[Q] Wifi Auto frequency setting problem - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Is anyone else having a problem with wifi that connects, works for a minute, then disconnects over and over if the phone is set to Auto. If i set it to either 2.4 or 5 ghz it works fine. Just wondering if its something to do with my AP even though the rest of my wireless devices have no problems

[Q] Wifi "disabled"

I'm having a strange issue in which my phone no longer auto connects to my wifi router reliably.
I an running cm6 rc2 with the 7.3snap kernal.
What happens us that it auto connects fine at first, but after a while it disconnects and does not reconnect unless I manually tell it to. under the connection list it says the connection is"disabled". Anyone know how to fix this?
Anyone have any idea? I'm still having the problem.

[Q] Wifi keeps disconnecting

I'm getting very annoying Wifi disconections all the time, like every 1-2 min my wifi disconnects and reconnects in a while.
I think I tried everything possible:
- Battery manager -> all settings (maximum performance, battery saver..)
- Wifi settings -> "never" sleep, "sleep when screen off", "never sleep when plugged"...
But still wifi disconnects all the time and it is very irritating when browsing.
Is there any fix to this?
P.S. it seems that while talking on skype the connection is active and does not disconnects even for hours!
Any ideas?
I think Defy (at least some) has Wifi issues. My problem is, as soon as I try to download anything (i.e. Market app) all devices connected to my router drop their conenctions, so as my Defy. I found it very annoying.
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread by the way.

Do you have Bluetooth enabled on your Defy and/or other devices? It might interfere with WiFi signal.
Try to use static IP-addresses for the devices attached to your router.
May try disabling 802.11n in the router and/or defy. And try using wpa2-psk if not yet.
Many people (including myself) have solved their wifi issues by updating their sim and I recommend getting a uicc sim. T-Mo asked me to go to one of their wifi hot-spots and see if I still had connection issues. I did. So they gave me a uicc sim and I currently have zero connection problems. But, that's just me.

hehe i know what you mean. I had that issue for so long time.. At the end, solved by these steps:
1) router's firmware was upgraded to the latest version (don't understimate this!)
2) from the router's config page, i assigned a static ip for my Defy
3) i switched the router from N to G mode.
Now it's stable and all works well, no disconnections any more!
PS. Netgear dgn1000
ok then, my "router" is acutally a wifi PCI card that tethers internet using Conectify.me
I do not have bluetooth or any other wireless devices enabled.
I'm using wpa2-psk as well as 802.11g.
What is that uicc sim? I don't think that t-mob UK have that kind of sim
Tried using static/dinamic IP address with no difference
Weird thing is that while on skype call the wifi did not disconnects even for hours.
And if I leave a skype call on background I can surf the net ...but I have to bother someone all the time

Wifi issues - solved - use TKIP rather than AES
I had the same problem.
Changed security settings on wireless N router from AES to TKIP and works fine.
Seems that defy has some sort of problem with AES security.
When I was on 3.4.3-11 based Roms this problem was happening, but when I switched to 3.4.2-155-002 and others my problem was solved. Try barebones, xd1 or jboogie rom's.
try:
the defy CAN´T handle router with WMM + 802.11n standart.
Log in to your router an turn off WMM or switch the wifi from 802.11n to 802.11g

App That You Select 2.5ghz Vs 5ghz WiFi Frequency? Constant WiFi Authentication Issue

I am looking for an app that lets me control what frequency my phone uses for WiFi.
Alright....I am so sick and tired of all the issues I get with WiFi on my Nexus 5x. It seems like every new build I get more and more issues. Stock, Pure Nexus, and RR Roms have all given me issues.
I know that this was an option in the WiFi settings pre-Android 6.0. With how many issues with WiFi has been present in N and M, I have read that controlling what frequency has helped other people.
With the removal of the WiFi frequency option the updated WiFi code is going to try and secure the best connection. The problem with that is my Nexus 5ghz doesn't like connecting to 5ghz. The issue is that my works router has multiple Access Points that broadcast in 2.5ghz and 5ghz. My phone won't stay connected to WiFi because it connects to a 2.5 and then goes to a 5ghz thinking it is a better connection

Bluetooth / WiFi interference

Hello
Anyone encountered this? If Bluetooth is switched off (MM) and WiFi as well, the WiFi drops, slows down to a few kbps - all sorts of problems. Bluetooth OFF - and WiFi back to normal.
Someone said this is because of BLE switched on - however, I don't know how to switch it off permanently.
Also, moving to a 5GHz WiFi isn't an option - I am using as a carputer and I cannot tether on 5 GHz with the phone.
Any ideas?
Michael

WiFi/Bluetooth problem

Hi,
I have noticed a pretty annoying problem with the upload speed when connected to a 5 GHz WiFi and having bluetooth enabled at the same time. Here's the problem in detail.
1. Turns off both WiFi and bluetooth.
2. Turns on WiFi and connects to a 5 GHz AP.
3. Performs a speedtest. Here I consistently get about 115 Mbps/115 Mbps/3 ms with a stable link speed of 150 Mbps. All good so far.
4. Turns on bluetooth and connects it to my headset (Plantronics M70).
5. New speedtest, same results. All good.
6. Turns off both WiFi and bluetooth.
7. Turns on bluetooth again and let it connect again to the headset.
8. Turns on WiFi and connects to the same 5 GHz AP.
9. New speedtest. Now I consistently get about 115 Mbps/40 Mbps/3 ms until steps 1 and 2 are repeated. Turning off only bluetooth doesn't help. WiFi must be turned off/on with bluetooth disabled.
I'm on version V11.0.4.0.QDLMIXM.
Have anyone else encountered this problem or is it my headset that is to blame?
It obviously isn't interference due to only using the 5 GHz band. Furthermore, the WiFi works fine together with bluetooth as long as the WiFi is connected before the headset.
I've tried to change some bluetooth settings in developer options with no success. I also tried disabling A2DP Offloading with setprop but no difference. The network works flawlessly with all other devices.
Any ideas?
