) and half the time they don't 'just work' like the iphone is supposed to.
i can't wait for apple to get pushed aside again just like back when microsoft did it with the desktop pc market.

HOX is 10x better because:
If they could lock you down as much as they want you too, you'd be doing iPoo's in an iToilet right now.
Because iOS6 is rubbish.
Because Apple are greedy and want more and more money from you.
The list could go on?
HOX is quad core
HOX has beautiful screen
HOX has tegra3 CHIP!

my hero was the only phone that wasn't quite as good as an iphone (in terms of pure speed and app availabilty). even then i still preferred it! and now thats changed a lot because i bet the roms are better, AND theres more apps.
i hate crapple
one x. hands down.
I would get her an iPhone if she is not the kind to install custom ROMs and what not. The iPhone 4s has a stable but stale OS right out of the box. She has to do a million things to her One X before it is stable and a daily driver. I don't know any women installing custom ROMs on Android phones. All my women friends that have android phones complain about battery the whole time and when I tell them to root it and install custom ROMS, they are scared of losing their warranty. So I would say the iPhone 4s.

like in the title whats next for htc after the release of the one x series ?
will their be a new phone comes november ?
The place where i live, half of the shops don't even offer one x so it's pretty much too early for htc to release information about their next product but one thing i can tell you is that upcoming devices (2013) would be based upon tegra 4 (code name wayne) with a support of directx 11 (you can hope to get a ps2 emulator or maybe an xbox one as well). You can try searching on google about it.
ya one x is not available everywhere at the moment but we all know the specs , my question is what direction spec wise the fone will take spec wise , continue with the no sd card? are we likely to see a dual core phone again ? will they all be quad cores ? will all phones have nfc integrated? will the ram be doubled to 2gb ? will battery life improve ?
I think that the htc one x will be htc's flag ship for some time because it has all the latest technology. Right now they offer the same as other flagship devices with android the only diffrence is htc have a good design on thier products i have the htc desire hd i got it for my birthday and this birthday i upgraded to s2 which feels like a downgrade you see the onl think the s2 was praised by was speed but consumers tgat buy things from todays technology market look at few main points design, camera, popularity, price and battery life and the htc design is good the camera is good price is good for a flagship it is imprtant for it to be epensive so it looks like a premium product. It is also avalible in all major networks and the battery life is good enough for a day.
What i dont understand avout american consumers is they say thier too busy to charge but at the same time they have enough time to drain thier phones battery which is stupid. Htc have done well with htc one x you see people would rather have a good all round phone like the iphone which is good in every aspect then have phones like s2 which is all speed design is crap samsung take the piss out of all 4s for looking the same but samsung do not realise all thier galaxy series are the same LOL. So wht im trying to say is yeah s3 will be faster but htc one x is a good allrounder and this is the hardest thing to achive thats why only apple get it right until the One X. The next flagship htc will be when new tech is out meaning new android, cpu, and a better display.
People brag on about s2 having a briliant display but is got a blue tint the ppi is so bad the desire hd looks better and the colours yeh right since when has samsung ever made the best tv with the best colours samsung never make new technologies but rather follow and copy companies like apple, sony, htc, pioneer etc are the real brands i dont hate samsung but everthing is cheap even the company brand image is cheap. So realty is its not about benchmarks or best camera but a good allrounder but the one x exceeds 4s limits by not only being a good allround but having the best display you see amoled colour is good but thats it slcd is good in every aspect except black levels which arent a major concern to me. It all has the best graphics compared to other companies over all one x is excellent other phones are faster but you should compare everything the only thing the one x doesnt have is good speakers compared to 4s which is pretty loud.

you're my hero. I hate it when the Samsung fans keep calling people idiots for not loving that stupid bluish tinge and the artificially contrasted colors ("colors pop!"). Where I live I have never seen any Samsung SII w/out that tinge and it's very obvious. No exaggeration.

There's a big fat chance that there will be nothing after the One X as HTC will go into insolvency next year thanks to the One X being bad-mouthed by disgruntled consumers (aint they always the loudest) and fan boys of other brands (mostly Samsung- I can testify that since I have seen pretty much all reviews about the One X).
I am planning to get a HTC One X, and recently read a rumor of HTC One XXL. I dont want to wait until next year, and if the screen size is bigger than HTC One X then XXL would be useless for me. I need a good advice whether to get One X or wait for HTC One XXL??

leaked information is never reliable
but is is the only information we have about the XXL
1.6 quadcore (now 1.5)
2GB RAM (now 1GB)
1.8 MP Front Facing Camera (now 1.3MP)
same screen
same screen size
same camera sensor
but i hasn't been annouced yet so you don't know when it is released
my advice, just buy the one x
there will be always better phones released right after you buy it
if you want to wait for the best you can wait until you die
hmmm yeah....i think its a good idea to get a HTC one X as the XXL has a little advancement of RAM and 1.6GHz rather than 1.5GHz. The one on the HTC one X would be enough for me, but i am worried about the battery life, also i heard that there gonna be a huge update for HTC one x which improves lof of stability and bugs, also battery life. Is that true???
Am also worried about the defects, if i get a faulty one, are there lot of faulty ones out there or wat?
it's not JUST 1.6 Ghz It's The QUAD-Core Snapdragon S4 28nm With Adreno 320 GPU and clocked at 1.6 or 1.7 and if the rumors are right it Would be A BEAST! :silly::laugh:
Hmz this is new for me. Would be cool if it would be a real device.

I think this will come out around October/November time, HOX refresh, around iPhone 5 time and GNote 2 time.
that would be stupid but given that sadly so sadly s3 is selling more, HTC will be forced to do this move
as for me the choice is simple, i follow tegra
i dont see happy reports from the s4 owners, in fact they say it evens out in terms of battery life since screen off times is not as good so imagine a quad with that...and the adreno 3x demos are nothing much

They have to do something as the iP5 will be a big seller regardless of what anyone says and the GNote 2 will be Samsung's high end phone. So HTC will need some new high end device to compete as the HOX won't match either in terms of sales around that period leading up to the holiday period.

Purported HTC One XXL specs: quad-core Snapdragon and LTE (Update: Fake)
UPDATE: Many have cried foul over the alleged screenshots, with the texture on the settings menu not matching what’s found on current Sense 4.0 devices, and the previously embedded video has been made private. On top of that, would HTC really release a new flagship device so soon and risk customer loyalty? Apologies, friends, but the information is more likely than not fake.

Android phones have always out-spec'd iPhone's with bigger displays, faster processors, more features, and better customization. The iP5 is supposed to have a 4.1" display and an A6 processor. The current One X and SGS3 are competitive. People don't buy Android because the iPhone has better specs, they buy it because it's an iPhone. The Note isn't an iPhone competitor. At 5MM sales vs. 20MM sales of the SGS2 it's not even a player. Not everyone wants to hold a tablet to their ear.
Im sure I read somewhere that HTC are only going to do hardware refreshes every year. Instead of the 2-3 a year they do now

SGS3
Htc One X
Htc One S
LG 4xHD
Thanks
one x
the one x is the best phone on the market closely followed by the S111 so its more upto the style you like
look at the one x +, or wait for the new nexus. It could be better to get the new s4 pro chip as well as it's supposed to be the best, but wait for an actually review, both user and 'expert'. Forget about the lg4 x hd. Its no longer their flagship phone. Also, if you don't mind the big screen size, forget the one s.

The main reason to have One S on the list is because the size of screen. I have Desire and I like 3.7" size screen, and get 4.7" or 4.8" screen its not what im looking for, but is what we have on market.
I saw some chinese phone (Xiaomi MI-Two and another) which has pretty good specs but i dont know if theses phones are realible.
The last but not the least, the new htc one plus is amazing, but its not selling yet. I dont know if i'll wait.
So, the poll continuing...

there might no more CM for Samsung cpu, so if you like CM GS3 is not a good choice. In China we call nexus 4 legal son of Google, so it will have more fun in os update.
So we all know the news of the new nexus, the 16gb costs the same as the HTC one x if I sell mine. All of the internal specs seem great I'm not bothered about sd card, non removable and lte. I just wanted to know is anyone else was buying it by trading their hox in, I just care to know if the camera quality, screen quality, DAC are better then the hox because these are the main reasons why I would buy it since the hox has bad output speaker, battery life, overheats and I don't what a phone with a worser screen then my current or I'll feel like I've downgraded instead.
The camera that is used is a Sony bsi camera in the nexus 4, which is the same as the iPhone 5's. I do like the hox camera but it is behind the iPhone 5, s3 and lumia 920 in terms of quality and colour reproduction. I was watching the verge video which stated that one of the main people behind the nexus 4 said they spent a lot of time making it good at low light shoots which the hox suffers in. The one x+ is good too but I don't like the 40nm CPU and the material used as it gets dirty to easily. So what do you lot think is it worth the trade or are you happy with the hox?

I am also so very tempted to do this, I really like the Nexus devices and I've had it with HTC !!
How would you sell yours? Ebay? And then purchase the Nexus 4?
What happens if I've got 16 months of a 2 year contract left? Could I just sell the HOX, buy the Nexus 4 and then pay the contract for the minutes? etc?

I'm going to try Gumtree first, then eBay then buy a N4 with the money.
You can put your sim into any unlocked phone and continue paying your bill as normal.
Hmm I'm happy with my HOX but I want the latest and greatest. The major selling point is that it is a nexus device.
I could recycle my HOX for £195 that wouldn't leave me far off the money needed, but I'm not sure its worth it.
My one X does everything I could possibly want at the moment.
If the N4 had LTE capability, maybe I would be completely swayed.

I'm broke, but selling my HOX should cover most of the cost
I absolutely love my HTC One X, it's a great machine,
but I'm unhappy what is happening in this device section.
People are ignoring forum rules, no respect among each other, moaning about the device, comparing it with other manufacturers and so on.
Jelly Bean rocks on HTC One X, battery live is awesome and the rom flies.
I've see the Nexus 4 video but I don't like the design of the machine and the OS has some new stuff but not so impresive to my opinion.
Anyway if I sell my HTC One X, I'm going back to Microsoft, the HTC 8x or the Nokia 9200 are looking great.
I still doubt to choose between those two phones because the Nokia has a Carl Zeiss lens but also the HTC 8x seems to have a amazing camera with new technology.
So probably one of those machines will be my next phone.
Shame to hear that Leo.
Hope you can stay with your One X and also you can get a W8

im with you buddy..selling my phone and going for the Nexus 4...will be my first Nexus so looking forward to it...just need to sell this bad boy first though
For me HOX is amazing phone. Solid in hand, looks amazing. I really do not understand why battery life is bad .. i am having 48h with daily use.. at some point even more. With that kind a battery and stock rom 2days+ is great, isn't it? 3~5% battery loss in deep sleep (night time) 8~10h.
Agree that Nexus 4 should be good, better than HOX performance/camera wise. Still like the looks of HOX more than N4.
For a quad core beast... what do you think?
The previous single core phones I owned even couldn't make a full day without charging.

Go for the Nexus 4. Any Nexus device is so much better than an hTC device. Always up-to-date sources, working drivers, best support. hTC just lost it along the way.

and the lg screen
three of the toppest specced components in android history. hell ya. too bad im poor

Just don't expect an HTC ONE X - grade screen.
On the Nexus 4, whites aren't white, more like very soft gray.
I have a Galaxy Nexus and am thinking of switching to a One X. Not sold yet, though, because of the device's speed and Android's ugly apps. Thinking of iPhone 5 (but am not rich so can't afford it) and Lumia 920 (same).
Hello
I am planning to buy HTC One X international version for about 468$ from a local store where I can test it and so on. I now wonder if I should wait for a newer phone release within the same price range or wait for HTC One X price to drop more or maybe even wait until the HTC One X+ price drop and get it instead .
So
Get The One X now for 468$
Or
Wait until it becomes cheaper like 400$ or so few weeks later
Or
Wait for the One X+ price drops to 468$ and that way I get the better version for the same price of the old one
Or
Wait for 2013 phones to be released and get one of them instead or get the One X really cheap .
What do you guys think ? It is worth waiting and for how long ?
It's a good phone, but the One X+ is obviously better. (It's not much of difference, imo). But the price is a bit too high. You can score the X for a better price through sellers here or on eBay...

Secondly i have had a lot of reboots and freezes with the stock ROM this might be something to do with me being with Three who are useless and haven't provided important updates etc to us.
If you can get the s3 or Nexus 4 get one of them, if you are into iOS get the iPhone you know the phone is going to be stable, get updates on time etc.
Like i said the One X is a decent phone but it does have its problems
Good Luck with you're new phone
I think the One X is a VERY good phone. Obviously there is a smudge of bias on my opinion as I own one but from having used an S3 for a 1 month period before deciding that I didn't want it, I can tell you why ***In my opinion*** the One X beats it
Firstly, the screen is devastatingly beautiful, the colors are amazing, it's got sublime viewing angles near 180 degrees if i'm honest and it's just brilliant for watching HD content on, plus the screen is big enough that you can actually appreciate media content on the screen. Being picky when it comes to screens, it pains me everytime I use the S3 and I can see the pentile pixel grid and all the whites have a green tint to them.
Tegra 3, now I know it's a bit of a gimmick, but it gives a noticable difference in graphical quality than any comparible phone without tegra such as the Nexus 4 or the S3, also works beautifully with the screen
Design, much like the One X's screen, it's body is really well styled, the materials feel very premium and the handset just feels good, the design just has that wow factor which I felt when I first saw the HTC Legend. The S3 in this category cannot hold a candle to the one x, when I feel that glossy polycarbonate, my mind scream CHEAAAAPP!! I know it's not and I know it's the same material that the One X uses but it just doesn't feel like a £400 phone should. Also opening up the battery cover on the white version, you just see disgusting cheap white plastic everywhere which for a picky person like me isn't that great.
Camera, now this is a very subjective area and I much prefer the pictues the One X produces, the S3's pics feel very very saturated in terms of colors where I feel the One X is more representative of the true color, again, this is entirely subjective and that's how I felt.
Sense UI is amazing, yes it's heavy and yes it's buggy sometimes but it's so much more polished than Touchwiz feels and I just like the interface more, there's more "customisability" and it's a nice nice interface to use. I prefer the vanilla android UI just because it's really good nowadays but at the time of purchasing, there were no other phones that bragged the same specs which came with stock Android, and even now if I could change the One X for the Nexus 4, I don't think I would for the reasons above.
Final reason I got a One X is because I really like the fact no one knows what it is and that not many people own one. It's like an exclusive club which people who appreciate Sense can join!
We seem to have veered off topic.
Waiting is a mugs game, it'll always get cheaper, there will always be something better coming along.
What BenPope said. Basically the choices boil down to pretty much buying One X+ if you can afford it, otherwise One X, or you could wait for about a year (or longer) for Tegra 4 devices to come at around mentioned price range.
I bought One X about two weeks ago and all I can say is that I don't regret that decision for a moment.

It's a good phone, but the One X+ is obviously better. (It's not much of difference, imo). But the price is a bit too high. You can score the X for a better price through sellers here or on eBay...
