I'm sure everyone's went through switching ROMs before. I want to know the most efficient way of restoring everything on switching, whilst still keeping data and small info like data usage. Titanium Backup is annoying without the pro version. Any alternative methods. I'm all ears .
Thanks

Just buy the pro version. It pays for itself.

Okay, but is it easy switching between AOSP and Sense for example. I've always had problems with that.
Secondly I hate when I restore backup that I have to press 'okay' to install every app. Is that problem sorted?

Just buy titanium backup pro, it allows batch jobs

Buy pro you don't need to hit ok or install for every app. Just once and done. Takes about 10-20 minutes to go from one ROM to another with my apps. Maybe little longer with tweaking the ROM to my needs.
Nice I'll be getting it

AndSync
There was a nice article called Synchronize Backup and Restore Android Devices with AndSync on XDA portal few days ago. Maybe you can try it.
Or you can try Rom toolbox pro it does even more...PM.me for an offer:thumbup:

How do i get titanim backup to work?
I already have perm root and granted it permissions, but it doesn't load any of the apps on the phone. I was gonna use it toget rid of the bloadtware on my bell desire z.
I just switched from a galaxy s so i'm still learning the ropes of htc's implementation.

Ok, nevermind. Such a noob. I just updated busybox and it's working now.

U remove the apps? Did it stay after reboot?
Sent from HTC Desire Z using XDA App
nope, they are long gone. i used titanium to remove bloatware from my sgs before i switched to the desire. it's also really useful when flashing a full firmware coz you can back up and restore apps + app data in batches.

YOu just backed up the apps you wanted right? And cliicked the app u dont want and removed?

Titanium was fixed the other week to allow removal of system apps on the Desire Z and HD (before we had S-Off).
@jark99: yup. Just be sure to know exactly what you want to remove, and be careful not to remove important sys apps. One rule: if you're not sure the app should be removed or not, don't remove it.

thanks going to try that now.
I'm having this problem now, how do I work around this?
if you already have root, download the latest busybox from the market. that's what fixed it for me.

Does it work on any of your phones? It's kinda slow and then later on the loading screen, it starts blinking :|
Anyone has had problems with it?
Same problem on my device.
i wrote to them and they said that they are going to try fix it in update compatibility issues
I hope they update soon!

Uninstall it then reinstall it and if that doesn't work reinstall it again and restore data through titanium backup. Had that problem on my g2x. Works great now

I don't have S-OFF
Ouch sorry. Didn't know you didn't have s off. There is another backup u don't need root. Its called my backup. There is 2 different versions of the app. One for root and one for non root. Works fine.

Install the new update and it works but its slow but gettin quicker
With HTC sense roms, when u sign into Google, it automatically downloads all ur apps from last time my device synced.
When I log into cm7 or miui, it doesn't automatically download any apps.
Is there something that HTC sense rom have that makes the apps download automatically?? If so, is it possible to have that implentes into cm7 or miui?, possibly on ICS as well?

I'm not 100 on this but I do believe the reason for this awesome feature is 'HTC setup wizard'.
And if it is, I'm guessing just like everything else Sense, it wont be able to be ported/used since the framework is different.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
I've flashed 4 different ice roms and only one of them has restored my apparently and also pretty sure its due to that one being the only one with a setup wizard. Wasn't a HTC one though so it is possible if incorporated in the rom

i wish this feature can be implemented into other roms. that is one part about why I dislike AOSP roms. I hate freshly reinstalling all my 50+ apps.

Well Titatium backup has the feature where you can really install all your apps with no prompts.
Its what I always use anyways. I feel the market way is too slow.

i was just wondering if anyone knows why google play store doesnt restore any of my apps after i do a clean wipe and and flash a new rom. it used to start re-downloading them immediately on the first boot up after i signed in on my G2X when using a CM based ROM. and does any know of a free and reliable way to batch restore apps???
I wonder this my self... But I use titanium backup it has its bugs sometimes but it works fine for me

Well I was hoping there was a free legal way to get it.... like taking a offer or a survey. Kinda like how akinator lite offer akinator pro to people who like their Facebook page or tell a certain amount of people about the app.... free doesn't always mean steal. Remember that

Did you leave the box checked that said sync with Google (OE something like that on the first boot)
And as far as tb goes give app to zip a try. Its a great app, and there is a free version that will do all you need. And the pro version is less than three dollars

I guess that it only working when an official ROM is installed. I tried more than 4 custom ROMs and all cannot get my apps back

Saving my apps to an sd card works for me. I also tend to modify roms via the android kitchen and while at it, place a few apps I need accessible prior to flashing (root explorer, etc).
Well, I've noticed that they don't restore all the time unless you use the same ROM. But even a stock rim misses the occasional app. Titanium Backup works great for me.

Remove your Google account, and just add it back for auto restore to work again.

Just a kick because if your apps don't start to auto restore and you want them to, simply go to Settings, Remove your Google account, and just add it back. Worked for me.
Hello everyone,
I would like to know of a app, free or paid, that can backup all my items for me. I am currently using 2 apps, SMS backup and app backup and restore, and it works well but is there a way to backup game data? Like I play games a lot and gotten far in some and don't want to lose it you know? Anyone got any ideas? This is the only thing keeping me from flashing new roms. Thank you!

Yup won't loose any data -simply use titanium backup to backup all your apps + data and restore them after you flash !
also I would recommend using titanium backup pro the paid version
I agree, I've been using the paid version for almost 3 years. Makes everything so much easier.

So the paid version is worth the 6$? I have heard people having problems with it. Is that true?

I bought titanium pro long ago for the freeze function and to support the dev. I think it was worth it. The app gets updates often. Usually if people have issues they are just confused or it will be fixed quickly. Titanium can be confusing at first, but the amount of options are sweet once you realize everything you can do with it. My backup root is a bit easier to use, but I prefer titanium pro because of the extensive options and just because I'm used to it.

I agree. It has so many options for backups and freezing. And then theres the scheduling, its just an all around great app, definitely worth the $6, plus the dev updates it very often to make it better
