[Q] Bootloader unlock 12w25 - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

has anybody an idea if a carrier locked arc s production date 12w25 can be bootloader unlocked.?
i already have an omnius licence but it doesnt work?
thx for reply

Have you tried *#*#7378423#*#* to check if your bootloader can be unlocked(it's in configuration) Evan if it's a no search YouTube for a video 'by bluechipj' and he explains exactly how it can be done, although if it's a no you will have to use the 'paid for' unlocking service.

dial from your phone to check status :
*#*#7378423#*#*
service info --> configuration
for me, the best way is via fastboot..

dear gogo,
I've tried that, the service info will tell you "bootloader unlock allowed = yes"
it will not tell you whether your phone is locked or unlocked state!
It will tell you.
Mine is unlocked and says " Bootloader unlocked: Yes "

that means your bootloader is still locked, and you were allowed to unlock it.

Regret for the seeking the clarification again as I don't want to endup in trouble later.

Yes, you can unlock again.
Request the code again and you'll see if they provide it again.

it's ok.
I've tried it.
the unlock code is still the same code you had received before.
the remaining question is whether you sure to unlock it again or not, as standard user doesn't need to do such thing.
bravery comes from experience.
that's it bro.
I think your problem has solved.

For the info...
Bootloader unlocked: Yes
Means fastboot is enabled and the bootloader can be unlocked the official way
Bootloader unlocked: No
Means fastboot is disabled and therefore the bootloader can only be unlocked by other means
The best way for you to check your bootloader status is do identify in s1tool or similar

[Q] about bootloader

Hey guys I love my xperia but... The stock rom suckssssss. And cause my bl is locked most of the custom roms won't work on my phone...
I oppened this topic to know if someone knew what exactly is the bootoader unlocking I mean how it works (do bootloader unlocker delete and rewrite the bootloader or juste change a setting in it? Can it ne done with the developplment tool? Etc...)
Plz do not explain me that bootloader unlocking is the process that I need to install custom roms etc... I know what it is but I want to understand HOW it works.
Sry for my bad english if you can't understand something just ask me

to simpifly, you can think that the bootloader is like a safety-system. The sony makes it to accept their rom only and block others, like a kind of filter. When you unlock it, the bootloader will accept all roms, no limits.
Yup I know that but what makes this programm so difficult to rewrite? I know that its the programm that run before the os but why nobody founds a hack to unlock it without paying? Is it too hard or sony forbid free unlocking?
And again my question how does bootloader works? If someone know the code could it copy it?

It is for free. Sony created a website purposing for unlocking bootloader for those who want to unlock.
Its easy to unlock bootloader nowadays. When im was using my xperia x8, it took 8 freakin months to bypass the bootloader...

Oh boy, you missed a lot here. Take a look at guides in the general threads.
Its free to unlock bootloader
The imei way unlock (DRM data loss)
Testpoint unlock (no loss, fully safe), easier to relock and nobody can know if it was unlocked or not

[Q] How I can unlock my bootloader ? HELP

Hi everyone ! I have a Xperia Arc LT15i and I found out using *#*#7378423#*#* that I cannot unlock bootloader (Bootloader unlock allowed: No). How I can unlock my bootloader because I want a ROM like CM9 or JJ's Hybrid and it`s must to have bootloader unlock. Please help me with unlocking the bootloader, or please help to find a ROM like CM9 without unlock my bootloader. I want to say that I am not very skilled Waiting for more tips.
download flashtool then Plug in > unlock bootloader
it will guide you to sony's web page, copy paste the code and let flashtool unlock it
Actually JJ's ROM doesn't require an unlocked boot loader.
Sent from my Xperia arc S
If you have bootloader unlock allowed:no standing, then you can't unlock it with Sony service, because your IMEI number is then 15 symbols long, so no way for unlocking bl without paying for services like setool

Hi,
If you have bootloader unlock allowed:no , you can unlock it with Omnius , but is not free, 15€/unlock .
I unlocked my LT15i with Omnius, I had "unlock allowed:no" before.
So .. I can't unlock my bootloader, only if I paid :crying:
Setool & Omnius links?
you guys got any links related to this Omnius and Setool things? or other alternatives for Xperias stating that unlocking bootloader is not allowed?.. I had thought that if they say so, it was just impossible to unlock...

I'm starting to get angry I said and ludz179 in answer above you I can not unlock the bootloader so because the Service Info says Bootloader unlock allowed: No
was only giving info you say your phone says cannot unlock boot loader then from wat iv seen there is no way to unlock it.
but there is lots of roms out there that run well on none unlocked bootloaders and using new flashtool seems easy plus using DooMLoRD to root the phone .. I think the only way to do it would be to send it to sony service to unlock but knowing them you go no chance
just trying to help thats all
Can't help enquiring. You mention that there are several roms that are available which does not need to have the bootloader unlock.Could you give me the links please.

[Q] Does this method unlocks bootloader on "unlook bootloader: NO"?

I apologize if i repeat the question, but recently discovered this site:
http://w**w.unlockroot.com/
Does this way it is possible to unlock the bootloader on xperia s blocked?
And then do consseguir root?
Attention: my xperia s is referring to the "no" in unlok bootloader!
If your boot loader says no, then it can not be unlocked anyway possible. If it can root maybe it will.
Edit: it also conforms on the website that if your device say bootloader: no, then you can't unlock it.
Sent from my Xperia S using xda app-developers app
you must go to Sony's Offical page to unlock the bootloader
all third root tools cannot unlock Sony's bootloader in the root progress
(except the root tool suggest you to enter the bootloader-unlock key
(sorry for my poor english

Not entirely true... When it was launched some dealers had access to Sony certified Servers and they could unlock the bootloader status.
The problem is that Sony closed the servers and since then, only Sony can do the change.
So, to get clear: at this time, only Sony can change the lock of the boatloader authorization to Yes.
To do so you have to contact your carrier or Sony in your country.
It is not impossible, but it's only available trough the official channels.

Bootloader unlock allowed:NO!!!

I originally had an xperia c1905 but cross flashed c2005 FW onto my device. What i find really annoying is that when i open the configuration in the service menu i find out that i cannot unlock the bootloader, ie, bootloader unlock allowed no. I haver read online and i have researched it, but other posts were made in 2013, i thought id ask ahain in 2014. Is there any possible way whatsoever of unlocking my phone's bootloader? will i ever be able to do it? Are there any modern ways that i might have missed?
Guys please dont tell me to send my phone to sony and they will unlock it for me. I have already tried it, but fot no response from sony. I have even contacted o2( my sim carrier) and asked about information on how to unlock, they told me that they cannot comment on that subject.:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
If u have any information, i need your help, thank you!

As far as I know, no way of unlocking your bootloader if it says no. You still can try the regular bootloader unlocking procedure method, the only thing that may occur is it not working...
Or it can brick the device just leave it for now and wait for the time being there might be a way of doing it if it gets found if not the new firmware that's getting released shortly might lift the ban off the bootloader

I have the same problem. Please somebody need to find a way to unlock it. I bought my phone from Orange. I flashed the stock Sony's firmware and rooted it. I can't flash any CyanogenMod :crying: My old Galaxy Ace hasn't got any locks or something, installing custom roms was easy, but on this phone for me it's almost imposible...
I stumbled on a post on the Sony Talk forums the other day that stated if you carrier unlock your phone (so you can use any SIM card) and then flash an unbranded ROM the bootloader unlock status changes from No to Yes. This statement was made by a moderator on the forums and I have no idea how well the procedure will work.
Oh, the post was regarding the Z too so I'm not sure if it applies to the M.
