Just wondering if anybody has purchased this? I just did because it was $24.99 lol and because there seems to be good reviews on the Evo battery of the same power. Im looking for some sort of advice to conditioning it specifically for the Epic. I have an Evo guide , but not sure if its the same deal.
Hey Im actually going to purchase it too... Same power as the $50 dollar battery and Im all about saving money... Lots of good reviews I saw on the site.. why dont you try the calibrate method on the battery and go from there..
1) Charge phone (while turned on) till full/green light.
2) Remove charger pwr off and then plug back in and let charge till green light
3) After green light remove charger and power on fully..
4)Once fully on, pwr phone off and then plug charger back in till green light
That should calibrate the battery.. See if that helps and let me know how the battery holds up to the $50 battery
I have used this battery, returned it just for the fact of how it makes the phone look, otherwise the battery worked great!
extended battery
barefaced,
How did it make it look? Was the phone to fat afterwards? I am interested in buying this then saw your post. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
It was just too thick for me, it I would guess about doubles the size of the device. I just picked up one of those spare charging stations with battery.
Let us.know how that battery works please. I would be interested.

Search on ebay for N21 extended battry for epic. I got these for my 2 Epics and they are awesome! $21 and lasts twice as long if you don't mind the larger back battery cover.

I have one and it works pretty well, not a fan of the big bump in the back. It got some getting used to. I am fine with it now. I get 3-4 days of use (I am a light user though)
just bought this one myself. I cant wait to try it out. 3500 is good. I wounder how it compairs to the seido 3200mha or the mugen power. I also noticed that they do not have a full line like Seido online does.
i will post pics after i get it.,
If it helps I have an evo and seidio 3500 w myns rls5, netarchy kernel @ 1152 w live wallpaper running and I get 35-40 hours w decent use and 1/2 on wifi. Im really happy. My wife an epic w stock battery and I pales in comparison to my evo. Hopefully its a good quality cells. I have had mine 2 mo and monitor its life prettywell. If its like mine you would have been just as happy to pay $65 so $25 is a steal

In case you need an extended battery now, I can report success with a Mugen 3200mAh unit that was intended for a Sprint Touch Pro 2. It cost $70 or 80 when I bought it around Christmas time from an eBay vendor (couldn't find it anywhere else online). Turns out the person I got it for had a Touch Pro 1 and this battery was not compatible so it's been sitting around the house ever since. I just popped it into my EVO 4G and it works perfectly as far as I can tell. Boots up normally and is charging as expected. Of course the back plate does not fit over the fat battery so I left that off and replaced the jelly case which stretches over the whole thing well enough.

Hero batteries work also.. a lot of HTC phone's use the same batteries. I have like 4 batteries for my evo lol

I bought these a while back.. worked great in my hero and work just as good in my evo. Plus now I have a standalone wall-charger. Took about a week or so to get here since its coming from Hong Kong.. But it was well worth the ~$10 for 2 batteries and a charger..
ok, i stole its soul for you.
well im glad i order mine from seidio since it comes with the back case but this is good info so i can pass my oem battery to my wife for hero hero with weak battery life
Lol. Nice evo . It's the humpback of xda.

that is disgusting! but more power to you hahaha...lets hope seidio lets you buy just the ext battery cover
oh sweet mother of god i would feel all grossed out if i tried to handle my phone and it was all squishy at the parts that aren't touching the battery or the frame...
How's the battery life with the 3200? After doing some battery life tweaks and mods mine seems to almost be sufficent with the stocker, but it can always use some improvement.
If you don't mind sacrificing the case, I would try cutting a rectangle in it that would leave the protruding part of the battery exposed and let the case hug the phone the way its supposed to. If you cut it just right, the batt should stay in place since it looks like it has a bit of an edge for the case to grip on to.
I'M starting think I should just cancel my order for the 3500 battery and get me 2 1500. What do you guys think?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I'm using the battery from my tp2 as a spare, and carry it in the smaller pocket in my jeans,i don't even feel it there sometimes. With battery tweaks and charging it in my car (usually around 30 min at a time), I only have to occasionally change to the 2nd battery. If you are sensitive to bulk, then go for 2 batteries to split the load, otherwise a bigger battery is more convenient.

Given some of the results from BatteryBoss, I'd say that the battery isn't going to perform at a full 3500mAh. It will still be more than an OEM battery, sure, but I couldn't justify doubling the size of the phone to put it in. You might be better off getting another OEM battery, HTC seems to give about 99% of what they say.
if that site batteryboss is accurate then Mugen's batteries are crap. twice the size for 50% more juice. however, some anecdotal evidence to the contrary: after buying the wrong one, i bought another Mugen extended battery that does work for the TP1 and the recipient is very happy with it. reports that the 3200mAh it lasts about twice as long as the OEM battery.
probably smart to just get another HTC 1500mAh. after the latest update battery drain is much less of an issue anyway.

The batteries + charger that was listed earlier in this thread work GREAT I've been using them for a few days now great freaking deal ($10 shippped)
Anyone know if the Tilt battery here will fit the Evo with a modified case / back plate? http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Extended-Li-Ion-Battery-RHOD170/dp/B002Y24MJ2
I know Seidio makes a modified back plate that looks like it would fit this and according to battery boss this is the gold standard of extended batteries.
Also confirmed, the Mugen 4500mAh battery for Sprint Touch Pro 2 works in the Evo as expected. It's very... thick. About as thick as the Evo with a jelly sleeve on. Put together it's like the Evo has it's own little podium to stand on.
Assuming batteryboss tests are accurate then true capacity is closer to 75% or ~3375mAh. Main purpose for me is a power supply that can run GPS tracking apps like Cardio Trainer all day uninterrupted. Thickness not an issue since the whole package is tucked away in a Camelback.
Got it on eBay, I don't know where else to find them. Mugen is OOS and ridiculously expensive anyway. An alternative would be an external battery pack that supplies power through a USB port, then cable it to Evo.
I bought it and it finally came in today...all I can say is it's the best money I have spent. The fit and quality and reserve power is amazing. Out of the box it had 56% life. I have tried draining it with movies, qik, anything that pulls juice...gps on, wifi on (i know it actually uses less batt on wifi but I have 12m net lol), even have the brightness up...after 2 1/2 hours I have only pulled it down to 40%!
I know there are other batteries that are very cheap compared to this unit but I can say fit is excellent. Power is shocking...it is well worth the $65 to own such a power, well designed battery and back plate. The non skid coating doesnt even fly off my center console anymore. GREAT PRODUCT! very satisfied!

I can't post links yet due to post count so you will have to play around with my links to see them. Add http and also dot com to Amazon.
Seidio looks like this:
amazon/Seidio-Innocell-Extended-Battery-Black/dp/B003SNIR7Y
I personally don't like the "bulky" square look on this one. I opted for the Quickshippers version. Much more smooth and "cleaner." Not to mention about 1/2 the price.
amazon/SHIPPING-UPGRADE-3500mAh-Extended-Battery/dp/B0042TY68C
Was in the market for a new case until I saw the Quickshippers battery... My main concern has always been camera protection.. The battery cover alone looks like it would do the job, no?
also anyone in the market for these extended batteries. There is kernel developed that allows for full charging of the them. SBC kernal it comes in sense and AOSP
Here is the link for the Quickshippers option. If anyone has this, let me know what you think in regards to protecting the camera in particular.

I have the same battery and have a couple of tricks you may or may not know. I get about two days out of mine with moderate to heavy usage.
1. when the charge light goes green, the batt isn't full. charge about 3 or more hours over to get a full charge. I charge mine overnight and it's good. If you remove right after the light goes green you will not see much difference from the stock battery.
2. I just recently started running Calkulin's new kernel. I'll give you the link. I use the one that says SBC for Netarchy's CFS More Aggressive 4.2.1 (aka 131) 131.zip (2.91 MB). Find the one that best suites your rom, This one kicks ass. Scroll down to the second post. Here's the link- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876590
3. as far as turning things off while not using them, that's up to you. I dont and I still get the great life.
Hope this might help! Enjoy that awesome batt. By the way, bout the green light, the phone only recognizes either when the batt reaches 1500 or it reaches the proper voltage that makes the phone think the batt is full. It was set that way for use with the stock batt. This is what I've read bout and recognized from personal experience.
Not sure I want to **** w the kernel atm. I managed 60 hours and charge the phone every 2 days...its amazing

That's great time. If it works great. The one I spoke of is supposed to be the newest and hottest thing out because of its ability to trickle charge the batt. When I take the phone off charge, it stays at 100% for hours if I dont use it. I've taken it off charge in the morning before just to test it and woke up bout 4 hours later and the phone was still at 100%. I've never fully tested to see how long mine will last as far as hours. I could guess that I would get at least the same as you. For instance, I took it off charge yesterday about 10am and right now I have 61%, granted I have had it connected to the computer a couple of times to download and transfer stuff.
I purchased the Sieidio Battery 1750mAh on Amazon about a month ago. This battery is not worth the money at all. If you want an extra battery then I suggest buying an OEM battery.
I might be wrong but I think this battery actually goes down faster than the one that came with the phone. My biggest problem with this battery is that it does not fit properly in the phone. It can just be set down or place in my pocket and that is enough to make the phone.
DON'T wast you money on this battery

I got two 1800mAh batteries for about $30, and experienced the same thing. After awhile though, I realized that you have to do a few things to get better battery life.
1) Charge the battery to full while the phone is on.
2) Unplug and plug back in to verify that the phone is fully charged (green led)
3) Turn the phone off
4) Unplug, plug in, and wait for a green led
5) Repeat that 5-10 times
6) Then while still plugged in, reboot into Recovery and wipe the battery stats via the advanced menu.
7) Reboot, and use your phone as you normally would.
This may sound like alot, but it really only take about 5 mins. Even after wipe, it will still take about 5 full discharges to reap the better battery life. Hope this helps!
I think its just luck of the draw on aftermarket batteries (the cheap ones at least)
I have heard good and bad on ALL of them.
I got the Chichitec/htcexpress 1800 batteries with charger. Came in the other day and I couldn't be happier. 14 hours on initial charge, that's unheard of for me. On my stock battery I had to keep the phone plugged in most of the day at work just to still have juice by the time I got home. And supposedly these things start acting even better after a few charge cycles.
(Fits with stock battery door too)
But for every person that has a good experience with any of these companies, there's someone else with a horror story.

Could have told you that before you bought it, ratings by aftermarket reputable companies are close and never accurate...if they rate it at 1750, it's probably 1500-1650... The stock is 1500 so yes you wasted your money. Now on the other hand, the 3500 is the best investment anyone could ever make....
It's been proven long ago seidio over rates their batteries. The "1750" is actually just under 1500, so less capacity then the stock battery.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
just terribad in my opinion, gonna stick to my seidio 3500. rather have the size and life than a small size and a measly bump from the 1750mah battery
They rated it less than a 1500 stock battery.
Key with extended batteries is that you actually have to charge them longer than your phone indicates.
Example: I phone said it was fully charged at 3:26am in the morning. Yet it continue to charge until at least 6:45am before it was constant. Granted I am using an SBC kernel but even without, you need to let it charge the night. Don't let the green light fool you. It takes a few extra hours to charge even if the led light is green!
You should just about fully drain your battery and then let it charge overnight. If you aren't on an SBC kernel you may actually want to charge your phone while it's off so that the battery dictates the charge.
You should also wipe your battery stats once the phone is fully charged.
Try that and see if it works for you. I know that I was getting great battery life even on the stock battery. I play "Word With friends" (at least 15 matches running) a lot (at least 15 matches running concurrently) and this game actually drains battery. I still got through the day fine though I also carry a Touch Pro 2 and having the batteries that are the same size allows me to swap when needed.
I have the 2650mah one from sprint and my 3500mah seidio coming in the mail tomorrow. I'll probably write a review for it later. Note, On my 2650mah, it's already on its 12th hour and I was was playing WWF, surfing the web, made several calls and it's still at 77%. I will leave it off the charger tonight and see how it fairs tomorrow.
Good Luck!
I have tested these and if they do last longer then stock, it is only like maybe 20 mins. I have an external charger as well as running the SBC kernel to get a complete charge. I have the sprint 2600 battery as well and love it. Not many cases for it but I have modified a sedio rugged and ballistic to work with it. I let my wife use it for a few days in her evo and had to fight to get it back from her.

Well anything higher than 1600mah will cause the phone to get really fat.
I posted link above.

I got one of those fat batteries from amazon and it doesn't seem to last that much longer than a standard battery. It also makes the phone look pregnant.

Well actually the battery was working fine when I received it. What you want to do is once you have the battey, deplete it till it fully drains out of power. Then recharge it with the charger they supplied you, don't charge it throu the phone. Once you see its fully charged. Chharge it for at least 1 hour more and u will get the full capacity of the battery. If your vibrant has a good kernel u will be set for 2 days straight. Hope that helps. Am using overstocked kernel

I just bought a generic 3500MAH battery for the Vibrant off Amazon for $15. No regrets so far.
You can get the Momax 1700mah battery for $17 from ioomobile or $19 from ebay. Both with free shipping
I use an original vibrant battery in my i9000 too so the momax will fit the vibrant/i9003.
Please, tell me how are your results. I want to have a battery with more capacity but using the same back case.
Just waiting on its arrival now. I looked into other brands, but kept finding massive amounts of negative reviews, like the Momax battery.
Like from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478270
I actually had the Touch HD version, which worked perfectly fine for me Which was why I had no issue buying it for the i9000. I have been getting around 40 hours from light/minimal usage on the MIUI.us rom. I am getting around 30-35 hours on the standard i9000 and vibrant batteries.
I also bought one of the cheap 3000mah ebay batteries but didn't have any luck with that. I was getting around 45-50 hours but after a few recharges it dropped to less than the original battery.
I firmly believe in "you get what you pay for" however I have to say I have not had any problems with the momax battery so far, touch wood.
Was it delivered? My battery is worse every day even with Bi-Winning v3 with Bullet kernel. It dies too quick! Using WCDMA with HSDPA is the same as seeing my battery % going down realtime.

There are a couple things you can do to stretch battery life without too much compromise.
First, go with a black background. There's a free app on the market that's easy to miss. Do a search for blackwallpaper, all one word. AMOLED screens love darker colors when it comes to battery usage.
Second, get a 2g/3g toggle and switch to 2g when you don't need data and are primarily just texting or playing games.
Pick up the Bali-X kernel. Lots of battery saving goodies in there. Afterward, pick up SetCPU and reduce the voltages as far as you can without getting crashes or "sleep of death" issues.
Now, even when gaming, my battery isn't too stressed, and when I left it off the charger overnight, after 9hrs it had burned through a miserly 4% battery.
Finally, get a retractable usb data/charging cable. Can be had for a penny plus a couple bucks shipping. Retractable means easily pocketable, so whenever it occurs to you, break it out and connect your phone into whatever PS3, TV, Computer, or Laptop is available that has a USB slot.
The battery hasn't arrived yet. Supposedly takes as much as two weeks. I'm waiting with baited breath!
Woohoo! The battery has arrived and is on the charger as I type. Will have photos and whatnot after I've gone through the initial charging and discharging.
What I can say for certain is that the I-9003 battery fits perfectly into a standard Samsung Vibrant. No issues whatsoever.
Thanks, dude, for your info! I would be going to the shop to get one if you review it positively. I think I will have the "Purchase" button under the mouse arrow!

Funny quote from the second review, "These third party batteries come in two flavors – one without an extended back cover and another one with a back cover, which usually adds a couple of inches thickness to the phone."
Could you imagine if it was a couple of INCHES of thickness? It'd be almost as thick as it is wide
Doing a battery drain test now. Had my phone's screen on nonstop for 2hr30min, and the battery is down to 84% (though probably slightly inaccurate still). Will see how it fairs after I've charged and discharged it a few times. No, not from 100% to 0%. From 100% to 20%. Don't want to kill my battery.
Day 2, barely used my phone today, and it's at 84% with 18hrs of time away from the charger. Screen on time of only 16 minutes. The battery is definitely lasting longer, so I think I can safely say that this is a legitimate 1700mah battery. The real test will be how well it works after a few weeks, though I have high hopes.
I've just ordered mine! It won't ship until august, the 8th.
How is it going with your battery? Doest it last noticeably more?

Just lasted over 48hrs on one charge with light use. Mostly texting and some very brief gaming and market updates. Wifi and bluetooth were on the entire time. I'm definitely seeing a noticeable improvement in battery life.

Added link to the battery and website. I feel like the 1700mah is a little conservative on their part. It feels like I'm getting more battery than the rated 200mah difference would allow. Anyway, loving the purchase, and no issues so far. Will keep everyone posted if it suddenly bursts into flames, or bakes me a pie.

Thanks for posting your results.
I've been having trouble getting my battery to last more than 24 hours. :/
Though the latest releases of CM7 seem to be the problem. I was getting 24 hours easily with other roms..
So this 1700mah battery fits in the vibrant with the original back cover?
