It seems like I've been downloading this phone for more than 3 hours, does it take that long? I put the phone on the charger and it had 10% left and its still charging,Is that normal?

takes me about 1.5-2 hrs
When I use the Samsung charger, it will charge from 20% to 90% in less than an hour

I took a nap for 3 hours. My phone was nearly dead and when I woke up it was fully charged.
Just as fast as my previous level iPhone 4.
Well I need to know from you guys, it's not that I don't know, but need to reconfirm. I think mine is taking much lower now than it was. A full charge, say from 5% to 100%, with Stock charger?
Thanks in adv.

Charging from 0 to 90% happens in no more that 2 hours I would say. from 90% to 100% the charging rate gets slowed a lot. So basically shouldn't take more than 2:30 hours from 0 to 100%.
Thanks guys. Now I remember it was 2 hours 45 mins for me too at first.
Today it took 4 hrs 30 mins. Reason? I'll say tomorrow, after confirming.
Jeez PowerAMP!

I rarely charge it to 100%, usually to 70 or 80%. much better for the battery in the long term
Any research or refrence for this longevity ? I heard its always better to charge 100% ?

you are welcome. the general rule is to try to 1) avoid charging to 100%, really diminishing return the higher it goes; and 2) avoid deep discharge cycle. I usually use 40% of the capacity at work everyday, so charge to ~70% in the morning, use down to ~30% and then charge again. charging time in this range is rather linear, about 1 percent a minute

Yeah, it happened to mine too few days back. My Note2 went crazy, taking around 7-8 hrs to fully charge from 15%. So, i tried searching about the problem on google but to no avail. Did a factory reset with cache wipe and problem solved :good:. Now it takes about 2.5 hrs to fully charge from say 10% (using the samsung wall charger with phone switched on). I can only say that the slow charging was caused due to some software but don't know exactly which one? You may as well try the hard reset if anything else doesn't work out .
P.S : Btw i'm on stock fw with no root or mod! Only did some OTA updates couple of weeks ago.
Guys, we have a changeable battery and is already writed Inside to android that it won't charge to 100%, it just shows at 100% but really it is at 95%-98% that feature came with 2.2.1 update 2yrs ago.
And we can change the battery after 2yrs for 20-30$, unlike Nokia lumia users or HTC one x or iPhone users.

Yeah, thanks. But if you've Watchdog installed then you can see which app is going over threshold and keep running on background. And yes, this time, again, the culprit was PowerAMP! Uninstalled it and voila. The same app created problem for me when I had my S2, charging was pathetically slow, even I had to go to SC and they said battery is gone. But I didn't believe and asked a techy friend and he said it might be some app, and damn right he was.
Anyway, if anyone having the same issue like mine, that is, charging duration has increased with Stock charger, then install Watchdog (the lite version will do) and see who is the culprit.
I have no idea how a top app like PowerAMP could cause this! Jeez!

The same problem happen to me few days ago..during that that i was charging using extension cable where 3 pin plug is sharing with my note 2, laptop n tablet charging @ the same time..its take nearly 4 hour for fully charge the note 2 while im using n charging my laptop n tablet..but, from that i understand that when the connection all charging at the same time on the same 3 pin plug, the load are higher which decrease the current value (current drop)..that the reason why my note 2 charging slow..check if OP case is same like me??

Hmm! Thanks.
Well I wasn't using the same plug point but the charger was connected to my Belkin Gold surge protector, where my whole PC and monitor is connected. Could that be a problem?

Orly? Oo I use PowerAmp and have no such problems. Use betterbatterystats to find out what's going on... It's not PA.

So my Verizon gnex won't charge past 59%, is that leading to the charging port going out or the battery going whack. Thanks in advance for any input.

If battery is over a year old, could be, especially if doing full charges more than once a day. There is a limit to how many full charging cycles the battery can take.
That was my first thought, but its the stock battery that was replaced by an extended battery within weeks after purchasing the phone around launch time

So does this happen with both batteries?
Got my new N7 today. After I charged the battery to 100%, it remains at 100%. I have it on for 3 hours now and it still says 100%. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks.
So they weren't kidding about good battery life
Try restarting?
Deep sleep is beautiful on the Nexus 7.

So why complaining...? Don't we all wish the battery to remain 100%......?

I'm wondering if they're thinking that it's not accurately reflecting what the battery level actually is.

thanks for pointing that out. I really didn't know it.
the thing is, prolly the device is doing some good deep sleep, with no radio to disturb the battery.
cell radio often takes about 25-30 % of battery. with no radio, no battety drain.
My tablet has been at 25-30 for about 8 hours now with light use. Network activity is minimal during this time.

No worries ...the battery life is jus amazing on this device is all....I was shocked after first cycle...compared to my other nexus devices and even my 10' this is great...

I upgraded my Verizon Galaxy Nexus to 4.3 a few days ago, and just checked "adb logcat -d" and searched for signs of fstrim running to see how much space had been cleared via the new TRIM support only to find that it hasn't yet run. Any ideas why it hasn't run yet? I've had it charged to full a few times since the install, and haven't used it for several hours at a time.
Is there a way to force it to run? (or any thoughts why it hasn't run yet?) I'm looking forward to a snappier device (hopefully)!
Thanks!
It only runs when charging and its above 70% and is idle for at least 1 hour.

That's just it.. I've charged it overnight since I installed it a few days ago and it hasn't run, despite being above 70%, idle for several hours, and charging.

Try fancy kernel. It has it built into the kernel itself. So it should run when you charge it again.
