Hi All,
I was in the T-mo store checking the note 2 last night. The lady told me that if I upgrade my 3 lines plan now, she can offer me $90.00 for all 3 lines (1000 min+unlimited text+ 2 data lines (5G and 2G). So I asked her if I want to buy the note 2 with the upgrade, how much that will be.
She told me $250 + tax. So I called the T-mo store asking the lady to upgrade it for me and I will pick up the phone later. But when I trying to pay, they told me $250 is down payment, I have to pay$20 for 20 months!!!!! the saleswoman never mentioned about $20 for 20months.
It equals I buy the phone directly from Amazon, and got stock with 2yr contact! The salesman told me that they can't cancel the order once it's been placed and I need to go back to the store tomorrow to talk to their manager. I don't know what should I do, please help~ Thanks!
It all depends on that type of plan you are on or they are going to change you to. I bought mine with no contract at full retail and the guy offered to change me to a class class plan and make payments you what she told you. I told him I didn't car about the cost of the phone and wanted to keep my plan.
Oh no! You just signed up for one of Tmobile's Value Plans. You get a big discount on the rate because you are paying full price for the phone. The Note II sells for $649 no plan. You paid $250 + ($20x20 months=$400) = $649. You get to pay for a full price with ZERO interest over the 20 month and after the 20 months you save that $20 per month ($20x4 months=$80 savings again)
The other rate plan is the Classic plan. You would have paid $419 (less $50 rebate) up front for the phone and paid more for your monthly rate plan. In fact you would end up paying more over the life of the contract with the classic plan.
You got a great phone for $250 down ( $169 less up front ) a lower rate plan, you pay the balance of the price of the phone over $20 months interest free.
Face it, you go the best rate plan at the least expensive up front cost for the Note II at Tmobile. Be happy
Thanks guys, I understand that the rate plan is good, but I am not happy because they didn't tell me the $20 for 20 months until they changed the plan for me.
The upgrades is not much different than my current one, and got me into 2yr contact again and I have to pay full price for it.
But thanks anyway, I'll go to talk to them tomorrow to see if there is anyway I can get off this trap. Thanks!

That is def the way to go. I was not done paying on my galaxy 2 and they let me upgrade to the note 2 anyway for 249.99 and I just sold the galaxy s2 on ebay for 285. So the note 2 was free for me. Love it!

I paid $250 up-front for the phone. I converted my Classic Plan to a Value Plan, which saved me exactly $20/month, and they actually went back so that this month's bill (October) is also the discounted Value Plan, so I save $20 on my Oct & Nov bill. Starting with my December bill, T-Mobile starts the $20/month payment for the phone, which is already paid-for by the $20/month I saved by switching plans.
So...
I pay $20/month for the phone, but saved $20/month by switching plans, so the extra $400 is taken care-of.
My first two months of the new contract does not include a $20/month payment for the phone, so that money I save each month by switching plans ($40) goes in my pocket.
I basically only paid $250 down-payment for the phone out of my pocket - Technically, I should subtract the $40 saved from the first 2 months on the Value Plan, so I really paid $210 for the phone (plus taxes) and kept all the features I loved from my previous T-Mobile plan. Then Gazelle is willing to take my current phone for $100 - I may try for more on eBay.
I'm assuming your set-up is similar.
Um, I think you won...
This is how I got my Note II. Pretty good deal if you ask me.
The "value plan" pricing is only attractive when you don't factor in the installment plan for your device

Individual Classic plan on 2 yr contract:
$419 + ($90/mo x 24 mos) = $2579 less $50 rebate= $2529
Individual Value plan on 2 yr. contract:
$250 + ($20/mo x 24 mos) + ($70/mo x 24 mos) = $2330
Full retail on $30 prepaid for 2 yrs. / $50 prepaid / $70 prepaid
$650 + ($30/mo x 24 mos) = $1370 $1850 $2030
Prepaid is the clear winner for individual service.

Actually it does have unlimited. But you get throttled down after 5GB. Don't we all? I'm on the $30/mo prepaid plan I got online. Only has 100 minutes talk, unlimited text and unlimited data. I still get hspa+ speeds. Which makes the data service the same as that of post-paid.

Not exactly, we don't get to roam for data. And T-Mobile has some great roaming agreements including AT&T. I still prefer the prepaid plan but it's worth noting.
^^ In that case, it's almost the same.
But the point of prepaid is you WON'T" need roaming. Just pop in a new sim.
I've pre-purchased sims for Asia and Europe from ebay, prior to my trips. Worked perfectly when I arrived at my destinations. Or you could just wait until you get there and purchase them from local stores.
Although for business folks, I understand the transitions has to be more smooth.

for your classic plan calc, why are you calculating it at $90/mo for the plan? unlimited 4g plan is 79.99 ($80)
the value plan is actually only $20/mo for 20[/b months, not 24, and plan per month is $50/mo for unlimited 4g (no hotspot)
the prepaid cards seem to have caps at 100mb/2gb/5gb respectively so it might not be the best solution for some people.
at least these are the rates where i am (SF bay area). i guess it may differ by location? i'm using the value plan which is pretty much $250 + $20/mo for 20months ($400) + $44.99/mo (if i remember correctly) with 2 year contract which adds up to $1970.

WARNING!
To the OP
WARNING!!
There's a $200 fee when switching from Classic to Value plan. Make sure they didn't just screw you by switching 3 lines from classic to value, $600.
1) New 24 month contract
2) $200 per line to switch to new contract
3) Paying full for the phone is not so bad with the installments, and if you have 3 lines, the plan pays for itself on savings to not worry about the extra $20 (unless there are 3 new phones and not just one...)
Regardless of what you may have done, you have 14 days to change your mind. That is, if you decide that you want to go back to classic, or that you don't want the phone, etc, just go back to T-Mo store to get it all sorted out. Not sure if you did it all over the phone if they'll tell you that you have to cancel over the phone and ship the phone back to them.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do, but I'd warn you to watch out for those $600 in fees. They'd screw your life, and T-Mo will not let you pay that in installments "Fees must be paid all at once and cannot be placed on recurring charges. This includes ETF and migration fees, as well as activation fees."

Those were unlimited talk/text/data plans chosen for comparative 2 yr costs. The $80 plan will be $240 less than the 2 yr. grand total but still a hefty difference from prepaid. And when the GN3 or some super phone comes out, I don't have to worry about any ETF before the 2 years is up.
You're right. $20x 24mos is just a typo. It was computed at 20 mos for the grand total.
The T-mobile site shows 2 kinds of $44.99/mo value plans. One plan has talk and text but limits you to just 200mb data. While the other has talk minutes, no text, and 2GB data. For your sake, I hope that is not what you have. As you said prices for services may vary depending on your location.
For prepaid, it's only the $50 and $60 plans that throttle down (not cap) at 100mb and 2gb respectively. Which makes the $30 plan the most appealing, if you can accept the 100 minutes talk time. Anyways, it's only 10cents/min if you ever go over.
To each his own.

For those who don't like prepaid:
If you buy full price with your credit card. Pay $250 to your cc on due date, then $20/mo for 20 months (probably more like $24/mo because of your APR, but that dwindles down as the balance is being paid off). You can still purchase a classic or value recurring service, but at least not be tied to a 2 yr. plan and no ETF.
You got a good deal. If you got the phone for a discount of $380. You would have to sign up for the $59 1000 minute plan only, not the $39 one.
I have the "value plan" and to include there is a "PHP" include that cover loss, damage, theft, etc. and setup Tmobile Mobile Security which is free for the monthly cost of PHP $7.
Tmobile SGH-T889 using xda premium.
I got my note 2 for $270 plus a $50 mail in rebate. They let me renew my old myfaves plan for 2 years. With the value plan you pay sales tax on the full price of the phone.
On Thursday I got an Email from Ebay that they are selling Smartphone for 25%Off w/2yrs contract... went to their website saw that it is actually BestBuy who is selling the phones. NOTE2 Costs $329.99 minus 25%. that comes to $247.49 + Tax... so i order a white one and they already shipped it out and i am gonna receive it on Monday....
This deal is good till November 8th 2012.. so any of you guys that are interested you can get it for almost $250+Tax either upgrade or new Activation.
Last week i bought a Titanium Gray Note (wanted white but didn't have it) from T-Mobile store $250 + full manufacturer price TAX that came up almost $300 with Value Plan that I am not happy.. i need to add two more line and if i do that i am gonna end up paying more that classic plans so that's why i was looking for a classic plan deal that i found from EBAY.

Looks like the classic plan is only good for talk though, no texting. Although, I'm sure it could be added on to the plan later

if you are new to tmobile on the classic plan, switch to the value plan, pay your 200 bucks and you just got a phone for 450.
EDIT: I was thinking of doing this deal but I was just at Costco and they said they will get the note soon so I will probably just go that route and hope they have a price that is comparable, plus no activation fee.
Those two plans offered looked like garbage. I think you will be paying for it in the end.
I have a grandfathered 200MB plan. The order went through, but I'm keeping my fingers that I don't get an email back about there being a problem with my order.

Yeah, I've been looking at the details trying to figure out if I can save money by returning my phone ($650) and buying this. I don't think I'm going to do it. The only fine print I can't find is the eBay ETF. Is there an extra one?

I wasn't able to find an eBay/BB ETF either so maybe there isn't one? I know with some companies like Amazon or Wirefly they have their own ETF. Since I still have 3 months left of credit on my prepaid plan I guess I'll be waiting til there's no rebate to try this..

you would just pay the 200 dollar migration fee from classic to value, as far as I can tell, costco nor bestbuy charge any etf other than the carriers etf. you still need to pay activation but you pay that pretty much everywhere except costco. as for the one month on the classic plan, thats a possibility, but still thats a 20 dollar difference for one month so still a decent deal.
Dang my main line with data isn't due for an upgrade until the 10th, two days after this promotion ends. I wonder if I could use one of my non-data lines to get this without adding Data to that line.

My order shipped today! The upgrade went through and I'm getting this phone for a measly $270 with tax, shipping, and upgrade fee included while only paying $10 a month for 200MB of data (and $10 for my voice line and $5 for 400 text messages) as far as I understand. Same exact experience for me. I returned my Note 2 on Sunday after seeing this offer. I just got the email telling me it shipped. This is MUCH better than going the Value Plan route. With the value Plan you pay the $200 down and you pay $20 for the next 2 years. You will never see the savings in the value Plan because you will be paying for the phone each month, which will bring the bill to the same (or more) as a classic. I went over this option with THREE T-Mobile reps (the knowledgeable ones, not the ones from the Philippines) and they ALL said the same thing tome: It doesn't pay to switch to a Value Plan when the costs of the phone payments will put me at or above my current Classic Plan amount. #WINNING

the reps are brain dead, you will pay less because 4 months of the contract you are not paying the extra amount, and with this price, you will pay much less by converting to value plan, taking the 200 dollar hit and being done with it.

I implore you to be patient. The phone is worth the wait. I'm loving it so far and I've barely tapped into it's potential!
I am on galaxy s 3 and want to get this phone but dont want to upgrade my any line ( one of my line is upgradeable) and they offer me $100 credit towards it but I dont want data on that line.
I am reading about 200 down payment and 20 dollar per month to some month. Do we need upgrade for that?
I also heard samsung phones are on sell from this black friday. So how much its going to cost?
Any idea will be appreciated.

The 200 and $20 per month is for the value plan, which is contract. Some sites have said the note 2 will be on sale for black Friday but the lowest I've seen so far is $50 off for renewing a contract or new line, so it's still not "cheap" anywhere, unless you get a good deal on Craigslist or ebay

Actually, the sale on the Samsung phones is now over, I don't know if another round will be coming soon (I would not be surprised)...but on Nov. 16-17th, I purchased several Samsung Note 2 devices for my multi-line account at a price of $199.99 after mail in rebate (almost all other Samsung devices were free though, after mail in rebate). That is very cheap for a Note 2. I'm sure if you wait till after the new year, they will be giving them away for free in one of their sales events. T-mobile has been doing this for a couple of years now, and the sales are great! If you want to wait.....and yeah I know how hard it is to wait......you should be able to get it for free in a few months.
good luck!
oh yeah the price I paid is for the classic plan not the value plan.....it's simple, if you are on the classic plan you pay about $20 more per month and the device is highly subsided by T-mobile. If you go with the value plan the rate plan is $20 cheap per month, but no discount on the phones...you pay full price....but T-mobile will finance the purchase for you for free over 20 months. In the end if you want a flagship device and have multiple lines, it is cheaper to go with the classic plan (especially if you can swing the 15% corporate discount...I end up paying appox. $56/month for each line with unlimited everything no slowing down of my internet either).
Gool Luck on getting a great price on your purchase!
Explain me please whats difference between classic and value plan .
I have 4 lines on family plan with 59.99 for 1000 mins and different adds on (data , text) on each line ( differ as per line) ).
Its not prepaid .

Okay, think of it this way.....Classic plan is where T-mobile will subsides the price of the phone for you. So, if you sign a two year contract, they will give you a certain amount of money off the price of the phone. You get the device for free or you pay a small amount for it at the time you purchase the device. But in return for that they charge you $20 more each month for the classic plan.
The same plan specs but in a value plan range, will be $20 less per month...but they will not subsides the device for you at all. You pay 100% of the cost of the device. Now they will help you afford the device by taking a down payment from you and then charging your $20/month for 20 months on the device with no interest.
So in the end they are very similar in cost. Unless you have multi-line account and purchase flagship devices (especially when they have their free phone sales)...you can really clean up with the saving at those times. I just did an early upgrade (I called in and asked nicely and they allowed me to upgrade all 5 lines after only 8 months on our contract). So I purchased 2 Galaxy S3 devices for free and 3 galaxy Note2 devices for 199.99 after mail in rebate.
Also, with the classic plans they offer upto 15% corporate discount....no discount is offered for value plans. On top of it, if you call in and again ask nicely, you can get them to reduce the cost of your plan. I pay approx $56/month for unlimited everything on each line. That includes getting reduced rates, 15% discount, and being on a classic plan with the devices being highly subsides. I sell my older devices (S2 and S3 devices) and I end up making money on the devices rather than costing me anything. And $56/month is very cheap for everything included (no throttled internet either!! that is a big deal!!).
but if you want a cheaper device and want to keep it for as long as possible then the value plan may be a better deal. I can see situations where that would make sense for someone...but for me, I like a new device about once a year and I always get the flagship devices...with so many devices on my account...this is the best value for me.
I hope that makes sense...good luck

Good explanation.
I see the plans being the same in the end, but for me the value plan is better.
Value plan you pay full price on the phone but plan is $20. Cheaper. Classic you get a discount on the phone but your plan is always $20 more than value. Im trying to save money ea mo so I paid off the phone to save the 20/mo.
Ill try your advice on getting a lower price on unlimited plan though. Thanks
This is the perfect use of the value plan...you pay off the price of the phone and then bank the $20 per month, each and every month you don't update your device. That makes perfect sense!
For me, since we always are updating our devices to the latest, greatest....it would not make any sense.
as of getting the lower price...call and ask to speak to account retention dept. They will put you on a $20 unlimited data plan (only retention dept has access to the account codes for this grandfathered plan) and they basically give you deeply discounted plan rates and still get discounts on the devices if you are willing to sign a two year contract. I believe I am paying very similar to a value plan pricing, but with a classic plan benefits with regards to the device discounts. I never accept the price quoted by sales rep. Always call account retention. I do that will all services I purchase from cell service to cable with TimeWarner Cable....you can save a ton of money by just asking nicely to have your rates reduced...it is amazing. Hell, I even get my credit card interest rates reduced that way also....just get the right person and ask nicely...if the rep doesn't want to do it for you...just hang up and call back...sometimes it is just that easy.
Good Luck with whatever plan you choose!

Just to clarify... if I am a longstanding customer on a classic family plan and I call account retention to ask about upgrading one line to a Note 2 at the new contract price ($199) without disrupting any other services or changes that would affect the other 3 lines, they would be apt to do so as long as I extend that line's contract (or the contract in general) another two years? I just added all kinds of services recently but each line pays their own way so to speak, so I wouldn't want to have to switch to a value plan that might make everyone have to potentially pay more overall per month. I hope this is clear.
Thanks!

yes that's exactly correct, you don't even need to contact account retention to upgrade your line. You can upgrade 1 line or you can upgrade all of them individually as you see fit. I will tell you, that I don't believe the 199 dollar sale is still going on. I believe right now the best price you can get it from T Mobile is 369 dollars, that might be where account retentions maybe able to help you out by reducing the cost of the phone for you. Also you want to see if they can reduce the cost of your data plan, put you like on an Android gandfathered plan that will cost you about 20 dollars, that's what I'm on.

Funny you said that because as recently as yesterday, I checked and the new customer sale price was $199. The price today is in fact the regular $369, although they advertised til 12/20 on their site! Sneaky, sneaky...

Yeah, that charge so much for this device as compared to the other carriers. I really don't understand it. I can only assume that their rate plans are so cheap, that they can not afford to subsides the device as much as the other carriers...but you know what, it doesn't bother me that much since I save so much overall being with T-Mobile.
I think they are a great company to be with, as long as they have coverage in your particular area....they can't be beat on price, and their customer service is exceptional (at least from my experiences with them - unlike AT&T, they SUCK!). Sprint always has billing errors, you have to call them each and every month to correct the charges, and Verizon...well they are just way to expensive to even bother with.
Stepping down from my soap box now.....
Value vs Classic will be different for everybody since there is many variables.
Value is best for me. When I was on classic on a family plan with 5 lines, 1 with 2gb data, one with 200mb data, and 3 without data, all with unlimited texting, 2 with unlimited minutes and 3 with 500 minutes I used to pay $225 per month including taxes. Now on value I pay $115 per month including taxes but I now have true unlimited data without throttling on the line I previously only had 2gb plus I added data to one of the lines that didn't have it previously. Everything else stayed the same. My end result is a savings of $110 a month.
I get new devices constantly but only on my line and not the others and I'm happy to pay full price since my savings clearly outweigh my new device addiction expenses.
Either way, you should go to your local store to find out what would be the best deal for you......just as long as you get a smart rep you should be ok.

Still, the total price for the device is $579. If they charge a bigger deposit then you either pay less than $20 per month or you pay $20 a month for fewer months. I'm not sure how they do it but either way you're only paying $579 plus applicable taxes in total.
There is always extra monthly fees when you buy phones from tmobile.

I know the total price ia 579 I know that I bought a s4 on post paid I make eip payments, I was just quoting. .. that if its the amount of money that is needed down thats the concern, be aware that at worst its 329 down as the highest amount possible but yea with the 12.50 extra on top of bill theres also a possibility of a down payment needed for the line itself also, so if u ad the line deposit and the phone deposit it easily adds up well past 99$
So I was trying to help the OP know that its very possible without grade a/b credit plan to pay 200-500 for both deposits combined. ... before u even walk away with the phone on a new postpaid line...thus making the whole experience of the advertising 99 down a a complete let down once u actually get there and deal with it

Yes, I think the best price is Costco, for $150, at least for the next couple of days.
However, they have the S3 for $0 (only pay taxes).
Is the S4 worth paying $150 more than the S3? Your opinion?

And the LTE. Better speeds for my tethering use.
and processor and screen and phones shape :good:
something else to consider:
Costco and a few other vendors are the last to support subsidized upgrades on t-mobile. Noone knows how long this will remain true. Which phone would you rather hold on to if you decide to stick with t-mobile, but never again have a low-cost upgrade available?
I've had a tmo family plan for over 10 years (started with omnipoint) and had spaced my upgrades out so every 6 months there was a new phone in the mix. With the rotation, I was comfortable getting last year's hot handset for free instead of plunking for the new models. This year I'm upgrading them all to the latest and greatest as soon as they're qualified.
And to the OP: Costco $150 plus some accessories is the best deal i've been able to fine since the S4 launch. There may be some better deals come Independence Day,

How is Costco a deal? They are charging $149.99 for the phone, but they then charge you $90.00 a month instead of T-Mobile charging you $70.00 a month for the 2 years of the Costco contract.
$20.00 X 24 = $480.00
$480 + $149.99 = $629.99
This is the SAME as buying it from T-Mobile, but you are stuck with a 2 year contract from Costco.
They also through in a cheap case that you can get on Amazon for $4 or $5.00
Am I missing something here? Costco does NOT look like a good deal at all!
If I wasn't clear above, T-Mobile charges $70.00 a month for unlimited everything. Costco charges you $90.00 for the same plan.

Costco also honors your legacy plans which are no longer offered, which T-mobile will let you keep but still not subsidize your phone. Here's my bill:
$80 - 2000 (we never go over, full unlimited available for $100) minutes and text, family plan, 2 lines
$10 - extra 2 lines @ $5
$80 - 4 unlimited data plans @ $20
$10 - family discounted international rates (not transferable to new plans, only available as a per line add-on)
---
$180 / month + taxes and international calls - corporate discounts
+$600 + taxes - 4 S4s @ $150
New Value Family Plan:
$80 - unlimited family plan, 2 lines
$20 - extra 2 lines @ $10
$80 - 4 unlimited data plans @ $20
$28 - 4 discounted international rates @ $7
---
$208 / month
+ $80 - 4 S4s @ $20
---
$288 / month + taxes and international calls - corporate discounts
+$400 + taxes - 4 S4s down payment @100
I save money because of my options, and break even just on the base.

I spoke with sprint yesterday. (had the same plan as you) they switched me to another plan with no contract renewal. Went from $82 to $64 a month. Unlimited talk text and 600 megs of data. I average 75 megs a Month outside my house so this is a good deal for me.
Hmmm.. the $64 number is def nicer, but my data really fluctuates, mostly depending on wifi availablity at work and on the road.. I guess i'm going to have to take a look at my data over time and see.

How is that at all a good deal. U r losing unlimited data. I talked to Sprint and they said I can keep the same 450 unlimited data plan at $69.99 when I upgrade at best buy. I enjoy being able to use 2 gb of data or 20 and not worry about it.
I had the same plan, $69.99 + $10 premium data and $11 TEP. Sprint put me on the my way with unlimited everything for 1 cent more. They remove the 10 dollar premium data and the cost is $80. With $11 TEP it comes to the same price plus a penny. Never have to worry about number of calls or data.

I also was able to keep my current plan at best buy. 1500 min for landlines calls all other calls unlimited work unlimited text and data $149.99 for 2 lines or $75 for one.. best buy has never even asked me if I wanted to changeplans. And I have always upgraded thru them
I didn't have an issue. I ordered online through Sprint.
Overall, it would have cost me the same either way. Data usage is a big deal for me since I use around 100 to 120gb per month on the phone.
I may have 450 anytime minutes, but in total, I use around 15 per month, LOL.
When I was on a family plan and bought my note 3 from amazon, they didn't change the plans, all they change is any possibility for a employee discount. I went to my own plan and had the unlimited my way. Was paying $87.00. I went to the easy pay with the preorder of the note 4, so I switched to the $60.00 unlimited plan. I'd you want to renew the discount, they just have you renew it, depending on the plan, it may just cover the data though.

You can carry-over your current plan. I just pre-ordered directly from Sprint (since BB didn't have any left in charcoal), and I carried over my old Everything 450 plan. The only thing that you need to do is renew for another 2 yrs.

After a lil math
Ok I have been trying to figure out the best deal/plan combo and here is what I found.....
If you can keep your old plan and like please do because the new ones with contract renewal aren't worth it. Here is what I found and by all means correct me if I'm wrong on anything.
Unlimited my way plan is $50 unlimited talk and text $30 unlimited data=$80/month but you have the ability to upgrade after 24 months( it's suppose to be new it's not 18 months anymore).
So you pay $300 for the Note 4(if you don't do the trade in thing) +80/month = $2220 (plus taxes and fees that vary) over 2 years
The plan buying the phone out right or with Easy Pay is $30 unlimited talk and text and $30 unlimited data=$60/month but YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO UPGRADE even after 24 months but by then your phone will be paid for so you can buy another on or do Easy Pay again.
So to buy the phone out right you pay $720 (again if you don't do the trade in thing) +$60/month =$2160 over 2 years
AND to buy the phone with Easy Pay is $0 + $90/month ($60+$30EP payment) for 42 months =$2160 over 2 years
As you can see you come out cheaper with the latter two options plus you aren't renewing your contract. I went with the Easy Pay option myself but you have to do what works for you. Again if you found different info please feel free to let everyone know.
I kept my 1500 min share plan of ole

The thought of paying FULL price for a phone makes me crazy..
I was under the impression that here is some sort of subsidy that is given to them by the manufacturers for using those phones..
Meanwhile, I am happy ENOUGH to keep my current 450min/unlimited text and data plan with Sprint. If I HAVE to change plans, a big FU to Sprint and their lousy service and sub par customer service (In my experience) and I will just go with some other rip off company..
If you were a single user, and wanted to sign up with a two year plan, BB pre-order was the way to go. Traded in old phone, and with the $50 pre-order card, plus $200 trade in credit, my part at pickup was $49. Using the plan at the bottom of the page here http://www.sprint.com/landings/datashare/index_c.html?view=unlimitedtalk&INTNAV=eSLlans$85Unlimited, I was able to lower my payments from $79 a month (450min talk, unlimited txt/data for $69 + $10 premium data) to $60 a month ($30 unlimited talk/txt, $30 unlimited data). Can't beat that anywhere. I know it sucks for anyone that didn't jump on the deal. Right now, the cheapest way is to pay up front the $299, and use the $60 unlimited talk/txt/data deal. Yeah, I can wait to get a new phone every 2 years, so this one is a smaller hit per month, which is important. Biting my nails for the Note 6...lol.
Edit: I think I need to eat some crow. I just noticed the $25/month fee they are charging until I'm upgrade eligible. Think I'll be calling customer retention later this morning, and switching back to my old plan.

Yes all correct. One thing you left out is optional $5 month upgrade fee. If you pay extra $5 month you can upgrade every 12 months. I chose this option so I can always have a new phone every yr. You just have to pay the taxes on the phone each yr. This yr for the Note 4 it was $52 in taxes and I gave the note 3 back.
