wifi connection funny on lower vsel values? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

My phone works fine with tweaked vsel values from streaming HD from my PC to regular function. Something weird I noticed, that could just be my ****ty actiontech fios router is that my picking up and auto connecting to networks has slowed down. I switched to a new rom and new vsel values today and I'm wondering if it is the rom or the new vsel values

Wifi not picking up signal

Hi guys,
My tp2 is unable to detect the home wireless network on a Linksys WAG54G (WAP and modem). The tp2 (set to high performance mode for wifi) usually has no issues with wifi and i have been able to detect / connect to several public networks elsewhere. It is running a custom Miri rom wm6.5 sense 2.1 with radio 4.49.25.88
I have tried both mixed / G only modes with SSID broadcast enabled with no luck. 2 other laptops in the house are able to pick up and connect to this signal. Tried disabling security and tinkering with Channel frequencies 1, 6 , 11 and some of the advanced wireless settings (beacon interval 50, mtu and frag threshold 2304). I havent experimented with the MAC add filtering and static IPs..
Are there any ideas or obvious things im missing out?
many thanks

[Q] wireless n connection .

Hi all
Wondering of anyone else is experiencing this. My gn won't connect using wireless n regardless of distance to my router. Connection speed is always below 54mbps. My laptop connects no problem.
Currently using codename Droid and router is billion 7800n. Tried forcing both router and phone to use wireless n.
Try resetting router. Before doing that make sure you have your router set to allow x amount of connections. I had my router set to allow max 3 connections and when I tried connecting my nexus one the other day I had to bump it up to 4 since my N1 was a 4th user.
Sent from my Nexus in Texas.
tried all of the above. quite frustrating when the GN is supposed to be able to do wireless N.
found this http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=22474, gonna see if that helps/goes anywhere
What frequency are you using? What is your beacon interval set to on your wireless access point
hi,
Same issue :
connecting at 68 Mbps max.
2,4 + 5mhz both ...

This is an important point. I would also add, if you are using both spectrums, are you using the same SSID on them?
Typically if you use both spectrums, you would configure them with differing SSIDs. When given the option, I have seen the GN prefer 2.4GHz spectrum over the 5GHz spectrum.

[Q] Wifi Auto frequency setting problem

Is anyone else having a problem with wifi that connects, works for a minute, then disconnects over and over if the phone is set to Auto. If i set it to either 2.4 or 5 ghz it works fine. Just wondering if its something to do with my AP even though the rest of my wireless devices have no problems

5ghz wifi much slower than 2.4ghz, is it just me?

so on my home network I have noticed downloads being very slow on the 5ghz wifi on the play z. I got my partners moto X play and ran the speedtest right next to my moto z play and hers gets 50mbs and I get 5mbs...
to help me trouble shoot, is anyone else experiencing this?
thanks!
I would try restarting the router or changing the channel. Keep in mind that 5GHz does not have the same range as 2.4GHz and will start dropping off and getting slower as you move away more quickly. Most of my devices slow to a crawl or drop when I move outside on 5GHz but 2.4GHz keeps trucking.

its being tested next to a moto x play so the signal isnt the issue. the router has been rebooted a few times and it makes no difference.
as I say, its only a problem on the z play and not the x play
Can you please confirm whether moto z play supports wifi AC standard?
How do you use 5 Ghz band, if not?

It does not have AC but can use 5 Ghz.
I'm having the same problem, it's pretty weird because I use wifi sweet spots to test lab speed and I can't get up to 150 Mbps but on the speed test app I can't get higher than 5 Mbps, I think it's a software thing....
Tri in wireless- Adavanced Settings
Transmission Rate: (Default: Auto)
CTS Protection Mode: (Default: Auto)
I don't have those options under advanced wifi settings !!
Maybe you need to reset the wifi settings. In the Advanced Wi-Fi choose Reset default networks.
Or Maybe you are having something that restricts your connection from the phone, things like VPN, proxy can interfere with the connection speed of the phone.

App That You Select 2.5ghz Vs 5ghz WiFi Frequency? Constant WiFi Authentication Issue

I am looking for an app that lets me control what frequency my phone uses for WiFi.
Alright....I am so sick and tired of all the issues I get with WiFi on my Nexus 5x. It seems like every new build I get more and more issues. Stock, Pure Nexus, and RR Roms have all given me issues.
I know that this was an option in the WiFi settings pre-Android 6.0. With how many issues with WiFi has been present in N and M, I have read that controlling what frequency has helped other people.
With the removal of the WiFi frequency option the updated WiFi code is going to try and secure the best connection. The problem with that is my Nexus 5ghz doesn't like connecting to 5ghz. The issue is that my works router has multiple Access Points that broadcast in 2.5ghz and 5ghz. My phone won't stay connected to WiFi because it connects to a 2.5 and then goes to a 5ghz thinking it is a better connection
