Good Morning All:
I got the phone rooted and the CWM recovery installed but for some reason, it didn't appear to have installed the SU Binary.
When I boot the phone, it says "Unlocked" but it doesn't have the usual "Tampered" word. I used the Root Checker app and it says its not rooted correctly.
Any idea how I can manually install the SU Binary?
Many thanks for the replies.

I have already downloaded the SuperSU from the market but it didn't work. I dont think this program actually installs the SU Binary but is more of a management program once SU Binary is installed.
Would actually flashing the CWM-SuperSU-v0.96.zip program, actually install the SU Binary? I'm worried about installing it as I don't want to brick the phone.
Suggestions?

Unable to help as I have no idea about Sony device; never play with one.
Maybe other people can help.
Why don't you post your question on forum for Sony device ?
Try Reflashing your rooted rom, assuming you have a titanium backup or another backup of some kind and then see if you get anything
Can I update SU Binary using Root Explorer. Because my phone can't unlock bootloader and I also can't update using SuperSU because when trying to update it forre close. I'm currently use SU Binary version 3.0.3. I download SU Binary file version 3.1.1 on Superuser page and then I open that zip folder > system > bin > su. I found the su file on that zip file, so can I replace that su file that I downloaded with existing file on my phone >system > xbin > su. Are this way safe.
Thanks in advance.
I've never heard of anything like that before

if you do not have clock work mod recovery installed you cannot use the su zip file because the ability to install zips in the recovery is only made possible through the clock work mod, further more the person who asked if they could use root browser to install su binary, this is not possible because you have to have an su binary and be rooted for you to even use root browser to even look at the root of your device, my apolagies mates but you are stuck with what youve got unless you write your own firmware and rom for your android and put an su binary into your rom

same problem, wifi not working and Root Explorer wont open
you might have wrong kernel
you might have denied permission for WiFi
you might have denied permission to root explorer
open your super user app look at the logs and see
also make sure the automatic response is set to PROMPT and not deny
plus just check "trust system user" so you don't have to constantly allow WiFi and other system apps that normally already have root permissions

Hi,
hope someone can help me, because untill now it was not complete clear for me.
I just got Root access on my htc one X (at least this should be the case)
But in order to test this, i want to try some different ROM.
But to use anything regarding different ROMs i need SUPERUSER and most important SU BINARY
I can install superuser without problems.
my question: WHERE CAN I FIND A CORRECT VERSION OF SU BINARY, AND WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS?
Because now he is still asking for SU binary which he can not find in the system!!!

Actually, you did not get root access yet. You need to install the su command as part of rooting the device.
I suggest you try again. Find good instructions on how to root your device, and follow them.
When you find a method that works, it will install the su command and the Superuser app, and set permissions on the su command.
This is usually done automatically by a program running on a PC, connected to the debug port of the Android device with a USB cable.
Then you can test it with an app such as Root Checker, which you can find in the Play store (free).
If I'm not mistaken custom roms come with superuser already installed, so all you need to do is unlock your bootloader at htcdev, install custom recovery then pick a Rom to flash (not forgetting to flash the boot.img through fastboot before installing the Rom through recovery.)
To update binaries just open the superuser app and it should tell you if the su binary needs updating

same thing happened to me with yakju clean install, maybe it has something to do with this? http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-4-3-rooted-courtesy-of-chainfire/
1) You must flash the Android 4.3 modified SuperSU file: http://download.chainfire.eu/340/SuperSU/SuperSU-JWR66N-S005-130625-1.41.zip
2) If you're flashing via CWM Recovery, you must hit NO when it asks you to disable the recovery restore. If you hit yes, SuperSU will NOT work.

Try installing the current version of SuperSU via Odin.. you shouldn't have to reinstall the rom...
Once SuperSU is installed, boot phone, check Play Store for updates for SuperSU and install if any. Then run SuperSU, update the binary if prompted, then when asked to disable Knox, answer yes. You should be good to go.

Game Killer - Comments on Play Store show that this is a known issue with 4.3 and SuperSU with this app.
GameCIH - (I assume this is what you meant) Comments on Play Store also show a known issue with 4.3. Some comments from dev about enabling USB debugging, but it appears to be a 4.3 issue.
Looks like you are out of luck for now unless you step back to 4.2 or below.

If you have the MK6 bootloader, avoid the MA4 stock package. You'll need the LJ2 stock package (which does not have a bootloader in it). See this guide... you can follow it up to the point where you have MH3 on your phone and then stop:

Hello people,
I have a Note 2 (SGH-i317m) running the MVLUCMK5 Official Android 4.3 rom. I flashed the cf-autoroot from chainfire's website using odin and download mode, updated super SU as soon as the device booted, disabled Knox and got the device rooted. Root was working fine. Titanium backup could restore the app backup and everything.
However, when I restarted the phone, the root was gone. Any idea what's going on? I will have to flash CF again and it will work. But the flash counter keeps counting every flash. Is there a permanent root method for 4.3?
PS: Sorry to hijack this thread. I figured there was a relevant discussion going on, why clutter the section with a new thread. Also, since my post count is low, I couldn't post in CF's thread.

I flashed the same one.
Are you running the stock kernel?
After you flash cf-auto-root and boot phone, what do the contents of this file look like?
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
Does it reference SuperSU and run daemonsu or does it reference recovery-from-boot.p ?

Here's a screenshot.
That's the correct file...
A deeper dive would involve looking at the permissions and properties of su and daemonsu in /system/xbin as well as a few other SuperSU related files in /system and subdirectories.
If you are running a custom kernel it's possible that it is pushing an older version of SuperSU (or other superuser app).
Do you have only the SuperSU app installed (i.e. no SuperUser or other app in the app drawer)?
Reaching at this point as it's not typical for the current versions of SuperSU to lose root.
One thing you can try is root with current, boot phone, immediately run SuperSU, choose "Full Unroot", reboot boot phone, then shutdown and reflash cf-auto-root and see if it sticks.
As for flash counter, once you get root to stick, you can use Triangle Away to reset that to zero - works for everything but the knox warranty counter.
Hello all,
I recently got my hands on a Note 2 running Android 4.3 on the MK6 bootloader. I have done a bit of research, but am still somewhat confused about how to root the phone. If I am correct, I just use Odin to flash this:

Onto the phone to have root access, correct?
Next, if I want to have CWM, I flash this:

If there are any steps I am missing, please let me know. I would like to procede with as much knowledge as possible to avoid bricking the phone. I am aware that doing this will trip the Knox e-fuse, and I am ok with that.
Thanks in advance!

It seems SuperSU is writing a file that is confusing Superuser installation on stock builds. If you want to install Superuser over SuperSU, you will need to manually remove the /system/etc/.has_su_daemon file.
I have the /system/etc/.has_su_daemon file.l I'm creating a CWM zip to remove it.
Hopefully that's the solution.

Whole lotta WTF. I'm now running into the same issue with the Note2_lte_e250_R7. 2 ROM I flashed.
Everything I have tried is not getting root to stick. I will kick it's a$$.
Trying a couple more things. I'll let you know when I succeed.

And it wasn't ..... I created a flashable zip that deleted them and it didn't work.
But I did kick it's a$$.
Like I said earlier I running the 【ROM】【March 01】【4.3】Note2_lte_e250_R7. 2 . It's a N7105 port for the ATT.
So I knew there was something called a Multitool in the N7105 threads from Dr Ketan.
I flashed that in TWRP, it's an aroma install type flash, so I only choose Root and install Busybox.
Like all of our other flash installs it looked like it completed successfully.
Every flash or ODIN I've done or most today, I've gotten into adb shell and did
ls -l /system/xbin/su. never saw the file.
After flashing root and busybox I finally saw
[email protected]:/ $ ls -l /system/xbin/su
-rwxr-xr-x root root 100452 2008-08-01 05:00 su
Woo Hoo !
Got into phone, ran supersu, still said no binary.
Not sure why I did this really buy I typed su while in adb shell, Supersu window popped up on my phone, I clicked accept and all root stuff is working.
I have no clue why this worked. But it did, for me anyways. Hopefully it'll work for you, Luigi.

Thanks for all the info!
So, let me get this straight:
I don't need the ROM you're running on my phone. What I should do is find the Multitool, flash it via recovery, and root and Busybox. Then, connect my phone to my computer to run adb (which I don't really know how to do, so I'll have to look that up), type in su, and then from there everything should work as normal.
Also, an extra piece of information I forgot to mention earlier that you might find useful: SuperSU does NOT start at all; it just immediately closes when I click the icon, and then the Knox warning comes up. Did this happen for you?

Really have no clue. All I know is it worked for me.
For me SuperSU opened all he way. It told me I didn't have the su binary, do a manually install. Everything I did, did not work until my last post. 99% sure it will work for you.
For ADB use this....
http://four-nineteen.com/veronica/XDA Developers/Nook Tablet/DRIVERs/ADB + Fastboot + Drivers.zip
Unzip and save only the files that start with ADB. Create a directory like ADB under C:\.
Copy all the ADB files to C\ADB
Go to command prompt in windows, cd to c:\adb directory (whatever you created)
Type adb devices. Make sure it has a device listed
C:\xUltimate-v2.4.2\jar>adb devices
List of devices attached
8675309JennieJennie device
If so, type adb shell
C:\xUltimate-v2.4.2\jar>adb shell

Just found something else that works.... I've tried it also.
Flash the AGNI kernel. (Awesome addition to a ROM)
https://app.box.com/s/9wlk6y1o50gbhmhvjp2u
Credit to @mjohnson4580 for fix.
Then flash the root update.
http://download.chainfire.eu/382/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip
See what that does.
Here's info in the kernel

I had a rooted M8, however something was going wrong as it constantly rebooted. So I did a factory reset and that fixed the problem. However now it won't root for some reason. I have TWRP recovery and flashed the root file however when I do root checker it stated that I do not have root access. Anyone know what's wrong?

Have you tried flashing a different version of the root program? I assume it's SuperSU (From Chainfire) ? It still gave me root access on 1.94 I saw that he already updated to version 2.00 by now.
Perhaps try a different version and see what it does.

I used SuperSU. Should I try Super User?
Just use the normal install method from Google play. Twrp auto Installs the su binary the first time it is booted in to. Then just update super su via play store.

Once booted into the os you should see the super su app. Go to play store and update it.
