I found the best battery life on a job ROM for me is the aosp release from sbrissen. You can find bit in the android original development thread. But if you don't want to be on an aosp ROM you can try paranoid android. Tons of customization capabilities and a half decent battery life. Also if you can figure bout the DPI setting on the cna jelly ride ROM, its pretty decent too. I found that the pegasusq governor does a little better than the ondemand governor that comes preselected.
Agreed sbrissens build is the best battery life from my personal experience
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Sbrissen's AOSP build will get me a consistent average of 16 hours per charge.
Occasionally I will get more than 24 hours with low use and data mostly off.

Which extended battery are you using and how long have you been using the extended? From some of the other threads some people say the extended batteries go down hill rather fast. (they don't hold a charge like they did when brand new) You have any problems with it compared to when you first got it?

All depends on your setup and settings such as led light screen brightness sync and apps used but all jb ROMs have the same kernel since source is not out yet.

Hellos guys I would like to know wich Rom out there has the best battery life.??? Im running the latest juggernaut..thanks.
I would say dewizzled
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I'm not sure if you can just say best battery life is XXX as everyone's usage patterns are different and different aspects drain the battery faster than others. I have found Dewizzed to give me the best life out of all of the ones I've tried, but I don't get near the time that many post in that thread. The one difference is that when they post their usage stats I never see "Voice Calls" in the top half of the apps using battery, whereas if I look at mine right now Voice calls is #1 at 53% and Display is #2 at 18%. I use my phone heavily as a phone during the workweek, others use it as a media device, others gaming...you get the idea.
Try Dewizzed and try a couple of others. It's easy to flash and then restore or go back to one that works better for you (plus the geek in me thinkgs that is fun too).

WOW! thats pretty impressive. what's your time on display?
I was wondering the same thing. But more along the lines of which rom kernel combo people are running. Now to hijack original posters thread, but if people could also put what kernel they are running too. The best I ever got was BeastMod with Synergy, but once he left the building I don't feel like any of the other ones have been as good.

That tells us little, click on display and show us how much time the display has actually been on
From my experience, it is not necessarily the rom that effects the battery life as much as the kernel does. Every rom I have installed I end up changing the kernel to synergy 10 and see a big increase in battery life.

Display time on and brightness? From the graph it doesn't seem like you used the phone for too much and we don't know how bright your screen was, time on voice calls and any other applications. Why is it that people don't know how to post battery life correctly? Your wifi was on most of the time and wifi uses less battery than data connectivity plus we don't know the type of reception you were receiving. Edge consumes less battery than 3G. These are all factors that need to be taken into consideration to draw a clear conclusion on your battery life.

Why don't you make a list of each rom you want to try, then take the time to flash each one and run each for about a week. Since battery life and performance is directly related to each users set up and personal style of use. This way in about 4 or 5 weeks you can actually make a determination on your own as to what is best for you.

In the middle of the graph, it goes from red all the way up to ~85%. The green bar below the graph also shows how long it's been charging which is DEFINITELY not 30 seconds.
best battery life is very subjective to the user. and remember that the display on this phone is power hungry to say the least. i hope that very soon all phones will come out with non removable batteries. people that need extra power can carry a portable power pack instead of an extra battery. and for those who complain about the longevity of the battery have obviously never used a phone with built in battery or done their research and are simply relying on that crutch of being able to swap the battery just because they can.
WOW...anyway....my point when i started this was that no one can tell you what works best for you...you have to figure that out on your own.

You can clearly see the green charging bar in the middle, not to mention the fact that battery graphs don't go up by themselves.
I was using BlackICE 37 w/ the newest Air Kernel for a while and was experiencing some really good battery life!
I then tried Slim ROM with the same kernel and the battery life was ok...I'm now using the Samurai Kernel and I'm liking it!

is in fact what I would do with this thread is to gather a bit 'of screen and then publish them on the start page so as to assist new users in selecting the ROM according to their needs, then of course every result will be based on usage of 'but if you can get many statistics can make an average of everyone!
Anyone out there found the best ROM to have the best battery life?
I'm running AOKP toro JB build3 with Franco's kernal and I have the Verizon extended battery but the battery life still isn't all that great.
I use the phone quite a bit so the screen does kill it.
I've tried having the screen dimmed and clearing battery stats and all that stuff.
Is JB just a heavy user of battery? Is it better to go back to ICS?
Coming from a thunderbolt with an extended battery I had great battery life granted the battery was like a jet pack.
I'm sure I'm not the only out there as I've search other threads like this that brought me to AOKP JB and Franco's kernal.

The battery life is enough to get me through the day with moderate usage.
I've I'm using it heavily I usually have to charge it before the day is done.
I'd try CM9 or Bugless Beast with Lean kernel if you're trying to squeeze out every drop of battery life.
There are so many other ROMs for TORO that you just need to try them all and find out which ROM / kernel combo works best for you.

One does not. However,it is a question that no one can answer for you since there are far too many variables that are unique to each individual. There is a reason mods lock thee threads as soon as they see them, and that is because they are totally useless given the extreme variation from localities, different basebands, hardware variances even within the same production run, etc. Like the others have said, think of the pandas and don't be surprised if you see this thread locked in the very near future.

Hey buddy,
I used to own a Motorola Atrix 4G and flashed a JB ROM that was Frankenstein up with Gingerbread drivers. The battery size on that phone is virtually the same capacity as the one on the GNEX, but for some reason I was able to get 8 hrs screen on while connected to WIFI. Atrix is a dual core phone at 1Ghz processor and 1 GB RAM.
I would love to get at least half the screen on time I used to get on my old phone.

This.
It's somewhat irksome to see that some people still hold onto the misinformed notion that clearing battery stats is in any way shape or form going to have any impact on battery life or reported charge. It has about as much to do with either as what color table you rest your tablet on when not in use.

I run data off with screen off and a few other things... (auto sync to a minimum) things like that.. haven't tested PA lately to see what i can pull on it.. I may this evening. Stock battery Aosp ICS rom. No scripts but undervolted. Normal brightness. This after a regular day with lots of screen time so probably 15 hours phone on total with minimal calls
Recalk is good, as areboth of calkulins roms. Same with phantomhackers blazer roms. The gb builds are better if you are having ics battery issues, but there are a few fixes for that as well. No known "cure all" though if I am not mistaken.
Tersus Satus FI27 I don't have pics of my phone but it didn't need a charge for two days, I am on my second charge now. My battery needed to be charged within 6-10 hours even if it wasn't used except for a few short phone calls. the two day charge was used for texting, emails, calls and browsing moderately over 3g. The main benefit is the battery is not losing much life when it sits unplugged and not being used if you forget to plug it in when sleeping like I did. I woke up and seen it thinking I was going SOL later but the battery had only gone down 1%.
Hi everyone, for a long time i see ppl claiming their phone last longer due to a custom kernel.
Normally i read they saying "i could never make my phone lasting with 2hs screen on or lasting for 2 days".
Anyway, its obviously that this will depend 100% what ppl do with their phone accordingly to apps, widgets, syncing, etc.
For me, normally i have around 3 and a half hour screen on and around 1 day and a half to 2 days.
I do use WiFi and 3G alot... browsing, gaming, texting, etc.
My point is that i belive ppl have a placebo effect. Custom kernel will give you faster response, OC ability and other advantages.
What do you guys say?
Attached are some screenshot from my 100% stock phone.

I just believe some of the little tweaks devs do to a custom kernel do make a difference.
I bag 4h30m on my gnex regularly.
Yea I totally agree that stock performs just as well in the battery life department. All I care about is having root.

Your battery life won't really get better than that. I really agree that there's often a placebo effect in switching roms/kernels, i only use a different kernel for color settings volume boost via Francos app. Stick with stock though I'd say, but of course it's always nice to try out kernels, despite the placebo effect.
Speaking of which though, I'm performing a real life test seeing which governors on my kernel work best for battery life. I simply switch then lol at my screen on time and see if it's improved, I'm assuming hotplugx will win, so we'll see. Interactive is still a great balanced on though.

It made a difference for me personally, because I wasn't getting very good battery life at all with the stock kernel. The other tweaks were also a pretty good bonus.
You're getting pretty great battery life as is though, I wouldn't worry too much about changing to a custom kernel if you're consistently getting numbers like those.
Thanks everybody for the feedback. I guess we are all at the same page.
Cheers

Battery life or not but performance of the phone definitely improves with custom kernels... Asphalt 7 use to lag a bit on stock JRO03C but after trying Franco kernel Milestone 6 no lag or reboots whatsoever..
In fact I have a placebo that custom kernels reduce battery life
Worth it for the small performance improvements alone but I do get a little better battery life.
Even a few percent better is better than nothing when you sit in a building with poor reception and your battery takes a hit from your phone having a low signal

Somehow i think the same! All my attemps with custom kernels drove me to less juice... but a hell of fastness..

Personally, I run trinity...
Mostly for it's colors but I did seem to go from 1 day to 2 days without charging after the switch (placebo...?)
My battery suddenly dropped from 15% to 0% on Milestone 6... Now I'm back on stock custom kernels are like 3rd party engine mods on a car..
I say Franco...

What mods have you done to your phone? I am running aokp build 4 with Franco kernel milestone 6 and I'm starting to see some good numbers too.

3+ hours screen on time, 12+ hours standby. I didn't think it was possible, my battery bad been draining pretty quickly. I think the key this time was that I was on WiFi all day.

no sync because i don't have the data to go syncing the whole day, auto brightness, 3g outside, wifi at home. Web browsing only, i don't play games on my phone, it's reserved for my computer.
Stock kernel, stock ROM. Turn off auto sync unless you are connected to a wifi hotspot. This will give you 3 hours screen on time and 12+ hours uptime. I have 3 email accounts set up, but they do not sync automatically. I manually check my email in the am, at lunch, and evening.
Stock kernel, unless you can't help but obsess about making your phone "fast". If you want fast, go into Development Options within Settings and turn off all animations, then install a launcher like Nova and turn animations to "faster than light".
I used to flash all kinds of mods on my phone and I realized that was ALL I did with my phone, tinker and troubleshoot it. I will only unlock and root my phone if we stop getting the latest OS updates. In the meantime, nothing is so wrong with the stock kernel and rom that should make you install Bob's OS. But you know, that's the beauty of Android. You can decide what you do with your phone. Hope my point of view makes you reconsider flashing any custom software.
