Just now installed stock Takju 4.3 image. Unfortunately, root is not working. I flashed SuperSU.zip, also did the update of the app via play store, but when I open the app I get the message:
"There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
Any solution?

Chainfire's SU zip for GS4 4.3 works fine for Nexus also. Check his G+ post here:

same thing happened to me with yakju clean install, maybe it has something to do with this? http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-4-3-rooted-courtesy-of-chainfire/
1) You must flash the Android 4.3 modified SuperSU file: http://download.chainfire.eu/340/SuperSU/SuperSU-JWR66N-S005-130625-1.41.zip
2) If you're flashing via CWM Recovery, you must hit NO when it asks you to disable the recovery restore. If you hit yes, SuperSU will NOT work.

I installed SU superuser app from google play because inbuilt was having problems. And then I froze the inbuilt Permission manager, "LBE guard" was the name I think with Titanium backup.. Later when I updated my rom with newer version, I LOST ROOT
I tried uninstalling all superuser apps and tried installing busybox, nothing works it says device not rooted, Checked on root checker, same response, device not rooted.. Now what can I do to get back the root... I even re-updated the rom but still same problem, NO ROOT HELP PLEAS

OK, so I have a P605v (locked bootloader) with Android 4.4.2 that is rooted using Towelroot.
Installed SuperSU from the Play Store and it works, but always asks to update binaries. Since it's stock recovery, it can't do so. Anyone know of a way to update them with the stock recovery?

Download the latest version of SuperSU from http://download.chainfire.eu/448/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r5.zip .
Unzip it on your PC and then look for the superuser.apk file in the common directory. Copy it across to your tablet and then run it.
It should let you update the binaries - just use the standard method. You may need to reboot a couple of times.
I had a rooted M8, however something was going wrong as it constantly rebooted. So I did a factory reset and that fixed the problem. However now it won't root for some reason. I have TWRP recovery and flashed the root file however when I do root checker it stated that I do not have root access. Anyone know what's wrong?

Have you tried flashing a different version of the root program? I assume it's SuperSU (From Chainfire) ? It still gave me root access on 1.94 I saw that he already updated to version 2.00 by now.
Perhaps try a different version and see what it does.

I used SuperSU. Should I try Super User?
Just use the normal install method from Google play. Twrp auto Installs the su binary the first time it is booted in to. Then just update super su via play store.

What is the install method via google play? I've only ever flashed a zip file.

Once booted into the os you should see the super su app. Go to play store and update it.
Thank you to XBrav for posting this solution!
Since I cannot post or reply in Dev forums, I found this root method that has been confirmed multiple times to work with the NF2 build. It also worked for me; however, I had to flash SuperSU using TWRP rather than installing from Google Play as it would not work properly.
Confirmed working on my Rogers Samsung Galaxy S3, Stock 4.4.2, NF2 build.

1) Install TWRP through ODIN: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/104
2) Install Team Epic root through TWRP http://www.epiccm.org/2012/06/team-e...-recovery.html
3) Reboot, and install SuperSu through the Market: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....supersu&hl=en
4) Boot SuperSu, and upgrade the binary (normal seems to work fine). Allow it to remove SuperUser. I also allowed it to remove KNOX.
5) Reboot, and you have the latest SU binary working.

Notes:
a) if SuperSU just doesn't seem to be working properly, uninstall the Google Play version of SuperSU, download the ZIP and flash using TWRP: http://download.chainfire.eu/452/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip
b) if SuperSU seems to be taking too long to disable KNOX, reboot the phone and try again
Happy Rooting!
Hi,
I recently updated my phone to Lollipop. I am looking to root it. This will be the first time that I will be rooting my phone. I have unlocked the bootloader but when it comes to updating my phone to install TWRP I get the message "Download complete. We will now attempt to reboot into TWRP and install SuperSU. If this app just closed, try rebooting into TWRP manually". I click continue but nothing happens. I am also unsure how to manually update this? Please help I'm a noob to this stuff.
Thanks

Go to TWRP manually and install supersu.
Choose install and scroll all the way down and choose supersu.zip
I've managed to update the app but when in supersu I am now getting the error message saying, "There is no SU Binary installed, and supersu cannot install it. This is problem! If you just upgraded to android 5.0, you need to manually re-root". Does this mean I have to downgrade to kit kat?

No, it just means you need to get a flashable SuperSU zip, put it on the phone, and flash with TWRP.

Having the same issue here. Flashed UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip but it says there's no binary. Enabled dev mode and root in CM12.1. Any ideas?
EDIT: Solved by installing the latest v2.46.

As you've discovered, v1.80 is very obsolete. Lollipop requires the latest version. I don't think a working root for LP was implemented in CuperSU until around v2.43 or thereabouts.
