The wii is unsupported in the galaxy s 2 international. But people use the ps3 with a different rom that has a changed Bluetooth stack
There is however Phonejoy. A bit expensive but it works stock with our phones.

yeah, i know if we were to get cyanogen running on our phones it will work. but it seems that it doesnt work stock.
what is phonejoy?
i searched it on our market but nothing poped cept this bluez ime.
Look up phonejoy on Google.
Its a ps2 like control that some man has been Modding to support any phone capable of Bluetooth HID which is also what our phones have.
Most of the reason why its so expensive is its from China. However it does work.

The xplay has both a fm receiver and transmitter. But it has been disabled somewhere in the software. FXP is working on a fix.

If you have unlimited data, the fm radio apps on the market are way better i find since you can get stations from around the world
The one I use though wifi is called tune in radio.
Sent from Silent Earth 3
Would definitely recommend tune in radio... even with a poor data signal it can keep your stream going... only downside is that since it buffers there is generally a bit of a delay...

Is there way to check the progress?
Thanks for the explanation, looking forward to had the same feature like this fm station on my play.
Internet radio was a bit annoying when it comes with buffering. xp

Hi guys,
Quick question can anyone recommend a decent car stereo that I can control my S3 with. I.e. select music to play from the stereo. My current stereo only plays once I've selected it on the phone. Bit annoying really.
Cheers in advance

Using the Sony BT3900U, working brilliantly with my S3. Sound quality is awesome and connects way faster then my HTC Desire.

Nuts. I need a double-DIN for my car. Was worth a shot!

I've been in car audio for 20 years.sure your car may have a doubledin unit, but you should be able to use a single din unit with an install kit.

This guy is right. I could recommend a kit with a cubby. I always have liked those more... I hate space without use.

+1 for the sony bt3900u. I even owned the previous model (stolen when car was broken into). I love this unit because the bluetooth is built in, connects instantly when i get into my car, and sound quality is excellent
Cheers guys I'll check this out
Thanks

Does this allow you to browse the files on the phone with a file explorer?

Play Music -> A2DP support = Problem solved.
Browsing the files on the phone from the headunit would require you to mount the device as a USB drive. This is not actually possible over bluetooth (or has never properly been implemented?) and if you would like a function like that you can get a headunit with a usb port and plug your phone directly in via that port.

Hi Ricey
It maybe worth checking out the SONY XAV 601BT Its a double din touch screen stereo that utilises Mirrorlink technology built into the Galaxy S3 so you control your phone from the touchscreen on the stereo.
A few forum members including myself have this and we have a big discussion about it (with photos) here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837847
hope this helps
Dan
Now that someone cracked the appradio2 to mirror android phones it seems by far the best unit out there IMO. Big thread on xda about it just search

Not entirely true.. some have it all integrated. I know its stock, but in my gf's POS 2012 Fusion, has sync and it sees the phone and can control the tracks, playlist and such all from the vehicle's controls. And no, it does not have nav.
I am sure there are some aftermarket that have similar capability.

I have been wanting to try this Parrot head unit, but I haven't seen one in use yet. I gotta say, it has a ton of neat features...
http://www.parrot.com/usa/products/bluetooth-hands-free-car-kits/parrot-asteroid
I am converting over to a double din system, for a big ol screen, but if I wasn't, I would probably go this route.
It really depends on how much you're willing to spend... I recently had my car broken in to - headunit and sunglasses stolen bastards... wasn't anything flash, an Alpine cde-133bt (paid about $300 for it at the time, 8months ago) - did the job, through bluetooth was great, could control either via phone or the headunit (only next or previous song on the headunit if using bluetooth), and has the aux and usb ports.
Also depends on what set-up of speakers you have in your car if you need something of higher quality as well...

Anyone look into this? Thinking about pulling the trigger on this for my 06 GLI.. They claim it supports text on the head unit, and full control from the head unit and steering wheel controls..

The more I think about it, the more I think my next car stereo will be something like the Nexus 7 tablet.

It's really only a viable option for higher end car stereos though, that have amplifiers.
Anybody know if it's possible to hook up a stock unrooted KF HDX 8.9 to a bluetooth GPS receiver?
I found an app that offers the software portion of a connection... But I am not sure if the BT supports such a connection?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I know this is a old post but I thought I would post my findings. I don't think it will work without root. I had trouble at first using it on my HDX until I flashed Nexus HDX rom. Then I was able to use Bluetooth GPS app to connect to my garmin bluetooth receiver and everything seemed to work. This is after I enabled mock location in development option. In the stock HDX rom I was able to get it working with a sql editor, changing a value but google maps wouldn't recognize my receiver until I changed to Nexus Rom. However I tried mapquest and other 3rd party apps and they seemed to work on the stock rom.

Thanks for the information, very interesting... currently playing with the Sangria update so may have to wait a while until Root is available again!

No. There are USB bluetooth adapters you can buy that will work. Search for Joystick Center Gold or something like that...
Sorry to open an old post, but has this been figured out at all yet? I sunk most of my spending into buying a ps4 and need a free way to do this.

I paired my ds4 by holding home and share until the light bar starts blinking, putting into pair mode. Then I just went into bluetooth settings and paired it. I never tested a game but all the controller button and sticks worked navigating android
