[Q] Flashing Modems... - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So when is it best time to wipe before or after flashing a modem?? just would like to be sure b4 I flash the latest radios
Thanks
Michael.

Just flash em through Rom manager. It will have wipe dalvik cache ticked. I always run Cachemate and fast reboot after.

Before and After don't hurt

Don't wipe anything for a modem flash. Totally unnecessary.

If you flash a new nightly, you don't have to wipe anything. You can wipe the cache and dalvik if you want, but you really don't need to.
thank man

Never a problem.
Remember the golden rule: Before flashing "ANYTHING", be sure to wipe at least the cache & dalvik. Doing so can help prevent unnecessary troubleshooting.

CM 7 Flash problems

Everytime I flash cm 7 I get to the screen where it says to touch the android to begin. Then it just keeps rebooting over and over. I then have to do a battery pull and restore back to cm6.
I have tried both RA and clockwork recovery. Did a full wipe everytime. Tried booting all of the versions of cm7. Any other ideas?

You have the right GApps? I've heard, if not, some have gotten boot loops.

Do a full wipe: wipe factory/data, cache, dalvik.
Flash CM7 along with those gapps. You need to wipe the cache and dalvik before you flash the gapps; then reboot.
Not that I doubt the all knowing Roxxorz but is that usually suggested? Don't think I've ever wiped before flashing GApps in the same session .... ?

Did what Roxxorz said and worked perfect. Don't know if wiping between did anything since I did it at the same time as flashing with the new gapps. Thanks guys.

Reflashing the same rom

If i reflash the same rom on top of the other do i have to perform a wipe? And if i dont do a wipe will i lose my apps and data during the process?

No wipe would be needed and your data would be safe. I'd recommended wiping cache/dalvik as well.

Flashed Infamous got bootloops.

Noob question here im sorry. i just got the tmobile gs2. it was already rooted and had cwm, so i got home downloaded infamous excited to flash it. I went to cwm wiped everything flashed and got bootloops. did I do something wrong?
Did you use darkside superwipe before flashing?
And try darkside cache wipe after you flash the rom.
Please give steps on exactly what you did so we can pinpoint where the issue is. I have flashed this rom many times over and never been on a boot loop.

Exactly what I did was, put the rom on my internal sd boot to cwm, the I wiped data, cache and dalvik. Then flashed the rom. It said it was all good so I rebooted and got boot bootloops. It goes to the Samsung screen then shows the infamous boot screen and keeps looping those.

I always have this issue. Wiping everything in cwm solves it for me

Do a nandroid. Install darkside super wipe and darkside cache wipe. Install ur rom ,super wipe, flash rom, let it sit for at least 5 minutes. Reboot and darkside cache wipe. Should boot as supposed to.
