Best low audio fix for stock rooted gsm - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I finally was able to root my nexus and did some research in the forums to find out how to increase the low volume specially during calls and media. I saw a script I. The themes section but it talked about pbx and I won't be using my phone for that. There was another that seemed to be what I wanted but it required non stock kernel. I'd like to stay with a stable kernel and use a mod that will help me out. Is there an insecure kernel that I can use or another audio fix you guys can thing of to help me? Thanks.

Franco kernel on Axi0m Crossbreed question

I have a semi noob question. Axi0m Crossbreed (and other Kang ROMs) has an over clock and under clock setting.
But so does the franco kernel updater.
My question is, which takes precedence? Or will they auto switch to match? I don't want to over clock using the Franco updater if the ROM will take precedence.
Also, similar question about Franco updater and volume plus. Will one take precedence or will they both increase volume?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
I would think that both are making the same modification to your phone. Therefore changing one would affect the other. If in doubt, set both the same or only use one.
This question doesn't belong in the development section. It will probably get moved.

I figured it would go here since it's in reference to a ROM and kernel updater.

Where would it go then? General?
As I said, it pertains to a ROM and kernel. Sounds like a developmental question to me.
But whatever.

Why don't you try using a better rom while you're at it. Droid theory is just a kanger. There are plenty of roms by authors who create original work.

Better rom?? His ROM is sick. AOKP on top of 4.0.4... can't get much better than that. Battery life is the best!
Awesome way for everyone to avoid his question!
To the OP, it depends on which one is set at boot. Whatever one is set at boot will take precedence. However, if you have them both set on boot (this would be bad) you could have tremendous issues.
If you want to run the kernel stock (like Franco intended) then don't do anything and if you want to flash Milestone 2, do it through the app or manually and don't set anything and it will run stock OC'd speeds with the stock governor.

Generally we try to limit threads in the development area to posts sharing something that's been developed or for R&D and other WIP projects. This site was created for developers so it's actually just one big development forum.

is the call echo issue present in this rom just like the other ICS ones?
Just noticed it. Heavily think its a RIL or qualcomm audio config issue. Will look into before all other issues.
Will you be using the telus modem for this Rom?

It is not my place to decide which radios a user can use. My rom will never include a radio (I will include flash able RILs as possible) Radios can differ because of location. But I'm looking into making the best experience possible. In fact, the echo issue is my primary issue for tomorrow. And I personally recommend the Telus radio. But it differs..

has anyone used cpu spy to check their cpu during screen off? i have flashed several ics ports including this one and my cpu sticks at 1188MHZ without ever going into deep sleep...can i attribute this to skyrocket kernel? would anyone mind seeing if this is in fact just a user error by me or something else?
the echo of calls has been resolved for next released?
I don't know a whole lot about development (just a very talented flasher ) , so I was wondering, since they're both made from the same base rom, wouldn't Phoenix's ics theme made for racings rom work with this?

Low volume

Hello everybody
Some of you might noticed that the volume in some apps (youtube, navigon...) or even media (mp3) is quite low.
This issue is fixed in many roms like cm, xylon and so on.
I want to know if there is any possibility to increase the volume output on 4.2.1 stock, without having root.
thx
Yeah I would like to know too. My iPod touch is a whole lot louder! What gives Google?
Would love to know this too. In fact, the low volume makes me miss quite a few calls and messages during the day when I'm not in the same room as my phone. Also when I show someone a YouTube video the audio is sometimes near impossible to hear on the speaker. Would love to stick with the stock ROM so I hope there is an easy fix.

use this mod this guy posted. it makes the volume so much louder. ive used it since day one when i got my nexus because i could never hear my damn ringtones or notification tones. but u need to be rooted. i run the stock 4.2.1 rom that is rooted. just so i can run some apps that need root access. its worth it.
Volume+ stopped working with jb. Still no fix. Unless rooted I presume.

Make sure you installed the V6beta2 if you are on 4.2 or 4.2.1. There are two different ones. One is for 4.1.2 which I think the latest build is called "V5Omega" it's in the 1st post and the other is for 4.2 and 4.2.1 which the latest build is called "V6beta2" and that's his 3rd post. You might have flashed the wrong one.

Kernels

So I've been searching everywhere but I can't seem to find anything about it for LGOG, how do you flash a custom kernel? I found some methods for other phones but I'm afraid to try them because I don't know of its the same method required for the LGOG. I'm an android newbie so I apologize if this is something that's easy to do
I'm running JellyBeer and my current kernel says 3.4 HP Pavilion Notebook

Now how would I go about doing that? I'm pretty sure I found that thread earlier but it didn't have instructions. Would I just put it into the root storage and flash it like I would for a ROM or gapps package?

Thank you, now its time to flash this *****! Hopefully it'll give me a bit of a performance/battery life increase. I also read something in another thread mentioning the connections optimizer I believe? I couldn't find it again, but it said deleting/uninstalling/freezing that and another similar app would improve download speed and battery life but it wasn't very detailed nor could I find them when I searched through everything in my file explorer. I also didn't want to delete anything that sounded that important without knowing for sure because I surely can't afford to brick my phone

It's not going to be on jelly beer or any aosp ROM.. it is a built in the settings stock app and If your inclined to freeze it (which im not saying do, never did it myself or read anyone doing it but could use titanium as long as your rooted) but if your on any of our custom ROMs the Dev of it will help you it with most issues, our devs here are in a class of their own..... simply superb

[Q] SGH T889 PA ROM issues

Hello, I have the T-Mobile (SGH-T889) Note 2, and I flashed version 3.99 of ParanoidAndroid ROM from Galaxy Note 2 root.com, a few weeks back. While I love the features, I am having a few issues with it.
1. It’ll randomly reboot the phone.
2. A lot of times, the System UI will force close, along with a few other apps.
3. Someone else mentioned the slow typing, I am also experiencing this problem. It just cannot simply keep up.
4. The sound is VERY LOW. On any and everything, and at the maximum volume setting despite it being low, there is a lot of distortion in the speaker.
5. It’ll tell me that y SD card is damaged one day, but then it’s not the next and I still have all my files.
Other than these 5 issues, I love this ROM. I don’t know if I flashed it the wrong way but, it’s getting aggravating and making me wish that I never left the TouchWIZ ROM I previously had.
Also, I just noticed that in the section About Phone, it says GT-N7105. I don't know how that may have happened, or if that may be the issue.
Hopefully someone can assist me in getting this issue resolved. Thanks in advance.
Switch to neak kernel to fix the sound and see if the others go away at the same time. most those should be fixed with a different kernel
