Hi all,
We are looking for volunteers to beta test Screencast on the Nexus. You will need to have it rooted, and will get a free license for participating.
Search the market for "Screencast Video Recorder" and click on "contact developer" to send me an email (cannot post email in thread policy thingiimajigger).
Requirements:
Rooted Galaxy Nexus
Willing to test new builds and report back.
Familiar with adb
Benefits:
Help bring Screencast to the GNexus

This would be great. Much better than having to shoot a video of yourself doing things (installing ROMS, unlocking, etc) for posting. I use Camtasia on my PC and this seems pretty similar. I hope they are still working on a GNEX version.

What's the status of this app with the Galaxy Nexus? I could use it today and would buy it in an instant if it works with the GN.

What's the delay on this? Is the system still blocking you from recording it?
I was asking myself why this doesn't work after I saw some videos in YouTube that were recorded on GNexii. Not bashing this app; it's more of a "how the hell did they do that" than a "why does my favorite screen capture app doesn't work yet in my newfangled device"?

I think most restrictions were applied to the Verizon models, and devs simply gave up working on the GSM one (which is a "truer" Nexus, since it's actually the worldly phone).

Please note this has only been tested on the T-Mobile UVALH2 variant of the Galaxy S3!
Note: Make sure you clear your exchange settings before flashing any of the zips...it'll help to avoid any possible issues!

Just resigned and uploaded....should be good now. I know the signature varies from variant to variant....

No, but in order to access the email servers....you may need the PIN. Not too familiar with the whole company exchange department....quite frankly not sure if it even matters....but the disclaimer is there just in case...

OK I'm gonna have to find out what's going on. I'm gonna post the individual apks in a few. Not sure if the flashable zip is causing the FC.
EDIT: Just uploaded some alternatives....it's not a signature issue...

What build were these based off of. People here are using a bunch of different builds so if its a stock app that could be part of the problem.
Those who are having problems, try the stock one from 1st post and see if it works.

It came from the VZW variant, which also came from the Int'l i9300 variant...
Looks like I'm going to have to do a version for T-Mobile then....since the versions seems to be so different. I had no idea they'd vary so differently, since they're all running the same software. Thats what I get for owning my 1st Touchwiz device.....you learn the hard way. Always been on AOSP or HTC Sense before now lol

I have relocated from India to Germany and when I try to download from Samsung store it shows that I need to change the country in my Samsung account.. But there is no direct way to edit it.. Is there a way around?

LOL... I'm from the US too but for Samsung accounts, UK accounts are so much better. They gave out free copies of MC3 and Asphalt 7 for free. Needless to say, I made a new UK account and enabled UK region in market enabler and downloaded them for free.

It seems that the Google messed up the manifest file, making Play Store assume it wasn't compatible with our little Nexus 7, school boy error. Any way that should be fixed pretty soon, best wait and download from a known source.

I don't see the point of any links, it's readily available from the market when I updated it last night... I can't imagine it's been "broken" since then, so at least 16 hours as of this post.

I used it for a bit then found out it's security is non existent. Basically anyone could get any info from your phone using this launchers data.

This is factually incorrect. Maybe you should re-read whatever article you're garnering that from. The API is publicly accessible, but it only contains lists of installed apps. It used to include location, but no longer does. Couple that with that the fact you would need to know the IMEI of the phone you were trying to access to get their ID, I would hardly say "anyone could get any info from your phone". The developers also said they are addressing the access availability of the API. There's no need to spread false information. I personally use it, and if I felt the security issue was as dire as you portray, then I wouldn't.

Yep, I read that too. It had already been updated by the time Koush made that post. His main gripe was that the API is accessible to the public. Which, I completely understand, but its not really a real world problem. Sorry, didn't mean to jump all over your ****.
