[REQ] MOD that disables the non-confirmation USSD factory reset - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

As you know the latest Jelly Bean 4.1.1 (DLI) for Samsung Galaxy S III is vulnerable to the USSD reset:
http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2012/09/w...android-4-1-1-still-vulnerable-to-ussd-reset/
Why is this an issue? AFAIK, it can be triggered via a "tel:" link from any web page. So in theory (will not test this myself!) your phone can be factory wiped just by you clicking on a link on a web page.
Clearly this must be fixed.
Thus requesting a MOD to disable the whole Factory Reset Code via a telephone code entry OR to ask for a confirmation before the factory reset.

[RESOLVED] Missing NFC Tapping

[RESOLVED: It was an app called 'File Expert' that provided the option. I thought it was a stock option...]
For some reason, the option to Share via NFC Tapping is missing. I am not sure how or why....
I can still receive data via NFC/Android Beam and still use GWallet. But if I was the one to initiate a Share via NFC Tapping, it is not possible.
Troubleshooting:
--Factory Reset
--Factory Reset
--Flashed Stock Image (4.0.4 - IMM76K)
--Flashed Stock Image (4.0.4 - IMM76Q)
After troubleshooting, the issue remains.
I had it when I had ICS and don't recall what JB build I had when it was missing.
Current Information:
--Carrier: Verizon (Toro) Galaxy Nexus
--ROM: BB (4.1.2 - JZ054K)
--Kernel: Franco (r295 - 192MHz/1228MHz)
The issue began before I had the setup mentioned. I have a friend with the same ROM and they have the option to Share via NFC Tapping.
I've searched threads in all forums, google'd to the max and failed.
Is there an app I need to side load? Do I update NFC binaries? Anyone has an ideas? Trying to avoid doing damage to my phone if someone already has the answer. Thanks in advance.
Hmmm....I may be the only one with this issue.
::bump and crossing fingers::
I've done further searching and only found mods to enable the NFC/Android Beam option in Settings. I already have the option displayed and have the ability to enable/disable.

[Q] No Usable Options to sign in

Galaxy Tab S T-700 Lost unlock options
I have what seems to be a new one....The fingerprint scanner no longer boots at startup, The Alternative Password claims that I don't know it and I can't find the option to sign in with Google. Any suggestions????
I hadn't altered the software, Everything is still stock. I have VERY limited function thru a guest profile which will not allow any new apps nor access to most of the apps installed under my profile.
How about some kind of remote access?? Bypass the lock screen? I do have the right fingerprint, and the Alt PW ( I think, 90% sure). I have Team Viewer on everything else. Debugging is enabled. I have a good Google account. I also use Last Pass......
I'm another desperate noob. Please help.:crying:....
Try vol +home+power with the tablet off. Reboot into recovery, wipe data, cache and reboot. Second one odin 3.09 plus stock firmware from sammobile.com, boot in download mode and flash the firmware. Metod one will make you lose all your data, method 2 maybe will save your pesonal files (pictures, etc). 3rd method...samsung repair...you need proof of purchase , box and all the accesories. Good luck
Did you set up FIND MY MOBILE in Security settings. If so you can use it to unlock the lock screen with a code.

Search on youtube on how to bypass lockscreen before you factory reset.
Much Thanks!
In that I was "just playing" until I had the intestinal fortitude to root I went ahead with the factory reset.
Have any of you seen the loss of a sign in method before? Factory reset fixed it.... I wish I knew what caused it...
Threads again!
Signed,
Not so very desperate noob....

Exchange Policy Surviving Factory Restore

Hi All,
I did some searching and couldn't find anyone having this issue. I put my work email on my Tab S which required exchange security policy approval. I decided that I didn't need it on my tablet and my phone so I removed it. But the tab still thinks it there as it keep asking me to encrypt the SD card and I'm limited to just a password for my lock screen choices. I have searched device administrators and email is no longer listed. In Settings > Security the option to clear credentials is greyed-out. If I look in Trusted Credentials, User is empty and I don't see my corp listed in system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Most security settings for OWA are sent from the Exchange server that pushes your messages out. I'd try a factory reset of your Tab or Odin a stock ROM. Either should remove "leftover" changes Exchange installed.

Thanks for the reply. I can't believe I forgot to say, I have preformed a factory reset, twice. I have also rooted the tab, my factory resets have been with TWRP.
I'd go with Odin flashing a stock ROM which by all accounts should make it factory fresh. Re-root afterwards.

I went ahead and encrypted the SD Card and then had the option to decrypt the card. At that point I decrypted it and then all lock screen option were available.
Weird, but I have full control again.
Thanks for the help, it got me in the right place

[Q] please sign in using one of the owner's accounts for this device

when i install a custom rom (viper one 4.2.1 or 4.3) i get the following error please sign in using one of the owner's accounts for this device. when i install the RUU for AT&T developer i can log in just fine with my account.
anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
Go back to your functioning rom and remove the google account (might want to do a backup first!). Then do the flashing etc and sign in with your account as a new device.
The problem is googles factory reset protection. Its designed to make the device useless if the phone is factory reset without being unlocked first.
The other way is factory reset from android settings, then flash, then sign in to your account as a new device.
Google needs to address the fact that frp is too strong and needs to add another way in to devices in the event of accidental lockout.

I am having the same problem more or less.
I have bought a Nexus 9 from another person.
I did a factory reset today and I cannot sign in now.
Will this solution work? How do I go to funcioning rom, etc?
This is a "Google" security feature... When you wipe a device and then set it back up, if you didn't delete the Google account first, it will ask for those "original" credentials. Only way around it is to completely RUU the device back to the latest stock image. But I've heard some devices still have issues since the SN or IEMI is associated with the previous users Google account.
So, if you buy a new device... ALWAYS make sure the previous owner deleted their Google account first, or have them there when you go through the first few setup screens to enter their credentials....Then after you enter your credentials, you can reset it.
Just kind of mirroring what shivadow said
OH no! I am having this problem with a newer device!! Please help! It has been about 22 hours since I tried booting a custom binary with a non-unlocked OEM lock! I'm waiting to try to sign in to my Google account until 24 hours passes! I might have to wait 72 hours! Please review the post [LINK=http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/s7-edge-canada-boot-to-twrp-t3509603]here[/LINK]...I don't know if I posted that right so cut and paste this if that link doesn't work:

Unable to bypass factory reset protection even with the correct Google account

Hi, I bought a Nexus 5X for a friend a few weeks ago and got it updated to Nougat. I used my own Google account to setup the phone and install some apps. Then, I removed the device from my Google account, factory reset it, and gave it to friend. When he switched it on, it asked to enter the original owner’s Google username and password, so I gave mine. But after logging in without any error message, the phone displays the same screen over and over. Asking to enter the original owner’s Google username and password. We tried to wipe user data in recovery mode also. But the same issue occurs. Anyone knows how to fix this? Please help.

Did you change the password on your google account.
If so, there will be 72hr lockout on that account for activations.
If you try to early, it resets the 72hr counter.
@minnix wait the 72 hrs as advised or check online for a current bypass method or flash the TOT with the LG Up tool as if your phone were bricked.

One other thing, the best thing to do to avoid factory reset protection is remove account from device as opposed to what you wrote (remove device from account)
