I am looking for a way to increase my sound level. I have an unrooted galaxy S3 phone and would like louder sound. If anyone could help it would be great. Love the phone. I am not yet comfortable in rooting my phone, I tried it on my Captivate and destroyed the phone, just sets in the box. If anyone could help it would be great. Thank You. Gale

i'm new to the whole rooting thing, but i want to do it. i have a SGH-T959 Vibrant and i downloaded the one touch method. Thats not the real question i have, i'm rooting so i can overclock my cpu and do the lag fix. I've read that i have to install a new kernel or something to be able to do these. Does anybody know what i have to do to do both of these?
My main concern is if it well make my phone interface look different or act different, because i like that stuff about the phone, it just needs to go faster.
And does anyone know about maybe being able to use some of your internal or external sd cars memory as RAM, like a computer?
Any help would be great, Thank You.
Also if i root my phone and everything will i still be able to do the 2.2 update when it comes out?
Bump

I'm with you on this one. As soon as I get my hands on a computer I'll try searching. Head over to the Inspire section, I believe it was under the Q&A section there's a sticky for miui. If I find anything I'll report back.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25326631
Edit: I believe the ics versions have better sound. But yeah, I preffer GB for now.
2nd Edit: still reading, you can try this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15771934

have you tried other Miui derivatives
and do you mean like speaker volume in total
for that XxXPachaXxX has a fix, head over to his website and download the zip called extra loud or something and flash that
also his sony BE mod is really cool
Right now im testing a different one that I grabbed from over the inspire section since my cell is that.
And yes, the only prob. I had was the speaker volume. Everything else worked fantastically.
I was running dekky's latest GB build.
Funny thing, if it weren't for my gf that complained (we both have the same cell and since she was complaining about battery life, I told her to install miui - which of course meant me doing it after a few more days of hearing her complain. I was happy, I don't even listen to music on the cell and didn't care) I wouldn't even be here.
Sorry about that, I needed to vent a bit.

A few things, still testing. This place isn't about others doing things for you. Hence, chill out and be patient.
Edit: you can search for a file called inspire gb audiofix and test 0301 and install both.
If I knew how to upload the files I would.
My gf says it sounds better with both. I have no idea since I don't listen to music on the cell.
2nd edit: flashing the first fix mentioned made me loose sound in calls.

Posting in multiple places won't get you anywhere.
you want louder volume in speakers of through headphones? because that's how MIUI is. Try using other GB roms because i'm using MIUI and i just tested the speaker volume and that's fairly low but through headphones it can get really loud.
I am confused still from threads and an app description I read
So the original volume problem of fluttering was fixed with the earlier version of the GSM Nexus. Google said the one last week was a brand new version. Nothing new, just fixes I suppose. Is he correct
Well it seems that the volume is still low and I have seen other threads, opinions
I saw Volume+ But it said do not use NOT rooted. I don't wanna root
Can someone tell me if I really shouldn't use that AND / OR what a good app or fix is?
Thanks so much
Eric
Just use volume+ it works without root. I use equalizer by smart apps myself, but either works. You can near double your volume and blow your speaker if you go too high.

Thanks to both of you
(Not related but not worth a thread. U have or the link to the original black wallpaper with nexus x in the high resolution. I thought I found it on Deviant but it is really charcoal grey. Thx)

how much higher would u recommend? My S2 is on +14 at the moment and I want to know if I should use a similar scale on my nexus when it gets here.. thanks
I have been asked by alot of folks on "why" would you root your phone. I tell them it gives me (the owner of my phone) complete control over my little S2. Some understand...but some look very confused :. So I tell them this example and its like a light goes off in their heads
Lets say that you just bought a brand new Mustang Gt. You paid for it and it is yours. Now this Mustang comes with all available "options". But Ford has them locked down and you can only use the ones that they want you to use. So lets say out of roughly 50 options Ford allows you only 20. BUT....when you "root" the PCM you have totally unlocked all the options on your car and it can now reach its FULL potential.
After I give them that example they understand and then they give me their phones to be rooted!!! This is just al little something for the Non-Rooters who visit our threads. Enjoy:laugh:
Dont root will just break ur phone :banghead:

Root only if you want to OVERCLOCK your phone , or you want to Install a Custom run ( which i think you would as stock rom is **** )
It'll give you special access to Overclock your Phone which maybe dangerous , you are playing with your phones hardware.
If you use it just to personalize your phone with a custom rom you are good to go , but it'll void your warranty

Some of the responses are incorrect. Rooting will not void your warranty. Only if you leave it rooted. If you to return the phone just unroot by flashing a stock rom. As far as benefits go rooted is definitely better. You can install custom roms, kernels, mods, etc. Overclock and underclock. Use custom recovery like cwm or twrp instead of stock recovery. You will also have a faster phone with a custom rom and most have tweaks for internet, gps, data, audio, etc. So the overall phone will be better so root away!!!

ROOT = Mustang GT
STOCK = Prius :crying:
Every time someone has a problem with an app acting up or freezing and or lost data; I tell them that's why I root. Then explain titanium backup.
Every time they have a problem with call clarity or whatever; I tell them that's why I root and explain to them about flashing a radio.
You can see were I'm going with this!!!

Well, I finally changed from a Galaxy S2 to an S4. I so love this phone but not sure what's with audio out. I use a 40 watt radio with audio in and hook my phone up to it. Using an equalizer in the S2 I could turn the volume on the phone most of the way up without problems. If I turned it up all the way thought he speakers in the radio would distort. But the radio sure put the volume out! Now that I have the S4 I've installed the same equalizer and set it the exact same way. I can turn the volume up all the way on the phone plus turn up the two band equalizer on the radio and it's nowhere near as loud as when I had the S2 hooked up. Both phones would warn me about having volume up to loud when using headphones but I always ignore that since it's a radio I'm hooking up to. Is it my imagination or is the S4 just not putting as much out as my S2 did?
Viper4Android will solve ALL your sound woes. It requires root though but its TOTALLY worth it.
Lol, looking at it in Google Play it doesn't look like it's in English so I think I might have trouble with it though. Rooting the phone is no big issue. I've rooted and unrooted it already.
