Hello,
There are many answers to your problem. When I used cm9, I installed S2E, it was wonderful and I had 145 Mb free. Now with cm10 I'm using Data2sd (by jikantaru). You can also use Link2sd, or mount2sd, app2sd, etc.

I'm actually using SpeedDroid, which is the smoothest rom I found for my WFS. But S2E doesn't work (my SD card partition is done with CWM, 1Go EXT and 128Mo Swap). I tried A2SD++, Int2Ext+, Data2SD, no one work. I'll try Link2sd.
Thanks for your answer !

If it doesn't work try mount2sd... It wasn't working for me, but maybe it will on SpeedDroid.

1. You need a data2sd script. You can try link2sd or S2E for CM just in case too.
2. There is a fully functional guide given in index which pics too. Refer to that, you can't just go wrong. Also you can use CWM to make a partition.. I recommend the tutorial one.

I am personally using int2ext+, the link is given in the thread of cm10 for marvel. It works fine and, as far as I can see, doesn't affect performance.

after a few hours of searching and reading on xda and google, i understand the reasoning for aligning partitions on the SD card, but i just cant find a clear set of instructions on how to do so. I´ve read Sibre´s thread on partitioning, which mostly made sense but the calculations seems a little confusing. I have a 16gb class 6 SD card.
Currently my SD card is partitioned as Fat32 + EXT4 (1gb), which was done with gparted, aligned to MiB.
1: does anyone know of an easy to follow guide?
2: Is there an app (or command line string) that can show the details of an SD cards current partition configuration, and/or confirm if its correctly aligned?
i just use ext4 recovery... not the touch one, its still too large, i dont want to brick my phone... but the normal one it great!
this recovery will do all you asked for and all you need.
There is no reason to re-partition your SD card, unless you wanna use a ROM with DATA2SD (which needs an EXT-partition with 1,5 GB - 2 GB). For the rest of the ROM's your setup should be totally fine.
If you really need to partition your SD card, the easiest is to do it with recovery (my recommendations are 4EXT or RMD). The alternative should only be GParted, nothing else! Please do not use something like Rom Manager or Partition Wizard if you want to have the rewards of your SD card!

Thanks for info. Im currently using MIUI-XJ D2EXT rom, but have been trying CM7.1 which seems quite laggy in comparison. Manu´s Kernel seems to give best performance, have also tried tiamat´s.
I wasn´t quite sure if the lag in CM7.1 was due to SD alignment, as i was using D2SD.

I can appreciate that others have a better experience on theirs with cm7, but not so in the case on mine. As much as i´d like to be using cm7 (as i really like the options), it doesn´t perform near as well as miui-xj d2ext on my desire. Possibly the D2SD is causing the lag.
CM7 in itself is a fast rom and doesn't really support any "xxx-2SD" that's why we say that the ROM doesn't lag.
Since the hardware limitations of our device, we are 'forced' to apply 'hacks' to get the most out of it. I haven't flashed/used any scripts but I do use S2E app on the market and haven't experienced any lag with CM7. Yes there is a possibility that the D2SD you are using is causing the lag.
Check out this excellent tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning
on cm7 i suggest a2sd ONLY, NOT dalvik/caches 2 sd, NOT data to sd, NOT a2sdx
simple a2sd using, oddly simple2ext, or one of the unofficial scripts given out in the CM7 nightly thread... (gingervillian uses darktremors a2sd, but even that causes lag with dalvik2sd)
https://market.android.com/developer?pub=OlegKrikun
if you use anything else you are likely to cause lag.
I've used ClockWorkMod Recovery for partitioning my sd-card. I'm running Runnymede AIO V4.0 SE now. No problems at all.

Hello guys please tell me the best custom ROM for
my htc wildfire S
for best performance and installing more apps
The amount of apps you can install depends on which you choose Link2sd or Data2sd. Choose link2sd if your card is of class 4 or less. Go for data2sd only if you have a good card..
Almost all the ROMs are good here...
Personally I prefer these according to their spec.
Sense 2.1 / GB2.3.5
Wildchild
hensemod
Mindhaxor GB2.3.5 The thread was deleted so sorry can't get you the link.
Sense 3.5/ GB 2.3.5
EQDKP 3.5
CM7
CM9 Alpha 3 Im using this currently.
Also these ROMS are also a go:

I have both HTC Wildfire S and HTC Explorer. I would still prefer Wildfire S over explorer. The only drawback of WFS is that the processor is slightly older.
But WFS has a good android development team but there is just a single ROM for Explorer.
Go for Wildfire S. Its worth it.

Custom WFS ROM on S-ON?
Can I install HenseMod7 on my S-ON Wildfire S?
Im asking this because, in the steps for installing HenseMod7 there is some steps only of S-OFF devices... That means HenseMod7 is intended for S-ON devices too (S-ON means UNROOT too)
So my question is the HenseMod7 can be installed on my UNROOTED + S-ON Wildfire S?

You need SOff or S-On with unlocked bootloader + root.
The Wildfire S has that really irritating low internal memory problem when on stock.
Use the Data2SD flashable ZIP included with most ROMs posted up there. You can use ROM Manager to quickly partition your SD card (but it formats it so you lose all data on it).
If you use a Sense ROM, then Facebook for HTC Sense will pump your ContactStorage with profile pics, so even if you do Link2SD (which doesn't link system apps), you might run into low mem after a few 1000 messages and syncing contacts with fb.
.theme prob
.guys i've downloaded some themes for this ROM alpha6.
.after applying these themes, nothing happens. i mean, icons are still the same.
.the only theme that worked for me is the outline theme for cm9.
.anyone with the same prob? thanks for the ROM though its great
MIUI V4 is the best Rom.
If your'e looking for a fully stable rom then cm7...but i prefer cm9 but it's not as stable as cm7
For daily use wildchild is the best. It can play games overclock and everything else so well with lots of free internal memory.

in addition to this great post, you should also save what you want if you havent flashed your phone yet, and partition your SD card so that it will have a swap and apps partition that the phone will throw apps to instead of the phone memory by default. i have a 32GB sd card myself so it gets a 4096MB apps ext3 partition, and a 1025MB swap partition. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for better performance. by default, Android does NOT have a very large swap file, if at all. this all can be achieved by using the ClockWorkMod Recovery Image. Use that to achieve your partitions instead of using a PC.

This is the EXACT problem I have with links2sd on the wildfire s I currently have.
However, everyone suggests, on this rom and others, that if you don't have a class 6 or above card, then don't use apps2sd or data2sd (are these the same?)
I have the stock 2gb card that came in the wildfire s and I believe it's a class 2 or 4 maybe? Is this going to be a problem with the stock card?
Also I think this has to be setup as a gold card or something? I can't remember how it works with this phone
WildChild mentions that he has odex and de-odex? Which one does everyone recommend? Odex has 117 mb free, de-odex only has 77mb free.
Also Wildchild only used app2sd, not data2sd.
Hensemod uses links2sd which is where the super slowdowns on my phone are coming from per above.
How would I use data2sd instead on either of these?
(I tested my sd card speed and it's 6mb a sec easy)

I am using stock rom too.
There are many roms like cm9 which is ICS build and others are cm10 which are jelly bean builds..
You can find roms on android devlopement thread.
And for internal storage tweak first of all you need to partition your sdcard.
FAT32 :remaining
EXT3/EXT4 : 1 GB ll be enough
LINUX SWAP : 512 MB
linux swap partition isnt madatory except link2sd.but you hv 16 GB memory card so make that partition too.it works as backup RAM.its 512 MB because wildfire s has 512 MB RAM.
ALL PARTITIONS SHOULD BE PRIMARY AND YOU CAN MAKE THEM BY MINIPARTITIONAL TOOL ON WINDOWS.
There are many tweaks for internal memory link2sd,mounts2sd and int2ext+
Best one is int2ext+ but for that you need custom rom with init.d suppport..
Tell me if u need more help.good luck

haha.okay man dnt worry.
so for rooting.follow this tutorial:
http://www.htcwildfiresblog.com/2012/03/guide-to-rooting-htc-wildfire-s-235-s.html
in this tutorial first you need to make account from htcdev.com and then follow instructions on that page:
(IN TUTORIAL YOU FIND STEP 1,UPDATE YOUR BOOTLOADER BUT IF YOUR PHONE HAS LATEST UPDATE 2.26 ,THEN YOU DONT NEED TO UPDATE IT.YOU WILL SEE THAT INSTUCTION ON HTCDEV.COM PAGE)
then,
download rom manager from play store and install clockworkmod recovery.( its necessery to flash rom, mods etc)
and most important, after flashing custom recovery(clockworkmod) make backup of your current rom.because if you want to come back to your stock rom,it ll be helpfull.
about roms:
there are stable cm9 as well as cm10 roms.
cm9 is very stable,no major bugs except little lag on camera ( negligible) and camcorder record at 15 fps.
cm10 has some bugs but you can see jellyking rom on android devlopement page.people said its very stable.so you can use it if you want taste of jelly bean.
and there are another option like MIUI which has best UI. and sense 3.5 roms.
thats all.
i am using my stock rom because i like my sense best, stable, not a single bug and works good.

MW9.5 is very stable. How did you partition your SD card? Suggest you to wipe everything, re-partition if needed and flash. Everything should be working just fine.
Alternatively, you can try other MW ROMs like the one based on CM or oxygen. They're working perfectly too.

You are probably low on space because you are still on stock hboot.
Nandroid backup and change hboot using fastbout commands, search for guides. There are custom hboots posted in that thread if your search. Or just use something like cm7r2 hboot.
512mb is also quite small, you can use at least 1gb.
Check everything is working by installing another app like diskusage to browse all your partitions.

AFAIK= as far as I know.
I meant the ROM that you are running is stable, so its likely a problem on your end. Try doing a full wipe and reinstall it.
