Hi, I was updating my apps on my HTC Desire while I got into low memory; as I'm using link2sd and it takes some time to view the "true memory" I chose to reboot my phone. With surprise the rebooting process got stucked and as I'm using live dmseg lite v2.6 I can see it got stucked after the S-Off image and the line that is printed when I try to enter in recovery, fastboot, hboot is:
gpio_keys_scan_keys: key(1-74), 0 (94) changed to 0
or the same with a 1 at the end when I press power and volume down. I'm following this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275632 to try to flash another boot or something else as I don't know what the problem is but the device is not recognized by the pc since I'm not in hboot, I'm simply stuck in a place I don't know... then if I wait for the boot it only prints the status of the battery every now and then
What has happened? It is due to low memory? How can I solve it?
Thanks

Hello,
yesterday i tried to root my Desire, but i forgot to remove HTCsync, now the phone boots sometimes untill screenlock/pincode. then the phone resets itself, and just vibrates 7 times and boots/reset for aprox 3 or 4 times then it dies.
unrevoked worked fine until it was waiting for a reboot it never installed clockworkmod so i dont have a clue how to fix it, i tried to flash PB99IMG from different stock roms, the Desire was simlock free, but now it tells me wrong CID,
now i have:
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.02.0001
MICROP-031d
TOUCHPANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.11.05.27
Jul 22 2011,16:19:16
So i can go in to the first stage of recovery, (vol down plus powerbutton) but when i want to continue to RECOVERY the phone gets stuck in the white screen wit HTC logo and thats it.
thanks in advance,
best regards,
Marcel
Search for a user called 'bortak' and look for his troubleshooting guide, it should give you enough info to get your phone working again!
It sounds to me like you should have read and learned more before you did this. If you can press volume down + power and you get the Clockworkmod Recovery then you can stop worrying. Plug the phone into the PC via USB cable and then using the trackball or the volume +/- buttons scroll down to 'Mounts and storage' then press either the trackball or power button to select. Once there scroll to the bottom option, 'Mount USB storage'. Your PC will hopefully recognise it as a disk drive now.
Now go pick any ROM that will work with a stock hboot, they will quite clearly say 'stock'. I personally use LeeDroid 3.3.3 HD wotsit, Apps2SD. Runs well, battery life is good but don't feel that you have to copy my choice, any ROM with a 'stock' version will work.
Download it and copy it across to your phones SD card - you did remember to connect the phone as I detailed above right?
Ok, once done press the back button on the phone, press back again to get to the main menu then select factory reset, then wipe cache then select 'Advanced' and wipe Dalvik cache. Press back, install zip from SD card, select the file that you copied to it, let it do its stuff and click reboot when prompted.
Hopefully, you'll have a working phone.
A couple of caveats though :-
1) You will lose all apps and data and have to start afresh
2) You will lose all contacts and messages (unless already backed up to Google)
3) I am assuming that you have created an EXT partition on your SD card. If not then you have REALLY jumped into this too fast!
And finally, don't try flashing different hboots via the pb99.img method until you have a clue what you're doing.
Good luck.
Hi there thanks for the quick reply,
the problem is i can get in to fastboot, but when i try to go in to recovery the phone stays stuck in the white screen with the htc logo and thats it.
i already rooted a different desire and that went smooth. no probs what so ever.
So i repeated the same steps on this desire and everything went exactly the opposite
way that it should have been.
Volume down + Power on is not fastboot, that's recovery.
I'm out anyway, all of the answers are available.
You have to create a goldcard:
http://android.modaco.com/topic/308798-pc-application-goldcardtool/
You can this with another working desire as well, because goldcard is only connected to goldcard and has nothing to with the phone.
When done, put this in your desire and then flash ruu via PB99IMG.zip file again. The goldcard will avoid CID error.
will it work if i use my Legend for making the goldcard?
Don't see why not. Just give it a try.
vibrates 7 times... that's a bad sign :S
now i keep getting main version is older???
now i'm stuck with the htc logo and the for reclamation marks in every corner.
i cant use android flasher because i'm S-on
if i try to update i get : radio v2 failed.
then partition failed?
i have created a gold card without any problems. but now the phone doesnt even give me the chance to select fastboot or recovery, it only says RUU and then the 4 exclamation marks.

Could be radio brick. Hope for you that it is not!
Did you use the PB99IMG.zip method with your goldcard?
is it possible that the gold card i created with my htc legend doesnt work in my HTC desire?
Don't see why it shouldn't work. But not 100% sure.
Hi all,
my girlfriend's Desire is stuck on boot (just after "HTC" is shown, animation "quietly brilliant" does not show up).
I informed myself and tried to do recovery (after Volumne-Down + Power button pressed at startup) but the phone does only vibrate once and jumps back to HTC boo screen - no options to format / wipe show up.
According to thetroubleshooting thread my only chance to recover while S-ON is to create a goldcard and to use RUU. I created a goldcard using my own desire (using her's was not possible since device was not found by adb - does not boot up). However, when I try to install the RUU using her device again, it is not recognized - neither in fastboot nor in hboot usb plug mode. Guide says I should boot up the device for applying the RUU but this is not possible for her device.
I also tried "[7]RUU WITHOUT USB CONNECTION". The phone loads the image (takes a while) but then stucks displaying "checking ... [PB99IMG.zip]".
So my question: Do I make a mistake? Any better chance for me to recover her device? I am out of ideas.
Thanks!

Yes, seems to be similar.
However, he seems to be able to flash a new rom. When I try to install the RUU (even when placing the ZIP directly on the SD card), it fails.
Hallo,
just now I was trying to open an app on my DHD but it kept force closing so I decided to Normaly restart it. When I did that it went to the Welcome Logo then got stuck and kept on turning on and Off.
Then I removed the battery and tried again. This time the Bootscreen appeared (I was glad since I could recover a backup version of the RAM) but to my amazement I couldn't navigate through the options. Even the power button didn't work. I tried several times but with the same results.
I was wondering is there a way to restore my mobile from my laptop (USB Debugging?) now after I reached this state?!
How could I solve this?
Any help would be appreciated
UPDATE: I noticed before the Bootscreen loads, there appears some messages quickly before they disappear. I kept on turning my phone on and off to see what they said eventually I came out with this
P98DIAG.ZIP

P98DIAG.NBH

ring any bell?

Can you navigate any menus? If you can't you probably have a volume key hardware issue. If you can, i would just put a p98diag.zip on the root and reflash (use the rooted one).
Sounds like you are booting into bootloader. You need recovery. Pull the battery, then reinsert and hold volume down + hit power. If that doesn't work if you have adb set up on computer, plug it in to computer and use adb reboot recovery.

I guess that you have a PD98IMG.zip on sd card.
Remove it or everytime you reboot in bootloader it will ask you to update in a never ending story. Probably this is why all other commands are not working except reboot.
Then reboot bootloader and go to recovery.
No I can't navigate (the weird thing is the power button also dosen't respond) it's like it freezes as soon as it turns on... Could you give me the PD98IMG.zip in a separate link?
I tried reinst the battery while holding the volume + but it didn't work. It vibrated 4 times while the charge light turned green but that was it. It stayed green and the screen was off...
I've always had the volume keys issue even before it went crazy (they do not always respond to my press) but I just installed 3rd party apps as a workaround.
I couldn't find the p98diag.zip anywhere on the SD card (could you give me the path for it?)
I will try to reboot it through my laptop but could someone give me the commands I should write? I'm not that experienced in that field.
Btw I left it for a while before I turned it on again, it went into Safe Mode (no apps no nothing) then I turned it off and after several tries it finally turned on in the normal mode and was almost stable until I restarted it and it went to point 0 again and now I'm stuck with the bootscreen :S
Thanks for your help
Do you have adb set up on your computer? If so then connect phone to laptop. Open command prompt type "adb remount" then "adb reboot recovery"

while looking through the files I used to root my phone when I bought it I found the p98diag.zip. I copied it to my SD Card and wanted to install it. It found it but then it said
Parsing...[SD ZIP]
[1] BOOTLOADER
[2] BOOT
....
but it's been like that for 2 hours now. I tried reinst the battery and pluging in the mobile to my laptop but it didn't recognize it. (I tried the adb and it gave me Device not found" error!
Is it normal for the phone to take long to parse the zip file? what should I do now?

You shouldn't have installed pd98diag. I would suggest either trying to run the ruu to get back to stock, or find the stock rom in pd98img.zip form and place on root of sdcard. Then reroot and start over.
Edit: if you find the stock rooted in pd98img.zip form that should work too and you won't have to reroot.
Edit 2: be sure to remove the pd98diag.zip from your sd card.

Good advice! I still have all the files I used to root (even the RUU)
And you're right I shouldn't have flashed the old pd98img because now my laptop can't recognize my mobile and I can't debug it from the command line (it says Device not found)
Can I still be able to root the img without using my phone? I used this guide to root my phone (http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-downgrade-htc-desire-hd-to-root-it-after-ota-update/)
Where can I find the rooted img? and will it be possible for me to upload it here so that someone could root it for me on his device and give it to me rooted?
To boot into recovery
Hold down volume - button (not +) while pressing power button.
Let go of power button but continue pressing down on volume -.
Hey presto ... recovery.
It's a very easy mistake to make, I did it myself a few times when I first got into rooting and flashing ROM's.
lol!
no mate I wish it was like that.

Greetings
I was very happy with my phone "HTC One X" (Beats the hell out of Galaxy S III because of SENSE). But suddenly it got restarted and held on the bootup screen forever(The screen with HTC ONE X showing).
I then went to the bootloader and it hangs on "Checking SD card update".
The following things I have already done so don't tell them to me :
1. Restarted the phone using power+Volume keys. Restarts but same problem.
2. Drained the battery and kept my phone drained for 1 week. Recharged but same problem.
Details of my HTC ONE X(Roms bootloader and all) :
1. ROM - LEE Droid (I dont remember the version and there is no way I can find it out.)
2. For more details I am attaching a shot from my bootloader.

Did you have a file update.zip or PJxxxxx.zip on your SD? Just a guess but bootloader tries to load files with specific names when it sees them on sdcard.
If your phone is unlocked, rooted and with CWM Recovery, try connecting your phone to pc via USB, reboot bootloader by holding down power+vol down keys, and hope it will go to fastboot mode. If you can get there, you can go into recovery and use adb commands to pull, push or erase files.

Hi had all different roms on my DHD and settled on Ice cold sandwich which it has been running for a few months now, earlier on today I noticed that it had gone off and only the backlight was on, So I restarted it and it started loading the screen up but then just went into a loop.
So i pulled the battery and went into recovery and reloaded the ICS rom, but know it just vibrates 5 times and shows the splash screen and goes off with just the backlight on again.
I can get into fastboot but when i press the button for recovery it does the same I've tried every pd98img I could find and it says wrong image after I try and load them.
And when I connect it to the pc it can't be recognised by htcsync or thru any adb commands, and windows tried to load a driver called Q_USB-DLOAD or something similar then loads a qualcom usb driver but adb commands still won't recognise it, been looking all bnight for an answer getting desperate.
Thanx in advance Michael
1. Remove your sd card and try to boot up again if it boots up then there might be something corrupted on your sd. (Possible sd may have gone bad)
2. Try to enter hboot with power button and volume down at same time to see if you can get into hboot. If it dont your boot img may be damaged and you may need to push it again thru ADB.
3. If you can get into recovery try full wipe and reflashing rom. (You may have to use an adapter to get rom on to sd since computer dont see phone then place sd back in phone)
These are just a few ideas you can try hope it helps.
