So.. you know ..I always wondered this myself as well...So i got my a galaxy nexus and put them side by side hehehe
This is not a video to show you specs..that you can find anywhere ..however its a video to show you the difference between them and for you to check them out side by side
Thanks for the vid. Very handy and unbiased
Nice review. I'm giving up my white sgs2 for the galaxy nexus. Just waiting for it to come in the mail. I don't think I'll look back again. I think my next device after that will be the Sgs3 if the nexus doesn't do something spectacular with the up and coming ota's.
They both are great phones. It's a win win for both.

charlie, great minds think alike!!! Im doing the very same thing as you..saving my money already for the S3 hahaha.
I got a little update on the nexus.. I rooted it, romd it and let me tell you..battery life (which was the down side of it) got way way better. On normal use with almost 3 hrs of screen on ive been averaging about 15 hrs WITH stock battery.
Rooting and roming seems to be doing the trick for the life. The camera shooting got a little better as well and gps locks quick

With all the new roms and kernels I know it's just a matter of a good combo to save life. I'm on my phone all day(poweruser). I just bought some cases no batteries, so I'm just reading through everything trying to find the best rom/kernel combo.

Guys. I could get a white tmobile gs2 for lets say 280 right now.
Its because contract upgrade that someone else would be doing and blah blah blah.
Point is... I could get it for 280 brand new. I just got a galaxy nexus and I love it. I really do.
However, is it worth keeping it if I could save 300 dollars?
I want to say Im trully happy with the galaxy nexus but then yesterady I play with a stock sght989 and I swear that phone is so fast. Idk why but it just was stock.
Im on franco kernel and M3 and it is also very fast, but I just dont know if it is worth it.
Plus with the gs2 I always get twice the downlaod speed and I watch alot of hd youtube and some tethering and Idk what to do.
I only have today to choose!!! lol
stay with what you have now and save for Galaxy S3
I think I will do just that.
But I need it to support tmobile so it has to be pentaband. I wonder if it will support tmobiles 42 speed as well.
Last I heard. Nexus goes up to 21mbps. Where do u get 42mbps on tmo? I have the gs2 also n it never goes near that. Would be nice tho. Then again the g nexus speed is on par with mY gs2. I don't see no difference in network speeds. But it could just be my location.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Well yes I never get above 21mbps with the gs2, so technically I feel like the gs2 and nexus should have same speeds.
However, when I get 3 with nexus I get 6 with gs2. If I have 8 with nexus Ill have around 15.
Idk why, maybe the dual radio has something to do with it, but Id prefer to be in your situation and get identical speeds.
Then I would feel like I wasn't missing out but its always like doubled.
And Ive tried every radio for the nexus possible...
Okay, I have been getting the sod on my gnex for a long time. Anytime I would launch an app after about 15 seconds into it my phone would freeze and go into sod. I flashed back to stock and sprint replaced my gnex so when I got it I kept it unrooted for a while to see if it was because I was rooted. Same thing happened while I was unrooted. I thought to myself let me use the stock battery to see if the problem might be the extended battery. Sure enough while on the stock battery the sod's stopped. Its been a day now. Has anyone else experienced this, heard of it or can it be possible? Thank you.

The one from sprint that they were giving away. That's the second one they sent me. The first one my phone wouldn't boot and as soon as I put the old one in it booted. Now the second one seems to causing sod's. Possible?

Sure. If the battery is unstable and cannot properly sustain its voltage. You say it's reproducible when opening apps. Generally this action will cause the kernel to temporarily increase the CPU frequency and voltage, if the battery cannot deliver, I imagine this can affect Android in multiple undesirable ways

Man that sounds logical. Kuz that's the way it happens. It seems like when CPU is increased, bam, sod. Wonder if adjusting voltage will help? Or have them send me another one ?

Good advice. Thanks. For the longest time it was driving me nuts. I thought it was kuz I was rooted and running beta Roms but my gut was pointing to the battery. Just didn't want to believe and think that it would caused the issue. As soon as I use the extended it happens every time.

Hey guys,
Just trying to figure out how to do this.
I have a TMobile Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and i recently purchased a new asus laptop/tablet and it comes with Asus Instant Connect which allows you to use your samsung phone to tether with the laptop, BUT the application is only for Nexus, S2, S3, and NOTE, but not NOTE 2, so how can I make the computer think that I have an S3 instead of the NOTE 2
by the way, this application requires to have kies installed.
Please advise
You could just edit your build.prop to change what your device is an as, but I'm betting in this case it would be a little more in depth then just telling it you're using an s3.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Yep, i already changed the build.prop from T889 to T999 and restarted the phone but the program still knows
thats why I am asking on here lol

Probably would have helped to let us know that. As I guessed though it's more in depth then that so I won't be much help. Maybe one of our genius devs will swing by

If the computer is scanning the literal hardware itself, you may be out of luck, but I could be wrong.
So as some of you may know, I have self repaired my S3 recently. My power button was faulty and kept turning off by it self. I went in and took the phone apart and fixed the power button issue, only problem the phone gets very hot around the charging port while charging. It didn't do this before I fixed it, so what can be the issue? Any insight could be helpful! Thank you for your time.

Are you sure it did not do it before? I have a sgs3 I bought not even a month ago and it gets very hot around the charging port. Infact my friends gs3 does too. I think its normal.

Ehh no. Sorry I didn't even notice in the op it gets hot not even in use. Does it get extremely hot or just warm to the touch? The sgs1 use to get so hot around the charging port and screen you couldn't touch it but that was normal for them phones after long periods of playing with it.

Sometimes it just gets warm, and that is my bad, I didn't put that in OP it was charging and not in use. Sometimes it is just warm or it can get pretty hot, even if the screen is on and doing nothing, it didn't do this before. I was hoping someone who has taken the S3 apart too might have some insight why, thank you for your help though. It does help. It doesn't seem bad right now.

That is not a result of a ROM flash.... Sprint and boost use the same hardware and it would not affect your phone.

Curious to who has the highest benchmark score on AnTuTu for the AT&T variant of the note 4. Please post your results. Here are mine

So for same hardware and software, what can affect these different results? In my case I just disabled all AT&T apps and a few others
with all the AT&T applications disabled
I rubbed mine in cheetah blood, but it started growling so I don't recommend it:

All I have disabled is the AT&T stuff and a few random apps. I think it has more to do with how hot the phone is. I also get either slightly higher or lower scores each time I run it.
If someone breaks 50000 with the snapdragon I want to know how
Bout as good as mine gets.
