Okay so we decided to try our skills at porting and this is what I have currently.
We're not trying to step on Aeroevans toes by any means. I have nothing but respect for him.
This is just our first port so we thought we'd try something easy.
Special thanks to (not all are members of the team) but deserve credit anyway :
CyanogenMod
Aeroevan
LiquidSmokex64
Nitsuj17
This rom will evolve as our skills increase and more ports are in the making.
As a priority we always try to have GSM working for you non-Verizon customers and will be noted as if working.
Ports are from Galaxy Nexus (toro) unless otherwise stated. You may PM me requesting a port and I will see what I can do for you.
And without further delay here's the link

Yep. That's correct:good:
Thanks DKStunna108 for the GSM love. Would it be possible to build a ROM that supported both GSM and CDMA? For those of us that travel internationally on GSM and then run CDMA at home. I have yet to find any other ICS based rom for the vivow that supports GSM properly...but I also need to run on Verizon when in the states.

Hear, hear! In exactly the same situation myself...
Actually, I just noticed that 3G HSDPA doesn't seem to be working on this ROM. "Mobile network type" is listed as "HSDPA:9" however "Mobile network type" shows "Disconnected". It never shows "Connecting" though I have confirmed that mobile data is turned on.

I have successfully ported the CM7 release to our devices. The kernel is made by Bobzhome, and without him I wouldn't have touchscreen support. There are many problems with it, but it boots, and texting and calling work. So does Internet. I need beta testers, so if you flash report error please report them here.
Flash like any other rom:

Hello, I am happy to test this for you!

So, I attempted to use the camera, and it froze the whole phone, in which i pulled the battery, and now it is doing endless reboot.
Simonssimons, great to hear you're developing, but alquez has the stablest release ever!
CDMA users have just to wait a bit. You can maybe share your kernel with alquez?

Bobzhome forked the kernel from alquez's github Then did a bit of cleanup/mod... I'm sure alquez is aware of it.

CDMA And GSM on this device are two totally different "Devices" in a way. GSM Wont even make it past HTC scrreen, believe me I tried. THanks to bob i currently have a V3 kernel, testing now. Working on everything. Fixed camera. BT is all thats not working. Id love if alquez would help me get it perfected. Id add him to the thanks area. Id also like to help him get a cdma version working. But im contuining my build for the VMUSA model at least. We have some major differences in network routing ect.
Edit: Also im down with pneumonia, im spending alot of time sleeping. The rest developing
I cant wait till its complete ! thanks for porting this

Thanks. It seems to have fixed USB tethering to fix the root permissions. But wifi tethering seems to still be down. I got to find some aosp libs for all my hardware the sense ones seem to get me into a netd 1.0 loop. Any ideas on that?

I seem to always get in trouble for making a thread, or it goes unnoticed. just a question on how much work would it be to port over a Verizon gnex rom to sprint gnex? I'm not dev at all but I imagine it would only be a radio and some other small things. Again I could be missing the big picture, I just got my sprint gnex yesterday and I can't wait for highly custom roms! If its not to advanced I'd love to take a crack at it if anyone would be willing to teach me how
Mods move it to wherever you want....
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Too me it just seems that something needs to be done with the radio as of now flashing a verizon rom works fine except for the radio which is data and whatnot. As soon as they get aosp running with mms fixed and find the radio so if the radio gets borked then I am sure those developers of the verizon roms could hopefully just add compatibility with sprint.
That is all I know as of now
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
why would you want that? the sprint rom is better
What makes it better though? Aren't they literally the exact same phone just different networks? I'm glad its better if it is I almost bought the Verizon one hahah

One is not better then the other
In fact like i said above Verizon roms almost fully work on ours except the radio, once they get that fixed i am sure we can share roms with verizon people but who knows? Our device is still brand new and will be a little bit til we have as many roms as verizons forum
BTW don't flash verizons roms until there is a radio fix some poor people have broken radios and are waiting as people are looking to fix it.
just in case you were thinking about flashing one
There is nothing superior about Sprint roms that isn't remedied by AOSP.
Now if you are talking about zip roms, tsk, tsk.
Those are a crime against humanity...er, the Nexus The device is open enough to not warrant such a thing.

They use differen radio frequencies, which the CPUs are programmed for. They are incompatible. That's what causes the data problems. That's just about the only difference in terms of hardware.

Once we have the cdma radio pulled and mms working would there be anyway that verizon roms with a little modification to the radio and whatnot to get them working easily. or do they have to redo the whole rom special?

The only real difference from Sprint to Verizon are the ril props outside of the mms issue.
So, no, not hard, but just as easy for the devs to simple compile for Sprint.

im trying to get my s2 to ics. When i got it was on gb, and even now there is no update when i check it through the phone? I have already rooted it so my question was can i just flash an ics rom and it will work?
Also can anybody point me to the most stable rom for s2?
Yes just flash an ics rom and make sure to darkside super wipe and cache wipe. I would say try aokp if you don't need wifi calling.
If I helped you hit that "thanks" button
Thanks for the quick reply mate! I just downloaded the dark side tools and am browsing through the various roms right now. Is Aokp stable, b/c i was surfing through cm9 official not nightly posts and seems it still has quite a few bugs. Looking for daily driver.
I also have 2 more questions. There are a lot of modems, once i flash a rom will i need to flash a new modem to work with ics? Or am i good already as it will come with the rom or not need to be changed.
Second, what kernel do you guys recommend?

Yeah you need to flash an ics radio. Its modified to work. In darksides rom threads there are links to radios that are compatible.
For stability aokp is fine...I'm on darkside.evolution.3.v8. Pretty stable and has wifi calling which I need for international calls. You should give it a go....everything you need is in his OP. Easy as cake
Good luck

There is no additional monthly charge to use the Wi-Fi Calling feature on your handset.

Calls made from the US to US numbers
Calls made from the US to international numbers (subject to international rates)
Calls made from outside the US to US numbers (not charged roaming) [emphasis added]Calls made from outside the US to international numbers (subject to international rates, but not charged roaming)

The key for succesful wifi calling overseas is to make sure youve got a good connection and plenty of bandwidth which, depending on where you are, may be hard to find.
Has anyone been able to find a 4.3 ROM for your toroplus that has EVERYTHING working?
There is one that comes very close; ParanoidAndroid for AOSP 4.3 but it has data issues. It's a real bummer because the rest of the ROM is outstanding!
Thanks!
From what I understand, there are no 4.3 binaries for the toroplus. Which is why you dont see any 4.3 ROMs popping up like the other versions of the Gnex.

...so I fixed the radio/data bug in the android framework and built one!
Here's a CM 10.2 Nighly from this morning; Built at 2AM PST. I'm in an LTE Area and can verify that both LTE and 3G work just fine.

The only issue is ALL of the mobile network modes are enabled currently, use CDMA/EvDo auto for 3G only and "LTE" for 4G.
Hope this helps!

So I loaded houstonns 4.4 lgog build onto my ls970 and it loaded up fine and ran smoothly. I was wondering if someone could help with getting the radio working on it? Are there aosp radios I can load to make my service work? Thank you for your help
Won't happen because the ROM is for a GSM phone. We're CDMA. It would take a lot of work to get data working for us.

If it's an ATT ROM, I don't think you can. Gsm vs CDMA. There's a hybrid radio people have used, but running it or ATT ROMs isn't a good idea. People have bricked from doing it.

Ok thanks for your input. I didn't mind trying it out since this is a spare phone I had lying around. Worked great though and even showed sprint apns under settings. also showed signal too but I could not make A call. Thanks again

Do you know if it was the 11/1 or 11/3 build?
I used v3 that was created on 11/2
You need the CDMA RILs i believe.
Any idea which ones specifically. I was looking into modifying it for us yesterday. But I can't find any documentation specifically naming ril libs as the ones required for CDMA.
