I have a t-mobile dash with WM6, and it is simlocked, is there any program or method to sim unlock the phone? DIY
thanks
Call T-Mobile and request an unlock code.
or you can download this SDA unlock... you can find the program if you google it man... it should not be hard to do so...
you wont find a free SIM unlocker (yet) unless you go through T-Mobile. The SDA unlock is for application unlock, it will not SIM unlock.
I try SDA unlock is not working, so how would i be able to get unlock code from t-mobile? thanks
what do i need to give them? receipt, bill., prove of purchase?
i did it, call the t-mobile company saying that i need to unlock the phone for oversea use, give them IMEI and email, two days later they email me back the code. Question is the code unlock both sim and cid, or just sim, how would i be able to check whether it is CID unlock? thanks
When you called T-Mobile, did they ask for a phone number or any kind of account numbers? I don't have a T-mobile phone number, so calling them for the code may be a problem.
you have to be t-mobile account holder, if you don't have one get a friend who use t-mobile to call for you. They will not ask you anything much (saying you are going oversea and want to use the phone there), just your email and phone IMEI.
I just got my new S3. Does anyone know what is the default unlock SIM PIN? I wanted to change the PIN no. So that I can lock the SIM card.
Thank you

The default sim pin for AT&T is "1111", I'm not sure if they would be the same, but I don't see why they would be different...

Just call T-mobile, they will give it to you.
Called. She has to put me in hold for like 4 times and then come back to me and ask why do I need the default unlock SIM no.
Are you kidding me?!

Correct me if I'm wrong, when you lock the sim, don't YOU enter the pin code yourself?

1. Are you trying to unlock your SIM to be able to use your phone with other carriers or
2. are you trying to change SIM PIN code which is not really unlocking. BTW, if i'm not mistaken there 2 PINs for SIM
If the answer is #1, then this will help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820253
if #2, then I have no idea, nor do i understand why you need it
I want to have personal PIN for my SIM CARD. If someone steal my phone they won't be able to make phone call from my account after they restart the phone.
Thanks guys. I already got the default PIN no.

Or you can just call t-mobile and ask them to temporary suspend your line cuz your phone was lost/stolen
Does anyone know where to find video call option in S3 it's not present in the dialer.

default t-mobile sim PIN
I was under the impression at first that the "Set up SIM card LOCK" related to the locked status of the device as it related to using other carriers SIMs. Then I come to find out, it really related to the PIN code on the SIM card. I did some research, and the default PIN is not the same as the UNLOCK code T-Mobile sends people for unlocking the devices for travel/etc. It is a separate code for password protection on the SIM: 1234
Enter this, and you can then change the PIN to whatever you want. This code is like a password to use the SIM card itself so no one else can use it or your service without the code on their phone. You can also store your address book/etc on the SIM that cannot be accessed without the PIN.
If anyone else looks this up, here are the default codes for AT&T and T-Mobile again:
AT&T GSM SIM PIN default code: 1111
T-Mobile GSM SIM PIN default code: 1234
Verizon GSM SIM PIN default code: 1111
edit: after further research, you may be aware that if your phone code blocked due to entry of wrong PIN too many times, and you requested the PUK code to fix it, the default SIM PIN may be reset to 0000 or another code. That is what the Verizon instructions page says. I hear after entering the carrier provided PUK code, it unlocks the SIM, too. IDK if the default SIM PIN remains 1111/1234 or changes after that. Just be aware it might if you can't get it to work.
Depending on the device, some devices password protect the SIM code lock screen with a Security code, which is '0000' such as the LG Encore. Just look up the respective guide in Google about this before getting stuck entering the wrong code on the wrong screen. For Android devices, you will go to "Settings->Security->Sim code lock->Set up SIM card lock->Tap Lock SIM card/Enter PIN to use device" without being hassled by this Security code - it is a unchecked box until you enter the above code. Then after entering it, it becomes checked. And you can then tap "Change SIM PIN" below. Good luck, and don't forget this code.
If you run into trouble, contact your carrier for PUK unlock issues, etc. The phone sometimes becomes locked when you enter the wrong PIN too many times when trying to figure this out. The PUK code can only be given by your carrier to unlock it if the security mode kicks in and blocks you.
My phone recently got locked in puk mode. When i took it to T-Mobile the lady reset it and told me thre new code was something like 1001 or 1101. So i need to know if anyone knows the basic sim pin codes they would use?
Aren't puk codes unique to a SIM card?
Just got a hold of a HTC One X and get no signal at all when I have my SIM in.
Was originally from O2 (UK) and when opening a SIM info app (eg SIM card, SIM manager) the SIM state shows as network locked.
I'm assuming the phone needs to be unlocked but there doesn't seem to be any way of inputting a unlock code (doesn't prompt for unlock code with SIM inserted,no option for entering unlock code in security menu).
Any ideas?
Thanks

Don't think you can SIM-unlock a HTC One X without s-off, unless you have a code, in which case ive read in some cases you may have to insert the new SIM code and hard reset the phone, to then input the code. But don't quote me.

Yea that's the thing though. I have an unlock code for it, I just can't find anywhere to input it.
I've done a hard reset and there's still no prompt for unlocking.
EDIT: my flatmate whose phone it is said that it was working fine before upgrading to JB.
Bump =/
try inserting a sim from a different provider, phone will ask for the code on its own as soon as new sim is in

Nah they don't which is why it's so odd.
I'll go pick up a brand new sim today and check if that works
Hi,
I am new to GSM technology moving over from CDMA technology (US Cellular) and have a question about unlocking the phone so you can use it on another network. Once I put in a foreign SIM card and unlock it with the NCK code does the phone stay unlocked or every time you put in a different SIM card you have to reenter the code?
stays unlocked, you just need to do it once.

Unlocking a phone with a code is a permanent change however there are instances where we've seen some models reactivate the lock when someone has changed the software on their phone. Usually this doesn't happen and it is rate that it does but if so, then the same codes can be used to remove the lock again.
The only time the unlock codes won't work on a phone they have in the past is when the IMEI of the phone has been changed. This only happens if a phone is repaired and an engineer changes the IMEI - it won't happen randomly.
"SIM Suddenly *Perso* Locked?!" <-- (Thread Tittle Typo)
Hello XDA. Mayhaps you can help me solve a problem that came out of literally nowhere.
I'm using an AT&T Galaxy Note II on Metro PCS with Cyanogenmod 13, and I have been using this setup for a few months now with almost no issues. Now don't get me wrong, I've had some hiccups here and there. Random reboots, camera issues, once I even lost ALL of my personal data for seemingly no reason at all.
Right this very moment, however, my phone just randomly rebooted, which I'm used to, but upon unlocking my phone after startup all I get is "Unlock Sim Network Pin" - "Sim Perso Locked Emergency Calls Only"
I have NO idea what is going on or why this happened in the first place. I don't have the slightest clue on how to fix this at this hour other than paying for an unlock code from a third party, but there's no way I'm doing that! Please help.
TL;DR
My phone rebooted and now the SIM is locked for no reason. Pls hlp
How did you sim unlock the phone in order to use Metro PCS? You mean the sim is locked in that the sim card is asking for a pin?

When I bought the phone off of a friend they asked at&t to unlock it and they obliged.
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Every time I restart the phone it asks for a pin to unlock SIM.
I'll update with screenshots.
Once the phone is unlocked via code, it should be permanently network unlocked. Do you still have the unlock code?
If the sim is asking for a pin, sounds like a setting in the security may have been changed to prompt for a pin. Did you try entering 1234 or 0000?
Same thing just happened to me, what was your solution? Phone worked fine yesterday, powered down from battery use, when I plugged it back /charged it, it was doing the perso lock thing.
