constant bootloop untill i factory reset. - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

im having a weird problem with my incredible 2. i downgraded the software/system version/radio so i could achieve s-off and root. finally got root and s-off, but now whenever i reboot my phone it wants to bootloop at the home page when its loading everything. it will never get past that point until i factory reset (data/cache wipe). then it will finally boot up normally. but the next time i go to reboot, it bootloops at the same spot. its a never ending cycle.
ive tried several radios. stock and custom roms. nothing seems to work.
the only thing i can honestly think of is when i used the revolutionary program to get s-off. i didnt use the incredible 2 version, i used the incredible S version with the different HBOOT number (i had i think 1.02 or something, and it said 0.82). it still worked regardless. if your wondering why i used a different file, it was because i had a brain fart and thought i had a incredible S. could that be the issue?

yeah, thats really the only thing i could think of too. i guess i gotta figure out how to get s-on, and do the process right the next time? lol

If you can wait for someone with more knowledge than me, do it. There are guys out there that know a lot more than me about the process.

true, but its really the only logical explanation really lol. so ive been following this thread http://rootzwiki.com/topic/1579-how-to-restore-to-stock-from-alpharevx-incredible-2-vivow-only/

okay, im back to 2.2.1. im looking EVERYWHERE for something to upgrade me to 2.3.3 so i can get s-off and root again. but i cannot find it ANYWHERE.

sigh* nvm. found the file for 2.3.3. been tinkering with this phone all day, cant help but to get a tad frustrated.

this is driving me crazy. i downgraded back to s-on and 2.2.1. when i go to use revolutionary, everything works, but its doing that same bootlooping nonsense as before. idk if its my phone or revolutionary.

*update*
figured it out. managed to get s-off and push cwm recovery, flashed superuser, installed a rom. updated superuser. everything seems fine for the moment.

Awesome, I remember when I s-offed and I was ready to throw my phone and PC out of the window. But I did my research and troubleshooting like you and would do it all over again to reap the rewards of these custom roms

Have you tried going back to your old hboot and original factory settings then doing it the right way? Also did you flash the 320 radio and wipe cache? Try that first then try the original hboot and that'll just put you back with your original phone

[Q] Not rooted, won't boot, no recovery

Although this is my first post, I am not a n00b. I've rooted and unrooted several phones. Now, I'm trying to help a friend out of a jam but his device is seriously hosed.
Here's the current state of the device:
Hardware version - 0001
S-ON
Stock ROM version 3.30.651.2
HBOOT 2.02
Here's what it's doing:
It will not boot into the ROM or into a recovery.
It WILL boot into the bootloader and fastboot.
Fastboot USB works fine. ADB Shell does NOT work.
It will attempt to load PC36IMG.zip files from the SD, but not being rooted, they don't process correctly.
Here's what I have done so far:
I have all the shipped ROM RUUs going all the way back to 1.32. All of them except the two most recent (3.30.651.3 and 3.70.651.1) fail with error code 140 - bootloader version error. The last two fail with error code 170 - USB comm error.
It appears he was trying to root the device himself and botched it. I have not seen a scenario like this one before (not rooted with no recovery and RUUs fail).
Anyone out there with more experience who can offer me some guidance?
Can you do a 'fastboot getvar all' and see what it says? Just don't post the SN

You'll want to hide the IMEI number too.
Everything looks normal, you should be able to run the 3.30 ruu with your phone in the same place you got that info from. You may want to turn it off and let it charge for a half hour or so first though.

Yeah thought so too. That RUU craps out with EC 170 - USB comm error. However, I know there are tons of threads on that topic so I will go review those (again). I've done lots of RUU re-loads for folks with the system config I am using for this phone too. The most critical thing seems to be having HTC Sync 2.0.33 installed, which is the case. I'll try some other versions. and report back.

Make sure your ruu version is not older by a revision or any thing like that and letting it charge for awhile with the phone off would be a very good idea. The battery is pretty low

Good news and bad news...
Good new is that that with HTC Sync 2.0.31, I was able to reload the phone successfully to 3.30.651.3. Or more specifically, the RUU update process completed successfully.
Bad news is that now the phone will not turn on. Pulling the battery and waiting a few hours has not helped.

.76 Hboot Issues

Hey guys,
I downgraded the 2.10 hboot on my Evo to .76, and I have done this countless times in the past on other Evo's. This one has turned out to be different. It only enters hboot and RUU mode. I ran several RUU's and it fails, which led me to find out that it has bad blocks due to the previous partitions being different stock. I am unaware of a way to repair bad blocks...Just thought I would double check.
BTW, only a few partitions will flash. The others have bad blocks and will fail, including hboot. I wanted to send this thing to HTC but with the hboot being ENG I don't think it'll help too much...
Any suggestions?

Ok I just tried flashing all the partitions I could find an image for. The only ones to successfully flash without an 'image update error' was microp and nv.
I ran 'fastboot oem partition_test' and it spit out so many bad blocks it would be ridiculous to post here.

HTC Desire HD 3HG_UK Stock ROM

Hello,
Yesterday I attempted to root my HTC Desire HD. It did work, however, I could not run apps as root. I was then told to run the hack kit again, but that just broke my phone. Now it is stuck on a screen which reads "HTC" in the middle, with warning triangles in the corner, I am also unable to boot my phone into HBOOT, however I am able to use fastboot to flash my device.
The ROM I have tried to flash to the device does not work, and gets stuck (forever) at a certain point every time I try to flash it, which leads me to believe that it is incompatible with the device.
I am no longer interested in rooting my phone, but instead to turn it back into a phone instead of having a brick sitting on my desk. I have tried to search for 3HG_UK branded stock ROMs. However, I have not been able to find any.
Does it matter if it's branded, or not? If not, where can I find a stock ROM which is compatible with my device?

Ok, two things:
Who told u to run the Hack Kit when already S-OFF and rooted? anyway, the manual says not to do so
There´s no need to flash a RUU if u are S-OFF and have CWM recovery
If you are S-OFF (check in hboot) then check that u have CWM recovery and then u can easily flash a custom rom...if not you will need a ruu to have a working phone, but if you are S-OFF you will be able to flash an unbranded one...

Desire HD hangs on startup after update
Hi all,
My DHD stock phone offered an update tonight. After installing the update it rebooted but never came past de startup screen with green HTC. At the end, I pulled out the battery and restarted, but it still gets stuck on the start screen.
Using the volume down button I did a factory reset, with no effect.
Any ideas how I get fix this? I have no idea how to make a gold card (or what it is to be completely honest)
Thanks so much!

here in a few steps what i did to fix the logo screen stuck thing... maybe it guides u in a direction.... first of all i figured it out what rom was in my phone, than with the gold card ( its a card that grants u acces to write rom to your phone if this has a protection activated on it) i simply rewrite the rom, using RUU file ( RUU = rom update utility ) but finally for me its a hardware issue

So what exactly is a gold card, is it an sd card specially formatted? In hboot it does say S-on...

then here is where i had issues, i installed an Endeavor rom on my Evita device, it was an honest mistake
because its my friends phone and i did not know enough about it.
Now where i am at is i have tried different roms to try to fix it
then factory reset
the device has no rom from my understanding, gets stuck on boot but i can get into fastboot and adb push
files to the device with no real issue.
here is the getvar

I guess you had re-locked back the device?
You need unlock it yet again to flash custom things.
Curiousity drove me for the question, how you enede up with correct recovery and wrong custom ROM. Don't mess up evita and edeavoru again, it is dangerous.. Remember go back to X+ forum.

Yes i relocked the device to try and flash and ruu but nothing is completing, im not sure if im using the wrong ruu file
or maybe there's something im missing.

Sorry! still confused with the naming schemes and everything.
Update flashed a boot.img after unlocking again and installed a recovery!
