Which kernel and ROM should I use for best battery backup?
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
Stock based roms like myonev would be the best.
Using that but not impressive

use setcpu or some other app to select smartassv2 instead of ondemand.
Which scheduler to use?

On the KISS Thread Post # 2 there are scripts that need to be run with Script Manager. Two of the scripts help change how SmartAssV2 scales, one for performance and the other is battery friendly.
I ran the script using ROM toolbox. How to select battery preference?
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
You need to create a script widget, that's why I use Script Manager, cause it gives you that option.

So far I have tried a few different kernels
-Netarchy 4.2 cfs More agressive
-Baked kernel #6
-HTC Stock kernel #10
-Ziggy 11/5
I have seen relatively even battery life with all 4 to be quite honest, the stock kernel doesn't seem to sleep as well as the others. With any of the others I can leave the phone sit with the screen off for a couple of hours and the battery percentage will not move. With the stock kernel it seems to drop about 5-6% every 2 hours or so. HOWEVER, that is pretty applicable to when the phone is on as well. My favorite kernel performance wise so far has been Baked #6. Very smooth transitions and very stable with no issues of force closing or lag.
*I used SetCPU no overclocking with a screen off profile set up for all of these besides Ziggys. Reason being is that he has a script built into the kernel that will conflict with SetCPU if not disabled and I did not feel like doing that.
Enable always on mobile data: OFF
Background Sync: OFF
I have Watchdog installed and that's it.
Favorite so far: Baked 6 and HTC stock
I had good luck with kings#9. But my phone really dislikes kernels. Ziggs was fast but lagged hard in angry birds. Nach I had a ton of force closes. For now ill stick with htc#10. With moderate use ill see a 60% drop after my 10hr work day

Just a quick question because I have been searching high and low and I can't really decipher a lot of the lingo on these forums yet but has anyone created a ROM or a downloadable kernal/OTA update that will uncap the EVO's 30 fps cap cause its starting to tick me off a little.
I've found guides for one using clockwork recovery but I'm using amon Ra and rather enjoy it. As for ROM running kinged shooters latest odexed.
Sorry if this has been answered or solved already, I'm still semi new to the whole root business so try and cut me some slack .
Thanks, thesaint.

You can flash a kernel that will allow you to overclock the cpu that will give you more fps.
I'm not on sense and haven't been for a while but I've read good things about the freedom kernel you might want to start there.

As far as I remember, HTC "uncapped" it with one of the FroYo OTAs (3.70 maybe). I've seen more than 30 fps without doing anything special to achieve it.
Just to be sure, I downloaded Quadrant to do a benchmark test. I saw about 45fps, but this is the best I could get from trying to take screenshots:

Just ran a full Bench with quadrant. Highest I pulled was 27. Is that freedom ROM flashable with sense 3.0 and shooters 2.3 kinged ROM? If so I'd love to get my hands on it.

Yes its for any sense gb ROM.
Here is a link you want the universal one there will be 3 to choose from less, more and aggressive each one is undervolted I'm not sure on how much but less would be the least uv and aggressive is uv the the highest so you may want to try "more" to start.

You may have to mount "Data" in recovery first before flashing the kernel. I always mount "Data" before flashing the kernel any time now. It is in "Mounts" option of Amon Ra.

This is my first Post, and i want to say thank you to all on this site. And thank you again.
I have the new CM posted 7/29. It's smooth and fast. Everything works fine except for youtube crashes when i press the volume button.
Does any body has the same issue? Any fix to this?
Also i ran a Quadrant Benchmark and i notice that the cpu reading is very low compared to HTC ONE X, That shows DOUBLE readings on CPU. Is it because the Quad Core of the ONE X?
Here are my readings:
Total: 4443
CPU: 5343
MEM:11200
I/O:3351
2D:273
3D:2046.
This is a great rom, i can't wait for the new release coming soon.
Lol. It's just numbers. Performance is different in the real world.

Quad core is nice but still useless I think on a phone. Dual core is getting every job done just fine. And like the previous guy just said... it's just numbers..

You can see my kernel wake lock and screen on time and the awake time also... It doesn't make sense why the phone is awake so much.
Bbs:
I have this problem with stock and Franco.

Does any one have any ideas

Audio is caused by any sound so turn off the unneeded sounds in
Settings - sounds
Scroll right to the bottom and untick all but harpic feed back (you can untick this too) that should help with the audio wake lock.
As for the other two I'm unsure I've had them once before but restarting made it disappear maybe someone else has more information.

why don't you simply change the kernel? report your issue in that thread and while they're looking into it use another kernel

I've tried multiple kernels, I feel it might be the radio. How do I go about changing it or updating it? I never had this issue on stock.
