wifi status bar icon in gray - HTC One X

What does it mean when the wifi icon in the statusbar is gray instead of the usual blue? I'm not getting net access but wifi settings says I'm connected.
Thanks!

The usual is white , but when it's grey , it means it's getting IP address of the WiFi or connecting .

I would say he has CM in which the blue means its connected to the google servers.
You can have internet on gray as well but its not getting a response from google lets say.
If you do not get wifi access try to erase cache, reflash your kernel and modules. etc.

G and E icons at notification bar - stuck there

Hello all,
Today, I noticed that 2 icons ( "G" & "E" ) are appearing at the notification area.
Not both of them simultaneously but alternately the one appears and the other not..
Sometimes the the arrows are white and sometimes not.. :S
The software version is 2.29.405.5 (stock software but rooted).
When I saw the G(GPRS sign) I thought a MMS must be coming..but after 4 hours nothing has been received.
I have restarted the phone several times but still the same.
I have never used a GPRS connection to connect to the internet, I always use Wifi.
And I haven't installed new apps, in case some of them was using GPRS connection..
What is wrong with it?
Thank you for your time!
Problem solved!
A setting was checked at Settings>Wireless Networks.
Thread can be deleted or locked!
LOL, those are the mobile network indicators
E stands for EDGE, G for GPRS.
Nothing to worry about.
I know what the meaning of the icons is.
The problem was that I wasn't using any of these networks!
I am only accessing internet via my Wifi connection.
That's why I was worrying about them..

Red arrows for disabled cellular data

Anybody knows how to get rid of that crappy red arrows showing on status bar while cellular data transmission is disabled? Or where are these stored in? I looked inside framework-res.apk without success.
Why do you want it disappear? Just hit clear beside it, and it gone until your next enable-disable the data network.
it did not gone when i hitted clear beside it. sory for my english.
That annoyd me to so u just enabled cellular data , easy
Sent from my MB526 using XDA App
I use widget for mobile data, and when I disable it with the widget the red arrows are not showing.
i use https://market.android.com/details?id=com.curvefish.widgets.apnonoff
Thank you all. And where are these icons stored? Anybody? Because maybe its easy replaceable like ones in system/framework/framework-res.apk file.

I was sooooo anoyed with those damn arrows !!! Go to Google Play and download APNOnOff by Curvefish. Then enable Motorola native Apn and when red arrows disappear just hit APNOnOff widget you've just downloaded to disable mobile internet.
It works 100%! Tried it on my Razr and Pro +..
I hope it will work for you aswell..
Cheers

What are these gray bars and why are they there?

These were not like this before and I dont know what is wrong. Whenever I dont have WiFi activated my connection bars turn grey (even if I have a full 5 bar connection). Whenever I activate WiFi then the bars turn blue. Everything works fine while the bars are grey except that I cannot use the android market, facebook, gmail, etc. I do not know what is causing this or how to fix it so I could use some help please.
I know there are some threads on here about the grey/green bars and I want to make it clear that I am not asking WHAT the difference is. I am asking why dont I have blue bars without WiFi? It has been working fine without WiFi at all up until now.
These are 2 pics showing what I mean.
Do you have a Verizon Nexus? If so Verizon has been having 4G outages across the country today so you may not have a data connection. Those bars show grey when there is no data 3G/4G connection.
i believe blue bars means that you have a secure connection to googles servers, correct me if im wrong tho

Yes but I dont use 4G often since it drains battery a ton. It could still be the problem even with 3G though? I guess I will have to wait it out it seems.

Yes that is correct, but if they are having data outages then I think it would also cause the greyness.
Grey bars means no connection with google servers.Blue means connected to google servers. Some times i have grey because of some disconnection (eg gtalk) but i have the H symbol with full bars and i can browse see my email etc etc

X inside WiFi signal bars?

I feel like this must be answered somewhere on the internet, but every time I try searching, I get a ton of results for the HTC One X's WiFi issues.
My issue is that I often get a little tiny x inside my WiFi signal bars.

Screenshot?
You are seeing the up and down arrow inside the wifi icon when data is being transmitted. That's my guess.
and why sometime the wifi icon is grey and the rest of time blue? what does it means?

Blue means it's connected to Google Services, Grey means not connected to Google Services.

[Q] 4G LTE signal next to Wi-Fi indicator?

So today I flashed this update for 4.1.2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387423
And I noticed the 4G LTE icon is always there when I am sitting at my home wifi. Is this normal or what could it be?
Edit: Under Settings > About device > Status > Mobile Network state is always "Connected".
IP Address is always the mobile IP and not the WiFi IP...
Edit 2: If data is turned on and wifi is connected, phone cannot access online services at all unless in airplane mode with wifi on...
Anyone???

It means that the phone is using your providers network, if you were on wireless for example as you know how it normally looks, the network data icon goes away, If you were to send a text or use a program that does not use wifi, it will then use cell data. Maybe you have a rogue app or service running. Have you tried to wipe your cache and dalvik? You could also be connected with wifi but not have internet access through it, thus enabling the network again while wifi is on.

I've checked the network connection over and over again, but from what I see, the icon never goes away and its been more than a day, so I'm gonna try wipe cache and dalvik and if not, I might have to do an Odin stock (hopefully not).
I also noticed that from jst downloading an app through the Play Store, I get a system notification (the ones that appear in a gray box at the bottom of the screen) that I have XXX.X MB left of memory...
