Does this happen to anyone else? If I am on wifi and turn it off it takes a couple minutes for 3g to kick in. Very strange...
Idk about taking a couple minutes, but yes it does take longer than I think it should. Maybe a minute tops, I've never really timed it. Hth

My takes fairly fast by man when I had the Photon it was lightning fast like instantaneously switching.

I'm also seeing this happen. Last couple of days maybe. After wifi is off, 3g takes a while. Also when booting.

Same here. It takes a couple of minutes. You'll get it faster by turning off/on mobile networks then you will waiting for it to connect on its own. The Photon was instant, but the S3 definitely has a lag there

This is,with screen on. This seems really excessive, or am I wrong?
2 minutes 20 seconds is 2.33 minutes, so 2.33 x 100=233 minutes or a little under 4 hours, which isn't too bad of screen on time, but you can get better depending on your setup.

Well you should probably one click back to el29 rooted and go from there since you gave us no info on your setup

Biggest help with screen on time is to turn the brightness down as low as possible...

Hi everyone, I noticed some times gps doesn't turn on after deep sleep unless I restart the phone.
I wouldn't like this to be another vibrant! Has anyone noticed this issue?

I hadn't noticed this.... used it today and gps locked in about 3 seconds... so far I'm glad I sold my gs3 for the note 2... If you are having issues use the return policy to get a replacement.

that's odd, my gps is actually pretty dang fast. never takes more than 3 seconds to pin down on my location. usually instant.
Thanks guys for your replies. My gps locks very fast too, but it stopped working after almost 30 mins of driving then I had to restart the phone. So far it happened 2 times.

I would return it then... unless you are in a bad signal area. .. THIS is a-gps or assisted gps... It has to have data to work

okay so when I go to work I usually turn off my Wifi to save battery while I'm working since I keep my phone on. I don't touch it at all and I always leave the house with a full charge. The other night I accidentally left the Wifi on and when I left work I looked at my phone to realize my battery was a lot higher then when I turn it off. I don't connect to my works crappy Wifi either so I think it would be searching the whole time wasting battery... so what's better or is something wrong with my phone?

Wifi off when not in use is better for battery.

Yes that's exactly what I'm saying! Which is why I'm so confused! I tried it multiple times too and every time my battery was a lot higher leaving it on not connected to any network...

I'm on slim atm and my phone keeps jumping to 3g right after a milliseconds after I stop using data of any kind and its quite annoying that it won't stay on h+ all the time, especially with tethering or using tumblr. Anything I can do? ><

I forgot to mention that as soon as it goes to 3g it cuts data off, reason why its annoying.

It's called "fast dormancy" it's a feature which puts your data connection into different states to avoid excessive battery drain.. it's actually very helpful in maintaining battery life. Do a Google search for "fast dormancy" there a a bunch of XDA threads explaining everything.
I do admit it's sometimes quite annoying. While I am tethering, I simply open a command window and ping Google endlessly. It keeps the connection always on. Annoying but it helps. Sometimes I don't even notice a difference.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I really don't think you want it on h+ constantly you would get the quickest battery drain

Have you tried changing your screen timeout settings? I know on certain devices that the data wont slow until the screen is off.

Dude, data cutting off aside, that's supposed to happen as others have mentioned. Think about what you're asking, you want to constantly keep 4G connection even when you're not needing - that makes no sense. Does a bullet train go 200mph when it has no passengers? That's what you're saying.

Yes I understand there would be a significant battery drain but what if I could toggle it for an hour while tethering so it would stay on h+ constantly than toggle back go regular way. And the ping someone here mention doesn't work on iPad lol that's pretty much what I want to tether.

short answer .. yes.
I've been working on this for awhile. I personally want it because I get slivers of 4g where I live but the majority is h.(3g) so I'm trying to figure a way to force only 4g(h+) but it's proving quite difficult. It's looking to be only possible via a radio edit. Meaning editing the radio to tell the phone it's only capable of 4g(h+) data connectivity.

Anybody else have problems using the premium version? Even with 4g it won't use my data to access anything. It won't even connect... is it going to be updated or should I just lie down and cry that I paid for something no longer receiving updates and use tapatalk?

I have issues with it but i keep tapatalk on hand

Been going in and out for me for weeks. You're not alone.
The xda app has lots of issues. It doesn't start properly and also takes forever to refresh when it does work. I'm very disappointed in the paid version. I use the app constantly, and still hoping for a fix

Think a few nights in a row they were working on improvements that is why I could not connect. This was a few days ago. Could not connect on a computer either. I'm sure we will see changes..only time will tell.
