Unable to Start Phone - HTC One X

hey guys
I just rooted my HTC ONE X using a Mac and tried to install CM 10 onto the phone. After loading the boot.img file onto the phone, the phone is now not starting up.. it keeps turning on and going as far as the screen that says, 'htc quietly brilliant'..
i am unsure on how to get the phone back to just functioning normally. I am using a Mac and finding it hard to find help on how to revert back to original
any tips?
cheers

Did you do the command 'fastboot erase cache' after you flashed the boot.img file??

Get into fastboot reflash the boot image most of the time the error is the user not typing in the correct procedure to flash ie : fastboot flash boot boot.img hence you get the white screen simply restarting the process in fastboot always seems to work , fastboot wipe cache , then head to recovery to install Rom , you should be fine from there.

try another Kernel, it will fix my solution

[Q] "Android" Logo Bootloop

Yesterday I wanted to flash the new CWM (5.8.4.0) but I accidentally flash using fastboot boot boot.img
Then it kept rebooting into recovery
After panicking a few times, I used Hasoon2000's allinonekit to flash stock recovery, stock kernel, relocked and reunlocked bootloader, factory reset through hboot.
Now im in a bootloop but instead of the usual htc with beats that i usually get, a simple logo featuring the word "android" is all that showed up on my screen. Sometime when I restart it would show a harddisk or something like that with a green refresh logo. In cwm my phone can't detect my sd so I can't flash my nandroid backup.
Can someone help this noob
Boot into fastboot.
First turn on the phone.
Hold both Power and Volume Down until the screen turns black, after two seconds release the power button only, it should boot you into fastboot, you can also try just holding both buttons, not sure about that so if it won't boot into fastboot try both ways!
When it boots into fastboot, open up command prompt and execute the command fastboot erase cache, this should make you able to boot into recovery again.
Good luck!
I can access recovery now. The problem now is the android bootloops

Do you have any ROMS on your SDCard?
If you do, follow these steps please!
First of all, find the boot.img of the ROM you have on your SDCard, do this by downloading the ROM to your computer again and extracting the boot.img or using franco's or whatever other one there is.
Put the boot.img into the directory where your fastboot.exe is located, boot back into Fastboot and execute the following commands, fastboot flash boot boot.img and then fastboot erase cache.
Boot into recovery from fastboot, Wipe Data -> Wipe Cache, browse for the ROM and flash it, this should fix your phone!
I was running ARHD 6.1.1 before. but like I said in CWM it cant detect my sd,
it says there is no such file. any ideas?

Put phone into Fastboot and run following commands.
fastboot flash recovery r1--recovery-clockwork-touch-endeavoru.img
fastboot erase cache
Boot into recovery see if it recognizes the SD.
flashed that recovery, cleared the cache
when I went into recovery i chose zip from sdcard but then no files found
in Hboot it said SD checking...
failed to open usb master mode
failed to open usb master mode
only then would it show the options:
fastboot
recovery
factory reset
simlock
showbarcode

what is your recovery version? 5.8.4.0?
If you flash the latest recovery 5.8.4.0, then you should be able to view your SD Card and also infact,
if you go to ADVANCED Mode in the latest Recovery, connect the USB, it will detect your PC. Transfer the required files.
You have recovery now, try mounting the SD Card. Make sure you have enough charge ( >50%)
Please do not panic!
I will try that. Although i don't know how much battery I have left cause it suddenly turns on and bootloops after I charge for a particular amount of time
did you fix your phone now? if you fix pls mail [email protected] me cos we have same problem im using HOX stock " android logo "
even i put file on cwm 5.8.4.0 SD failed open master mode

Semi-bricked One X

Hy guys,
I have a international rooted One X. I decided to switch to a non sense ROM so I flashed Cyanogen 10 on it and now I'm having major problems...after I flashed it, I was stuck in a boot loop - the phone was constantly restarting at the Cyanogen logo. I went to Hboot, and tried to go into recovery to flash something else, but when I clicked recovery, the phone restarted and Cyanogen was working This is the only way to enter Cyanogen now, as a normal reboot or shut down will just get me into the boot loop and I cannot enter recovery at all...also, the phone is not charging when its turned on/cyanogen running...only charges when its shut down...I have no ideea what the hell happened...fastboot is not really woking either, most of the time its just stuck at "waiting for phone" part.
Please help me
did you erroneously flash the boot.img to the recovery partition? that would be the only thing that would cause that i'd think..
i would retry the following.
fastboot flash recovery clockworkmod-5.8.4.0.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
with boot.img being the kernel provided with your cm10 rom and clockworkmod-5.8.4.0.img being the name of your CWM recovery image.
as for fastboot working intermittently I would check to make sure the cable is snugly plugged into the computer and try another cable if possible.

I have just overcome a similar problem myself.
Start over, and do factory reset (after nandroid). Then flash the latest clockwork recovery to your phone (CWR 5.8.4.0) using
"fastboot flash recovery <filename.zip>" in the command line
then, boot into recovery, insert usb cable and choose mount usb. simply drop CM rom zip file onto your phone form the PC.
then unmount, go back to recovery menu and select install zip from sd card, then choose your zip file. after this, select reboot system from recovery. it should work fine.
I think you may have acidentally installed the CM10 rom as recovery using the wrong syntax in fastboot.
Hope that helps
Thx for the reply's, unfortunately whenever i try to flash something using fastboot, i get "error: cannot load imagename.img". Only the erase cache command works...
Fixed it using fastbootflasher!

[Q] please help to unbrick my HOX

Hello, i just messed up with my Htc One X, I want to flash the ARHD 10.6 but i got bootloop, then i tried to restore from my back up but i don;t know why everything is fone in my sd card. I tried to go back to stock with RUU. My cid is HTC__203, so i tried to flash with the
Europe 2.17.401.2 HTC - but it keeps show signature error 132.
I don't know what to do, then my brother change my hboot to 1.28
Does someone has an idea please? I am really desperate. It is forever bricked? thank you
get into fastboot and check are you locked or unlocked ?
I already unlock it and to flash ruu i relock it
- Unlock it
- Flash the latest recovery "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
- Extract boot.img from the Rom.zip you want to flash (preferably a jellybean rom)
- "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
- "fastboot erase cache"
- Boot into recovery and flash the ROM.zip
edit: you might try flashing the boot.img from ARHD 10.6 and fastboot erase cache and see if it boots
The problem is i can't get access to my phone. It get stuck to the screen with htc logo and there is nothing on my sd card right now. I tried to push file via adb but it also show no result
turn it off (long press the power button) then turn it on to fastboot, flash the boot.img and erase cache
I tried, i keep havin the bootloop(
Just hold the power button and volume down until it goes to bootloader.
Yes, I did go to bootloader, erase cache and flash the boot.img, but I'm havin the sam issue
Reflash recovery in fastboot, boot up recovery, usb mount, put firmware on and flash it. Then flash boot.img again in fastboot. That works, and if not, YOU are doing something wrong.

[Q] Bootloop, Battery Drained

Hi Guys,
I tried putting in a new ROM for my HTC ONE X International (HBOOT 1.33) and this problem came up.
1. Phone is stuck in bootloop. Whenever I try to turn it off, it automatically reboots
2. Battery drain because of bootloop, doesn't charge.
3. I can enter HBOOT but encounters the following issue
- Trying to enter recovery leads to rebooting and continuing the bootloop
- Trying to factory reset leads to rebooting and continuing the bootloop
4. Computer cannot detect the device since it never goes past the HTC load screen
I really appreciate any help you guys can provide.
Thank you
Did you flash the boot.img? You need to do it through fastboot: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Do a "fastboot erase cache" afterwards.
Also, which ROM were you flashing?
Sent from my One X
What recovery are you using? Try to flash the latest CWM from here http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
it lets you charge when in recovery.
In order to flash it I had to have fastboot open and ready in the command window with the command to flash already typed in, then it was just a matter of timing->as soon as you go from Hboot to fastboot press enter.
Once you have access to the recovery you should be able to confirm your Hboot version and workout what needs to be done from there (ie flash the appropriate boot.img, or recovery from nandroid backup, run an RUU, or who knows what).

I was flashing OrDroidX 1.3.2. How can I flashboot if my device isn't recognized by my computer when I plug it in? (Sorry it's my first time) Also, my battery doesn't seem to be charging when it's off.
You need to be in fastboot mode. It should say fastboot in your bootloader menu, select it using hardware buttons. On the scree you should see
FASTBOOT USB
Then fastboot should work OK.
Check connection by doing
Code:
fastboot devices
If your battery voltage is really low, check out this script. It will start rebooting the phone and eventually battery will charge.

How do I do this if my computer won't recognize the phone when I plug it into my computer? Thanks

Simple issue, cannot flash recovery.img file HTC One X

As title says, in last steps after unlocking device but won't let me flash "recovery.img" file
error: cannot load 'recovery.img': Unknown error is what it keeps showing me. Tried erasing cache already as well to no avail
Is the name of the recovery file recovery.img? Have you put the recovery.img file in your fastboot folder?
Make sure you enable extensions on filenames in windows before renaming a recovery to recovery.img because it will be named recovery.img.img !
Got that issue fixed but now when I try to boot the phone into recovery it just black screens me then normal boots back to the main screen. It's the latest version of cwm, but I couldn't get twrp to boot up either. So strange because I didn't really run into much trouble rooting my HTC One so I'm feeling really silly that I can't figure out what the issue here is. :'(

sorry for the late reply just got home from work not too long ago, tried that and it starts like its going to boot into recovery and stays on the HTC screen for about 20 seconds then, goes to black and reboots back normally again. Think I need to just reinstall clockwork recovery again?

try naming the file recovery, delete the .img part, then type into cmd : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
might not work but worked for me
