Got a evo 1900mah battery to fit in my Inc 2 by cutting a plastic tab so it would slide in, and then I took off the red wrapping on the battery so the back door would fit on correctly. Worked great all day then I went to charge it and nothing....
Anyone know if u need a different charger or something?
Thx

I've used a regular EVO battery on my Dinc1 & Dinc2 with no problems. Not sure why yours wouldn't charge properly... odd indeed.
I just tried another battery from a evo 4g and didn't remove the red covering and still can't get it to charge..
pick up one of those universal anker battery chargers. Their great, and then you never have to plug your phone in as you charge 1 battery as you use the other

In case you need an extended battery now, I can report success with a Mugen 3200mAh unit that was intended for a Sprint Touch Pro 2. It cost $70 or 80 when I bought it around Christmas time from an eBay vendor (couldn't find it anywhere else online). Turns out the person I got it for had a Touch Pro 1 and this battery was not compatible so it's been sitting around the house ever since. I just popped it into my EVO 4G and it works perfectly as far as I can tell. Boots up normally and is charging as expected. Of course the back plate does not fit over the fat battery so I left that off and replaced the jelly case which stretches over the whole thing well enough.

Hero batteries work also.. a lot of HTC phone's use the same batteries. I have like 4 batteries for my evo lol
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280492889203&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I bought these a while back.. worked great in my hero and work just as good in my evo. Plus now I have a standalone wall-charger. Took about a week or so to get here since its coming from Hong Kong.. But it was well worth the ~$10 for 2 batteries and a charger..
ok, i stole its soul for you.
well im glad i order mine from seidio since it comes with the back case but this is good info so i can pass my oem battery to my wife for hero hero with weak battery life
Lol. Nice evo . It's the humpback of xda.

that is disgusting! but more power to you hahaha...lets hope seidio lets you buy just the ext battery cover
oh sweet mother of god i would feel all grossed out if i tried to handle my phone and it was all squishy at the parts that aren't touching the battery or the frame...
How's the battery life with the 3200? After doing some battery life tweaks and mods mine seems to almost be sufficent with the stocker, but it can always use some improvement.
If you don't mind sacrificing the case, I would try cutting a rectangle in it that would leave the protruding part of the battery exposed and let the case hug the phone the way its supposed to. If you cut it just right, the batt should stay in place since it looks like it has a bit of an edge for the case to grip on to.
I'M starting think I should just cancel my order for the 3500 battery and get me 2 1500. What do you guys think?

I'm using the battery from my tp2 as a spare, and carry it in the smaller pocket in my jeans,i don't even feel it there sometimes. With battery tweaks and charging it in my car (usually around 30 min at a time), I only have to occasionally change to the 2nd battery. If you are sensitive to bulk, then go for 2 batteries to split the load, otherwise a bigger battery is more convenient.

Given some of the results from BatteryBoss, I'd say that the battery isn't going to perform at a full 3500mAh. It will still be more than an OEM battery, sure, but I couldn't justify doubling the size of the phone to put it in. You might be better off getting another OEM battery, HTC seems to give about 99% of what they say.
if that site batteryboss is accurate then Mugen's batteries are crap. twice the size for 50% more juice. however, some anecdotal evidence to the contrary: after buying the wrong one, i bought another Mugen extended battery that does work for the TP1 and the recipient is very happy with it. reports that the 3200mAh it lasts about twice as long as the OEM battery.
probably smart to just get another HTC 1500mAh. after the latest update battery drain is much less of an issue anyway.
So can I just go in to a sprint store and ask for a hero battery For free?

The batteries + charger that was listed earlier in this thread work GREAT I've been using them for a few days now great freaking deal ($10 shippped)
Anyone know if the Tilt battery here will fit the Evo with a modified case / back plate? http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Extended-Li-Ion-Battery-RHOD170/dp/B002Y24MJ2
I know Seidio makes a modified back plate that looks like it would fit this and according to battery boss this is the gold standard of extended batteries.
Also confirmed, the Mugen 4500mAh battery for Sprint Touch Pro 2 works in the Evo as expected. It's very... thick. About as thick as the Evo with a jelly sleeve on. Put together it's like the Evo has it's own little podium to stand on.
Assuming batteryboss tests are accurate then true capacity is closer to 75% or ~3375mAh. Main purpose for me is a power supply that can run GPS tracking apps like Cardio Trainer all day uninterrupted. Thickness not an issue since the whole package is tucked away in a Camelback.
Got it on eBay, I don't know where else to find them. Mugen is OOS and ridiculously expensive anyway. An alternative would be an external battery pack that supplies power through a USB port, then cable it to Evo.
Okay, so some guy that my co-workers know brought in a bag of cellphone chargers and cellphone batteries. There are 3 batteries that fit perfectly in the MyTouch slide, they're htc branded and I'm wondering if they'll be compatible with the MyTouch. I don't exactly know what to look for to tell if they are or aren't compatible.
Whatever you guys need to know that's on the batteries, just tell me and I'll post it.
Two of the batteries are red, so I'm assuming it's from the Droid Incredible and th third battery may be from an older htc phone because the battery says "htc innovation" whereas the red ones say just "htc" and the MyTouch's is also just "htc"
The 3 batteries are all 1500 mAh 5.55Whr Model: RHOD160
The MyTouch's battery is 1300 MAh 4.81Whr Model: BB00100
So from the information I gave you guys, tell me if it is compatible please
Yes they are compatable I've been using a hero battery for a while now

I've got this battery too. Bought it on eBay advertised as a Touch Pro 2 battery. I used it for a little until I realized it's too "thick" for the shallow battery space in the Slide. A few hours of charging that battery in my phone and my battery door seemed to warp a little. From that point on, if I used the stock battery, the door would squeak and creak. I don't use the TP2 battery anymore.

Yeah, the batteries are a bit too big, but by a very little amount. I probably won't use the batteries then since I don't really want my batter door turning out like yours . I guess I'm gonna have to go back to conditioning the stock battery again.

Yeah, it's not worth it. I conditioned my stock battery pretty well (completely dead, charged til light turned green, then 2 additional hours, 5 times) and it's getting awesome life. A full day of texting, calls, web browsing, and an hour or two of Pandora at work, with life to spare, no problem.
Just wondering if anybody has purchased this? I just did because it was $24.99 lol and because there seems to be good reviews on the Evo battery of the same power. Im looking for some sort of advice to conditioning it specifically for the Epic. I have an Evo guide , but not sure if its the same deal.
Hey Im actually going to purchase it too... Same power as the $50 dollar battery and Im all about saving money... Lots of good reviews I saw on the site.. why dont you try the calibrate method on the battery and go from there..
1) Charge phone (while turned on) till full/green light.
2) Remove charger pwr off and then plug back in and let charge till green light
3) After green light remove charger and power on fully..
4)Once fully on, pwr phone off and then plug charger back in till green light
That should calibrate the battery.. See if that helps and let me know how the battery holds up to the $50 battery
I have used this battery, returned it just for the fact of how it makes the phone look, otherwise the battery worked great!
extended battery
barefaced,
How did it make it look? Was the phone to fat afterwards? I am interested in buying this then saw your post. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
It was just too thick for me, it I would guess about doubles the size of the device. I just picked up one of those spare charging stations with battery.
Let us.know how that battery works please. I would be interested.

These extended batteries are junk
Search on ebay for N21 extended battry for epic. I got these for my 2 Epics and they are awesome! $21 and lasts twice as long if you don't mind the larger back battery cover.

I have one and it works pretty well, not a fan of the big bump in the back. It got some getting used to. I am fine with it now. I get 3-4 days of use (I am a light user though)
just bought this one myself. I cant wait to try it out. 3500 is good. I wounder how it compairs to the seido 3200mha or the mugen power. I also noticed that they do not have a full line like Seido online does.
i will post pics after i get it.,
If it helps I have an evo and seidio 3500 w myns rls5, netarchy kernel @ 1152 w live wallpaper running and I get 35-40 hours w decent use and 1/2 on wifi. Im really happy. My wife an epic w stock battery and I pales in comparison to my evo. Hopefully its a good quality cells. I have had mine 2 mo and monitor its life prettywell. If its like mine you would have been just as happy to pay $65 so $25 is a steal

So I was messing around with my old eris and to my surprise the battery fit in my Incredible 2. Now I did had to flip the battery over for the prongs to match up, do you guys think it would be safe to use the battery?

No. The polarity will be reversed and that just asking for something to go wrong.

There is another thread like this, they said they tested the polarity and all 4 were the same. Might work in a pinch, but not advised.

Errg oh well it was worth a try
In post number 30 on the third page of this thread I talk about the Eris battery for thie DInc2. I have been using my 1750mAh battery from my Eris off and on for a while now with no problems. Make sure you look at the post I am talking about. You can't put it in backwards, but you have to remove the corners. It works fine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159213&highlight=mAh&page=3
It definitely works, polarity is not an issue. Stock Eris battery is lower capacity, but it's good in a pinch. It actually saved me over the weekend when I forgot to put my phone on the charger overnight.
Ok I've looked for a similar problem and tried to fix the issue on my own but I admit defeat and need help. Recently my battery started acting funny while charging and don't know why. I'll have it on the charger it will begin to charge and then all of a sudden my EVO 4G will disconnect and there will be a yellow triangle warning over the battery in the status bar. And if you try unplugging and plugging it back in makes no difference same thing will happen. I've tried wiping battery stats and also tried pulling the battery and reinserting it but no dice. Any help is welcome. Thank You in advance.
Time for a new battery. Are u using the oem charger?
Sent From Space Using My ICS Flavored Sensation
yes I am. Is it just a faulty battery?
Yep, I'd say your battery has passed on to the great beyond....
The warning sign over battery means the phone is not communicating with the battery properly which can mean a few things, either the terminals on the battery or phone are damaged or dirty, or the battery has started to go south it has a bad voltage regulator or bad cell
We are legion, for we are many
Ok so I guess it's time to get a new battery........that sucks
Check your terminals make sure they aren't dirty or bent if they are dirty a qtip and 91% isopropyl alcohol works wonders if bent a #1 precicion flathead is a good tool to reshape them or a pair of round nose jewelers pliers
We are legion, for we are many
Weird thing I pulled my battery, rebooted the phone and it seems to be taking charge normally again.......I'm still gonna invest in a new battery since the possibility of this happening again seems big. Any suggestions on a reliable extended battery? I've heard of gorilla something or another but not too sure............
Goriila gadgets 3500 anker 1700 or empire 1800 anker and empire fit in stock door

Thank you all for the help. Nothing seems out of sorts except for the battery so I placed an order for one. Still have my old battery that the phone came with so I'll use that until the extended one gets here. Thank you once again
@theMC1192
If you dont mind me asking where did you order your battery from im looking for an extended battery.
Hey,
The first thing when you have an issue with your phone sprint tells you to take out the battery and reboot it can solve many problems! For a reliable extended I would get the Seidio, or go to sprint and get one of their extended batts they are more expensive but you are guarantied quality unlike those cheap 6 dollar ones.
