I'm unsure (been forever since I used the toolkit) but you would get better results from either posting in Q&A or in the Toolkit thread. I requested this thread be moved to Q&A.
thank, my bad i thought iwas posting in q&a please mod move over
please delete i'll go to q&a and post there
Please be careful where you post.

So i ran across this article and really want to try the new apps but im not sure how to install them using odin and i don't really want to root my s3. The model im using is the is the (SGH-T999 T-MOBILE). It would be great if someone could help me out by letting me know how to install these without rooting.

In short - no, there are libraries that need to be copied over with the apks. Also, you may get better responses in the actual t-mobile GS3 forum.

RE: QPST Backup thread
I tried to reply to last post to that thread but since im new i cant (im not new here this is just a new account as i dont like my old nick name) so if a mod wants to move this thread and make it a reply in that thread it would be great or just give me access to post in dev then i will delete this thread and post a reply to the correct thread there.
I am not root if that matters
I have a SPRINT SPH-L710 (Galaxy S3) with stock Rom and no root or anything.
I have not lost my IMEI i just want to a regular backup
I have followed directions perfect and i can see my phone in backup section under Port (just like im supposed to)
I enter my SPC and hit "Start Button" to start backup procedure and it unlocks phone and starts to read phone and backing up.
it makes it to 47% every time and says
Status = Memory Backup Failed
Errors = Received an invalid command from the phone
so if a mod wants to move this into the last reply in this thread
"[FIX/TOOL] Backup/Restore/Fix IMEI & Data Restore Tool v3.0 - Updated 11/01/2012!!!" it would be great or if mod wants to give my acct permissions to post in the dev section i will make the correct reply
thanks
you could have just requested a new nickname instead of creating a new account moreover if you are not new here , like you've said , then you'd probably what the faith of this thread will be , if not , I'll give ya some clue - it won't be moved to form reply of another thread nor will you be granted permissions to post in dev sections
why fix it if it ain't broken ?
First...XDA rules state you can only have one account so please PM me the username of your other account so we can straighten this out.
Second you could have just asked your question in Q&A where this is being moved to.

at least i tried
guess i would have done better to say nothing at all
Ok so basically all i have done is i rooted it. i tried following this tutorial:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1718665 but i get
to step one and i looked in every folder i dont have a nv_data.bin file. i also tried googleing it but that took me to some website to pay for an unlock code which i think is a scam, is it? but i would like to do it for free is there any other tutorials you guys can link me to? and help me. and Will i need to cut my Tmobile sim card so it fits in the S3? it doesnt seem to just fit? Please help thanks!
Follow instructions in this thread to unlock your S3. I have done it, and it works fine (as long as you follow everything).
Pretty straight forward.

As long as its a T-Mobile t989 s2
go to http://techerratta.com/browse/twrp2/hercules
Download 2.6 tar file and use use Odin to install, and remember the phone is only as crappy as u let it become, u could always use kies to update to official 4.1.2

I'm selling my rooted Sprint Galaxy S3. I would like to leave it rooted , but also remove all my personal data. I think I should delete any backups I made but am not sure what else I need to do. Also when I first rooted I flashed CWM and after flashed TWRP through goo manager. Is it safe now to delete the CWM files as I'm not sure how much information is stored there presently. Can someone please advise me? Thanks in advance!!
Why did you make a second thread asking the exact same thing? I gave you an answer in the first thread you created. Please dont make duplicate threads.
