Live/Work in 4G, 4G soon, or 3G nework?

Hey future Evo owners. A lof of talk has been going around to say that the phone is not worth it unless you live in a 4G area, so I was curious if you guys live in a 4G area now, in an area that will soon be 4G (like NYC and LA this summer), or in a 3G area. I could not find how to make a survey, so I am just going to post the question...
I am in a 4G soon area.
Sprint posted that the Orlando Florida area will be getting 4G by end of summer
I don't live or work in a 4G area, however it's only about 25 minutes away (Tacoma, wa) so whenever I go to the "Big City" I'll have 4G.
Well worth it to me.
It'll probably bleed down here soon enough anyway.
the huge 4.3 screen is worth it! your eyes will thanks you!
Portland, OR resident here... the city where it all started
4G coverage here should be quite good since WiMAX has been live the area for ~1.5 years or so.
Live in Atlanta, so I'm covered with 4G. Pretty excited.
I go to school in a 4G area 9 months out of the year, but right now I'm stick in a town that probably won't get 4G for quite some time. Honestly, I doubt I will ever use it outside of showing off to friends thanks to campus wifi and 4G's terrible signal penetration.

Congrats dude, I lived in vegas for awhile, I miss it :/
I'm in phoenix, no 4G here(i know, 5th largest city in the US or something and no plans even, wtf.
I was surprised to find 3 cites in North Carolina have 4G coverage. Not exactly disappointed though...
I wanted the Evo for the phone, and couldn't care less about 4G until I realized last night that I have Clear coverage at work and am on its border at home! Now I'm completely overwhelmed!
I can't wait until tomorrow!

lte in pittsburgh

22/10 in downtown with 5 bars where i used to only have 3
Doesn't look like the LTE upgrade made it very far away from downtown. Checking up near Gibsonia, there's no LTE service.

[Q] 4G threshold

Ok so in oakland CA Sprint apears to have been lighting up their 4G LTE network, I randomly connected to it last month, and just the other day it was on stable all around my Apartment. Getting up to 11Mb connections.
Today the 3G seems to keep jumping on, in preference of the 4G inside the best signal strength i've seen is ~-77 to -81dBm, and as bad as -93
It would be really nice to be able to force 3G to sleep, or to change the dBm threshold timeout :|
Anyone figure out how to do this, even a low strength 4G is much faster than the 3G network in my area. This is super annoying, some of the other droid OS's had an option to turn off 3G, but not Jelly Bean apparently??
Thanks Guise.
Go into your mobile settings and there are several options that will work...cdma/lte.

Sprint is not suppose the release LTE officially for the Bay Area until June or July so they are still in the testing phase.

Ahh good to know I've been wondering why it keeps coming in and out sporadically, and that's only partially correct its already in the North Bay, which is Why I got a Galaxy Note to replace , my E4GT. Since I spend most of my time between North Bay and East Bay SF.
I was actually getting Decent 4G speeds out on Alcatraz, which you can see my LTE trail from the Pier to the Island on Sensorly Maps.

Lte speed here in california (santa monica)

was drivin around santa monica today and saw my 4g let icon so I decided to run few speedtest. and the highest numbers are got are this showing in the pic

No Lte in Fort lauderdale Florida after all

Even tho in the pre release rumors there was suppose to be LTE in Fort Lauderdale there will be no lte in south florida only miami. I have lte now on my s4 but the singal sucks for example. on 4g ill have 3-4 bars but in the same area turn on lte there will only be 1 bar, Called tmo nd they are idiots dont know whats going on. so i guess they are having problems with the towers or the south florida is that important lol
