[Q] wich rom + kernel? - HTC One X

hi guys ive been trying a lot of ROMs and i wanted to ask wich rom + kernel will bring me best battery life out there ?

Android Revolution HD with stock or faux123 kernel = best battery life available

big thanks but wich faux 10m 105b ?

10b5 became 10u. Use 10m, mainline. 10u is more aggressive

installing rom thank u

Just press the "Thanks" button , it's better than just saying .

See this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31689937 for battery life as well. It all depends on your usage.

I recommend Faux 010U
It overclocks a bit

Which is not so good for battery life.

Do you feel difference with the custom roms

In terms of speed( maybe because of gpu rendering )
Battery life
Smoothness
I want root my one x but I need to know if its worth it?
Maybe you could recommend me a Rom with the above things or the extra options you have by having using the Rom
Thanks already

What about battery life

I'm on android revolution.
I think there is a difference but it might be psychological.
If you want a reason to root, do it for the get rid of the three dot menu mod and so you don't wonder what it would be Luke outside the cage.
I have more standby time + on screen time on ARHD 6.0.0 and i have also crossed 5.30+ hours of on screen on stock.
Will post my ARHD 6 on screen time with autobrightness!

Best battery life kernel

Hi guys sorry if its noob question but I'm looking for best battery life and wanna know which kernel provides it. Currently using faux 06 and uv -100, still not quite satisfied. Any thoughts?

Any kernel that uses the stock 2.17 kernel as a base should greatly improve battery life.

and which kernels are those??
I recently used the NCX kernel with AOKP rom..it did not give me anywhere near their advertised battery life.

HTC One X + Viper X 2.1.0 + NCX 0.99a Kernel = 3.5 hrs Screen Time (Best so Far)

Hi, friends..i just wanted to share my experience........i have been experimenting with different kernels and custom roms for last couple of months, in order to achieve a better battery life and an acceptable smoothness of the OS. The last kernel i tested was "Faux 07 Mainline"......and i liked it. However, i came across "n3ocort3x 's kernel" yesterday and i never looked back again. My first battery cycle on this kernel was great....now after a couple of cycles, i reckon this is the best i could get out of my HTC One X. I got 3.5 hrs of screen time for the first time and trust me i was doing a lot of XDA browsing & gaming. i used to get around 2 hrs on screen time using other kernels as far as i can remember....... Thank you "n3ocort3x" for your hard work and i must also mention, Viper X 2.1.0 is the best rom out there for "HTC One X". You guys rock. So, the best combination for me is "HTC One X + Viper X 2.1.0 + NCX 0.99a Kernel = 3.5 hrs Screen Time"......so i would really recommend this if you want a perfect balance between Speedy OS & Better Battery life.......Outcome = an efficient device which lasts longer & a happier you. Cheers and long live XDA.
Sorry to burst your bubble but I can get four hours screen on time with that kernel. But I agree for me the kernel is brilliant.

Same combination here
do you use the oc version? Which governor do you use?
I am quite happy with it, won't change it.
The only thing I'm missing is sweep to wake.

This is my second cycle and I am down to 40% with 2h 37min screen in. Browsed a lot. Played dead trigger for 15mins. And few other games. Watched a movie for an hour. What do you think? Will it improve more? I am on the same combination.
I also want sweep to wake.

Agree,
Cpu is what uses all the power,
If you were using ie. The kindle app and reading a book, you could easily get 12+ hours screen on time.
However, play a big 3d game and expect around 2.5 hours.
My average on stock kernel on ARHD varies between 3.5hrs - 4hrs

I was just glad to see the kernel performing so well.....thats it....faux's kernel was good but once i installed NCX's kernel, i couldn't believe my eyes.....battery was draining slower and was lagfree as well....with every cycle as the kernel settles down, its only gonna get better.....cheers n3ocort3x....you r the man....keep up the good work.

HTC One X Monster + Viper X 2.1.0 + NCX 0.99a Kernel
Also had 4 hour screen on time (HIGHEST HAVE HAD).. 4 days into 2.17 OTA... used to get average 2.5hrs
All stock no tweaks with general browsing through out the day and about 20 minutes on dark knight rises.....

Really... Any screenshots? I think you could only achieve this kind of on screen time doing very less. Anyway, whats the point of getting better battery life if you r not doing much.

What's the FASTEST custom rom right now?

Hi guys!
What's the FASTEST HTC One X custom rom right now?
I know, that probably you would say that depends, they are all different, everyone has its pros and cons.. but i think that there must be a rom out there that stands out in terms of smoothness when doing the most basic activities (sending texts, browsing internet or even just scrolling the menu..)
I hate to say it, but when it comes to overall smoothness of the system, iphones are still the state of art.
I don't care whether it's a Sense, Non-Sense, miui or whatever...
can you suggest me a rom that's fast and smooth across all basic activities?
Thank you, guys!
I love viperX with faux kernel. So smooth.
Ir you want fastest may try kernel oc . It's better performances

I'd say try ordroidx. 8.3.0

I would highly recommended trying slimbean. It's smooth as silk.
Another vote here for Ordroid

well since you brought it out yourself I will once again remind you that it really depends how you want to use it. I use ARHD.
All of them
The fastest out of the box and in terms of stability is probably AOSP from all I've read TBH. Though it will differ for each user depending on his/her use case. Also different combinations of ROM and kernel can affect speed.

Almost 100% correct. InsertCoin for ICS.
I've tried most of them and in terms of speed and battery life, Ordroid is the best one forme.

latest CM10 + ncx_v13_aosp + 4.2 gapps. awesomeness!
VIper X + ncx kernel + undervolting = Obscene battery life and performance
ARHD 9.7.2 + Faux12b,wonderful for my T-Mobile One X,at the moment
I bet most respondents here are just stating the rom they use and haven't actually compared against the rest. Many are loyal to a particular dev and rarely try others.
Just try them all bud and be your own judge.

One more for ViperX with Faux 12b1 kernel of course.

I would have to disagree.
My best friend has stock One X and while installing applications and configuring settings for him I noticed it is slower and it has graphic lag, not to mention it is crippled without all custom tweaks.
