Beats Audio is nothing more than marketing, it's just taking compressed music and applying equaliser settings to make the music 'pop'. It's little different to any other settings you get on audio devices that claim to make some improvement, which anyone really wanting good audio quality would defeat straight away.
Nice looking phones though, bet they would run Jelly Bean just great

Phil
i bet my cookies this phone is gonna fail

Picture in WP7 Mondrian rom (showing blackstone with wp7 buttons)
a bit suspicious is that the accompanying specs that the tipster sent pocketnow differ from what we have seen references to.
Specifically:
Size: 116.7 x 58.7 x 11.9 mm
Display: 3.7" WVGA AMOLED capacitive touch screen
Camera: 8MP with auto focus with camera flash with High definition 720p video capture Internal memory: 16 GB flash, 512 MB RAM
Chipset: Qualcomm QSD8672, 1.5GHz
we're seeing references to a 4.3" display and a Qualcomm QSD8650A/B 1.3GHz CPU in the reg files of the rom.
Brandon Miniman (pocketnow.com)
(source)
here are some of my own (fake) artworks:
The second is just the old Touch HD with the buttons changed.
(you can actually remove that pic)
The first is the real deal.
My belief is that these are fake.
Reasons are two-fold:
1. The black spacing is too big. HTC would not release a design with this flaw.
2. Whilst the user is able to, OEMs are forbidden to remove or even move the four main tiles.
The four Microsoft tiles (Phone, Contacts, SMS and Email) must not be moved from the top of the list in their pre-defined locations.

From the WP7 customization document given to OEMs - here. I therefore doubt that HTC would release a mock-up design like this.
Casey
Ive herd that W7 will support multi-operating systems on one phone. any one else here that?
I have a feeling the keyboardless WP7 phones are all going to look boringly similar.
I have a feeling the OEMavatar is just an avatar of what you would see when you connected the phone to the computer, and synced to Zune. Something like that. Maybe its just used as an image throughout the system with no significance. However, the picture in question looks interesting. We all know that HTC has been advertising and shouting their name on the phones a little more [i.e. bigger logos on the back]. Now, as far as i know, i dont think theyve ever included the phones name on the back. notice, HTC "Mandrian", but then again, one cant help but wonder if HTC is going somewhere new with their phones. The dual flash looks a little suspicious as well. And the curvature of the chin is un-HTC like. Until we know more about the person who submitted the photo, its all speculation..
just my 2 cents.. :]
whatever it is HTC has in store, i'm quite confident it wont disappoint. Has anyone been disappointed with the specs/design of HTC's phones lately? i know i havent.

Well, the phone on the picture is anything but new, it's the good old HTC Touch HD.
A Qualcomm QSD8672 chipset? That would be crazy so I doubt it. On the other hand, devices featuring the QSD8672 chipset are expected to be launched in the second half of this year, so the time frame is right.
For those not familiar with the Qualcomm QSD8672 chipset, let's just say that it is a beast of a chipset. It features a dual core 1.5 GHz Scorpion CPU, a pretty decent GPU and 1080p encoding and decoding. The GPU is comparable, if not better, than what OMAP4, Tegra 2 and Samsung's Hummingbird have. The CPU is faster than anything else on the market and the chip has other benefits in comparison to the other SoC on the market. All in all, a very good chipset to have as your baseline specification of your platform.
But as I said, I doubt that the first WP7 phones will all have a Qualcomm QSD8672 chipset. One can always dream though :.
Quite frankly I think both pictures are fake. The first released picture like everyone else is saying is just a Blackstone. The second one is fake, because HTC doesn't actually have the OEM Name on the actual device. My Tilt2/TouchPro2 doesn't say 'Rhodium' on the back of the device. I don't think you would see 'Mondrian' on the back of this device when it comes out either.
Just think it's too early to speculate.
So many people with no clue here^^
So it's basically the HD3?
Not like we didn't see this coming. What I would like to see is a US launch of the device before the end of the year (as opposed to the HD2, which wasn't launched in the US until March).
The 2nd picture isn't a 'fake' but it could be a dummy image for the purposes of testing.
However....not sure if it has any bearing on reality or if they've ripped the info from other sources but the Mondrian is now listed on GSM Arena with it's specs etc and the same 'blackstone style' image.
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_mondrian-3338.php
With regards to seeing 'branding' etc on the device, personally I feel that a prototype device might have branding for use within the design department of HTC perhaps.

MS have stated that WP7 devices will not have SD card slots and will come in various capacities instead...like the iphone (6gb, 16gb, 32gb etc) and there will be no file system access so they might have done away with micro usb and have a new connector type seeing as the WP7 phones need to be sync'd via the Zune software (also similar to the iphone + itunes)

so microsoft's next phone is a lot like the iphone
there are a lot of similarities yes....but there are also a lot of differences between the iPhone and WP7.
The truth is that until the release (Dec 2010) we won't know the full details as a lot of functions will also be device specific. People seem to forget that MS set a MINIMUM specification but not a maximum one (obviously) but there are a number of RULEs that they are also enforcing such as the 'no removable SD card' rule and no custom UIs.
For all the talk of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in recent days, there's still quite a few questions surrounding the flagship Ice Cream Sandwich phone.
All the Question are discussed here. Let's hope all your doubt are cleared before you get Hands-On to this awesome gadget.
The images & full specifications comes from Asia where the Japanese operator NTT DOCOMO has confirmed the availability to November 20.

This is somewhat correct, according to reference from trusted sources, Galxy Nexus does not come with a microSD slot.
But, it do come with 1750 mAh Standard Li-Ion battery.....means replaceable.......
So don't worry......It's going to Rock.........
For a super phone with a legendary name it sure does seem featureless in that 2nd pic. As many features as a blackberry ? WTF? 5mp.........no thanks, I'll wait til ICS leaks for my Hercules.

Sorry, I just confirmed by contacting a guy who had hands-on this gadget....
The SD card news was from a site which they says the official specs.
world phone
With all the different version of this phone, does anyone know if there will be a world phone version? More specifically, will the Verizon version be a world phone. If not, I'll have to pass and be very disappointed.
Looking awesome! I'm excited with this one, even thoigh it doesn't havw microSD expansion. Hope the price will go down soon. Btw, will they sell it world wide?
Does anyone find it interesting that they didn't even say what processor or gpu the Nexus has? They merely mention the clock speed.
It might not even be the TI OMAP like everyone thinks. What if it's Exynos?
Hmmm, these features are not so compelling. Only thing that interest me is the screen.

Unfortunately though, the battery has the NFC stuff, so if you're thinking of getting a replacement/extended one, you'd be losing that...

The 100$ range getting really good this days- who could believe that you can buy quad core 4.7" HD OGS IPS 1GB ram smartphone including shipping ?
Few month ago @100$ you could only buy cheap low quality 480P TFT 512MB ram dual core android 4.0.4 smartphones-and now- .
I am interested to know if there are real differences in hardware between UMI and DooGee DG350 that its cheaper.
I just received this today- UMI X1 Pro for 110$ with coupon code :3d1a7c

yes,it support 3G band 900.
2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz
This mobile phone design and Doogee DG350 is very similar.
Generally, Umi X1 pro and Doogee DG350 are the same phones. There is a little differency in battery, earphones in pack(doogee) and 3G - UMI is 900/2100, Doogee 850/2100.
Today I've flashed Doogee stock rom to UMI X1pro and it worked perfectly...
I don't understand, why UMI doesn't have ROM download on their webpages...Doogee has it here:

And what about 3G? It was staying 850MHz or changed to 900MHz?
And camera is just as poor as was or better?
I don't know.... It works, but only because I use wcdma 2100.
If you can tell me, how to test it, I would try.
And camera is same. Nothing special.
I do not have this phone yet, but if you could look into settings ->wireless & networks and probably SIM management. It should be ticks at the appropriate frequencies there.

Thank god it's removable, I'll be just replacing the battery with another one. btw, I finally found the replacement for my Sony xperia J and BlackBerry curve 9320. Awesome phone.
@ForumNinja I was missing the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 in the OP
Leaked preliminary benchmarks:
Seems to perform very, very well.

Front Speakers?
Where are the front speakers? I don't see them. Supposed to be on both top and bottom of display, but I don't see anything resembling a grill. Have blown up several pictures trying to see this feature. Is there a super-thin grill across the entire width at top and bottom of screen?

Yeah, it's a thin strip across. Hard to see without looking close in good lighting.
So are there any known developers that will buy this phone?
I think I like it a lot, from all I've read. The front camera is useful for much more than selfies because of the super-wide angle - basically you can easily put yourself in a shot of any scenic spot you are at. And the insertion tricks with the back camera are nifty too. And for Skype it will be great.
Just got mine in the mail today! It's an amazing phone !
Can anyone confirm if it has MHL?

Yes, it does, according to HTC Support chat.
MicroUSB v2.0 (MHL)
HTC Desire EYE unthrottled erformace
I was running some performance tests on the Desire Eye today and wondered why I was getting really low scores. So I poked around and first discovered that I accidentally left power saving mode on which really affected the preformance scores. I then turned off the power saving mode and was really surprised by the scores. It even beat out the S5 per the geekbench program. I usually leave this on power saving mode on to lengthen things out, but I am really pleased with the performance and quality of this phone.
Wait..it's removable?

The OP said its the flagship of desire line meaning its the top of their mid tier phones. Only the One series is the true flagship. This phone although great specs was not supposed to blow anyone away. after all its $150 on contract thru AT&T and $30 at best buy right now.
With a phone that has the same specs but better camera than their flagship how can we say it is a mid range phone??

Scores much higher on all the synthetic benchmarks than my Nexus 5 does and nearly as high as the Nexus 6. I'd say it's a high end phone. I got over 40,000 on AnTuTu...my Nexus 6 gets 47,000-50,000.
VoLTE ???
Hello to all from Geneva, Switzerland,
Can you tell me if this phone is compatible VoLTE ?
Thanks and merry XMas & Happy new year to all

Actually I wanted to, but now it seems to be hard get my hands on one. Most shops for some unknown reason do not recommend this model.
I know that GearBest have it in stock. As I've been looking at it. Out of interest what phone would you recommend most out of the ones your reviewed? I currently edging towards the Jiayu S3 Advanced (3gb version). But I've read that apparently it comes with malware installed on it. Have you come across this?

No I didn't have malware on mine, and if I had, I would just root the phone and remove the malware. But yeah the S3 is definitely a good choice.

That was exactly what I thought. Plus the S3 comes pre-rooted anyway, so you just have to enable it in the settings. It couldn't be any easier really. The only issue I'm having now is deciding where to buy it from. I've only ever used Merimobiles before. But I've read good things about Banggood and GearBest. Which would you recommend?

mine is totaly different
1 compared to the v1 of elephone p6000 (broken) and v2 p6000 the battery is much cooler is quite cool to the touch
2 my example has a more longer lasting battery they even gave me two covers one transparent and one s-cover clip on
3 i bought it at a later production run actually one whole month after the first gen phones where launched are you sure that phone is really a mijue and not a imitation even unknown phones are copied i think china does not know what copyright infringement actualy means?
4 my supplier never failed me yet can not vouch for other suppliers or customers every one has different experiences
dont like it move on or change you supplier for someone with a better reputation might give you better phones?
just a thought
good luck with your next supplier as the one you've chosen is clearly crooked
