Hello all
I live in philadelphia and here sprint does not have 4g lte as of yet. but for those who are able to get the lte service i wanted to know when tethering does it use the lte speeds or does tethering only apply for 3g?
It uses which ever ur connected to I was in San Antonio and when I had LTE tethering was faster then my house speed at times

So my phone has no problem connecting to edge and 4g, but i can never get it
to connect to 3G, is their a mod or app that can fix that?
The only way you will see a 3G icon is if your area has PCS HSPA and your phone connects to it. Otherwise it's just 2G/4G
4g is 3g.

Yup 4g on stock gs3 is hspa+, hspa and umts(3g),that's how tmobile have it

Am I the only one wondering why tc would want to connect to 3G?
Is 4g logo for connection speed is the highest connection speed or is 4g + or 4h logo for higher connection speed I'm not getting ? I'm in Houston ,tx .what's everyone else getting in this area ?

So far I think T-Mobile only uses 2 logos. Either edge or 4G. 3G is also 4G in their dictionary.

Then how do we know we are on hsps if we only see 4g? This is horse cocky lol:what:

If you see 4G then you're on HSPA+ network. If you see Edge (E) then you're on their 2G network.

enjoy those slightly better than 3g speeds on your 4g connection.
From now its only gonna get better!!!

Damn that's awful.. But proportional to Sprint's 3G speeds. Matches HSPA haha

Actually I got better speeds.
I thought the Note II handled simultaneous voice/data over 4G. I tried to use it today and couldn't even though I clearly had 4G connection.
Has this worked for anyone else? I'm wondering if I was really connected to the "enhanced" 3G and LTE

Voice and LTE work simultaneously. Or at least on my phone.

I'm thinking that I may have been on the enhanced 3G and not actual LTE. Does your signal show 4G or LTE?
Thanks

It shouldnt matter what 3G your on. Sprint does not have an enhanced 3g (4g). LTE is the only 4g that the Sprint Note 2 has. So if your running LTE it should work.
Oh and the phone doesn't show LTE only 4G icon.

Makes sense. Thanks

This depends on what rom you are on. If stock then it will show 4g.some roms have it show lte when the phone is connected to 4g.
there is simultaneous voice/data over LTE but not on 3g. On a stock rom it will day 4g at the top.

Yes I know some people on T-Mobile here who do download lte on off from the play store then tap phone info and make sure your phone is on LTE / WCDMA auto prl or LTE/GSM auto prl.

I have LTE enabled plan in Chicago and I get LTE signal and speeds there.
I've been traveling last week, got LTE signal in las vegas without changing any settings. I arrived to los angeles yesterday and since then have only had H signal (which I believe is hdspa).
Not sure what's wrong.

I do commercial hvac work and I'm always on the road. I can tell you that I get lte almost all over LA. There are some areas that don't, but a majority of them do. I get Lte in Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica... Although Hollywood has more dead spots.
