And I'm on Hellfire JB which is feeling stable and great to me. I remove some "bloat" (in my eyes it is) and I'm happy with it... what you need to do is test them all out for about a 2-3 days to test battery and then switch to a new one to see what it feels like and to test battery again. Over and over until you find what you like. Me personally I like AOKP but trying out new things while everything is moving so fast for these roms. Once you flash official CM10 a new AOKP is out and so on so its hard to base these roms and say which is best. Try them out and you will find what works best for you. Also this thread is frowned upon. Lol.

Looks like all the vibrant folks went gs3 cool. Now I'm considering note 2 using the wife's upgrade. Wonder how it will compare to this fine piece of technology?

This rom seems to have a great rep..and I've heard of it from owning previous devices but can't say I ever ran it. Can someone just break down the basics like why people love it so much or what stands out about it? Would be appreciated thanks

My question is... which rom is best on this device? Maybe asking for too much but anything close to s3 and note 2 like rom would be sweet. I have an i777 on shostock3 and that rom is beast.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
You inherited a damn good phone lol. The recently released jellybean leaks like FK23, FL04, and FL16 offer a close experience to that of the Galaxy S3. The home screen and notification bars are nearly the same and many features are carried over to our device as well. You have some interesting motion features to try out as well.
Honestly you can't go wrong with any. All the devs put a lot of hard work into their roms, and it shows. My personal favorite for ics is blu Kuban. As of right now I am running fk23, and have been since it's release.

Congrats on getting this phone:thumbup:
Now as far as best ROMs. There is no such thing as a "best" ROM. Every user has its own preference based on whether he is a power user or a casual user, whether he is into themed ROMs or ROMs with stock feel, etc.
So you are just going to have to look in dev forums, read user posts, read OPs and then decide.
I can say so and so ROM is better but thats for my taste. You are not me. And some devs may not feel good that I left out their ROM.
So take this advise and happy flashing!

I was wondering ..what is the problem with amking a pure aosp rom? Is it the files or just that cm is more reliable? I wish there was a pure aosp rom.not a fan of cm for a couple of reason one being that it reboots/bootloop every time on my phone with stock or ktoon kernel

There is a banned ROM/Kernel that's way closer to being pure AOSP over anything else. Haha I wont tell you where to find it but dig around. Im currently using it and its blown my mind why I ever used that lag fest TW stuff. 70% battery left, phones been on for 12 hours and thats on the first boot also, cant wait for it to settle.

Also, does this banned ROM have a smooth handoff between 3G/LTE/WiFi?
I ask because I have flashed several AOSP and AOKP ROMs and they all seemed to struggle for signal strength (thus, draining the phone battery much faster than a TW ROM).

It does and works fantastically. You don't even have to focus the camera to take a picture. I tried it for a few hours and its the smoothest aosp Rom I have ever used.

So I know that ROMS aren't only for looks. I know they're good for making the system run smoother and heard in some cases, it can save battery life. But unfortunately I never liked any of the looks of the ROMS. I remember having CM10 at one point and crying to get back to the stock ROM. So are there any ROMS that are better for the phone but still give you the original S3 look?
Yes, and you can find them in the Dev forum.

Before people grab this and start running off with it and running their mouths about bugs there are a few things that should be realized.
1. 0xD34D has posted on XDA before and there is no reason to think he won't this time around.
2. This seems to be a sort of alpha or beta based on the build number.
3. If you need stability don't flash random roms without realizing things like alpha, nightly, milestone, etc. Stick to [STABLE] roms.
Carry on and have a nice day... :good:

So far, so good. Had a little glitch with the theme manager, though. It defaulted to Jellybean colors but I prefer those anyways. Definitely let it settle before customizing. I flashed the newest Note radio on top of it and flashed the latest gapps. Everything is running smoothly. Great battery life so far and very little lag. I'm running the latest nightly btw.

If you read their website you would know that's exactly what they did. However, they dug into the System and theme manager and mad it reach a lot more of the UI.
