I want to get back to factory settings.
I have alpharev, custom rom, clockwork recovery, and the sim unlock-utility (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943726)
Yesterday I used the WWE 2.3 android RUU, but I want the cellphone back to original state.
It was originally an:
bravo pvt4 ship s-on
hboot-0.93.0001
microp-051d
touch panel-symw0101
radio-5.11.05.27
But now I want back to completely stock, so any idea what to do? (s-on, unroot, etc.)
I did use the downgrader from alpharev, so now its s-on. But how do I get the original hboot and radio?
If you ran 2.3 ruu over downgrade you have it all stock, I don't know what yoj want more.

Ok. I thought it had to be the same radio and hboot etc, as when it was new, to not loose the warranty..?
OR else I thought only the updates on htc.com was seen as "official" and under warranty, all the others were unsupported, but it may only be in my head.
I don't find the RUU for my region, so if I used the WWE 2.3 update I have not void any warranty?

Hi all, so the US Cellular RUU is out and that is cool. I have a broken Desire that I would like to get fixed under warranty. I flashed the RUU and it un-rooted my phone but the bootloader still shows that the security flag is off (S-OFF). Is there a way to set S-ON? I rooted and set S-OFF via unrevoked. On their page is has said that S-ON is coming soon - but it has said that for a long time. I also have another working Desire so I can get anything off of that if needed.
Thanks,
Pete
I am technically inclined so I will try pretty much anything to get this thing setup with the security flag on again.
A way to contact the unrevoked team?
Anyone know how to contact team unrevoked? I am just wondering how soon the 'coming soon' is for S-ON for the CDMA Deisre. Thanks in advance..
I just attempted to set s-on for my CDMA Desire with the unrevoked-forever-son.zip. It errored out with an incorrect radio message. Is there a way to set s-on for my BravoC Desire? Wondering if there is a radio I can use?
Don't think you can get S-ON again at the moment, you can go back to stock ROM-wise with the new RUU

This is exactly correct - I flashed the Alltel RUU that downgraded my radio to a version that unrevoked-forever-son.zip is compatible with. I attempted to run the update from within recovery and it gracefully told me my device was not supported. So I am on to waiting for unrevoked to add s-on support for the CDMA Desire.
I'm waiting for S-ON too. S-OFF broke my MMS (maybe s-on will fix it) but I need to take it back to bluegrass.
Hey Guys,
I've got an HTC Desire, from 3 - it came with all the Three UK stuff on it (like the boot screen etc), but I rooted it, and flashed it with OXYGEN MOD, the latest one...but I'm now sending my phone in for a small repair job, and need to reflash it to stock.
I've made the goldcard etc, and am trying to flash it with an RUU H3G_UK rom, which I downloaded (RUU_Bravo_H3G_UK_1.22.771.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127568_signed.exe). However, when I try to update it using PB99IMG.zip method, it says:
Code:
'Main Version is older!'
'Update Fail!'
'Do you want to reboot device?'
'<VOL UP> Yes'
'<VOL DOWN> No'
Any ideas as to what I should do?
Cheers. Phil.
Oh, and I thought I should post this too:
Code:
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.00001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-5.11.05.14

Yep this happens because you will not be able to downgrade the hboot with this official update, and because it is an old 3 rom, it contains an old bootloader.
You will either have to find a newer 3 rom with something like 0.93 bootloader or a newer wwe rom(3/htc won't care).
You might also be able to somehow flash an older bootloader using an s-off bootloader and fastboot, and then run the update afterwards, but that is way too complicated.
Which part of this?:
Code:
RUU_Bravo_H3G_UK_1.22.771.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127568_signed.exe
...contains the HBOOT version?
It doesn't, but the branded official roms are always that old, and as the rom version is 1.xx i know it is an android 2.1 rom, which means hboot 0.75 or 0.80.
Also your error message state the problem quite clearly.
And to clarify my last answer.. No you will not be able to find a 3 branded rom with a 0.93 hboot, so go for a wwe instead.
What about this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256
Don't use that - your Desire didn't come on that 3 UK RUU so no idea how it'll behave as you have a PVT4 Desire
There isn't a newer RUU and those old ones are for AMOLED Desire's only - you're kinda stuck
That might and might not work. It depends on the hboot included. The topic you link to uses a hboot version 0.83, because it works with all slcd phones as well. So if the 3 ruu contains 0.83 as well, this should work, and if it doesn't, you wont be able to install it anyway.
Now for gods sake please listen to me when i tell you that neither 3 nor htc will care whether your phone contains a branded rom.. They might not even care if it is rooted. So please just flash the damn wwe 2.2 rom...
My last post in here i think you get what i think you should do and i cant/wont help you risking doing something stupid.
Good news fellows
I flashed it using this:
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed
and it worked no problem, I'm now back running Froyo 2.2 woop. cheers!
Hi all,
I've never rooted or made a goldcard for my desire, but I upgraded to 2.3 using the RUU and was so pleased with the de-branding I wanted to unlock it too...
I tried to use this utility http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16227825#post16227825 but it didn't work with HBOOT 1.02.0001 and RADIO-5.17.05.23
I tried to use the original RUUs to downgrade my phone, but it doesn't work and I get loads of different errors with different RUUs like 131, 140, 130 etc... basically telling me the carrier ID is incorrect or the RUU is the wrong version.
Is there a way I can restore an older ROM and HBOOT to be able to use the unlock utility?
Sorry, but at the moment there is no way to do what you want. But I am pretty sure there will be very soon.

In short: No
Longer: It MAY emerge as developers go to work on the update, but as you must have read when you ran the update there is no way back that is supported by hTC, and s-off or any kind of root will not work so far. The best you can do is to wait.

Thanks guys... no, I skipped reading that part but I was hoping the latter might be possible nevermind... I don't need it unlocked yet anyway still have a few months in this contract...
Will I at least be able to pay t-mobile to give me a working unlock code? - or will the new HBOOT have changed the code or something? lol
I plan to keep this phone for a while when it's out of contract... at least until the next generation come out that have a 2ghz quad core
It is taking longer than expected. Is any one able to root the HTC desire with Gingerbread RUU Update.
Desperately waiting root. Requesting developers to help several people like me to root the desire.
I did not read the warning too...

I have a HTC Desire (Bravo), rooted and running CyanogeMod 7.1:
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.11.05.27
I understand there are several threads about restoring, but I am wondering about these specific versions and S-ON. Can anyone please advise is it safe to use
PB99IMG_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.zip
to restore to stock? Can I just copy it as PB99IMG.zip on a SD card, hold down and flash via HBOOT?
I am sincerely grateful for any help!
Hello! to revert your phone back to stock you need the RUU, you can grab the HTC desire android 2.3 ruu here:http://htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
Unzip it, run the program, follow the instructions and BANG your s-on no root total stock htc desire
Use the latest 2.2 RUU instead of the 2.3 DEVELOPER RUU, because aside having 127MB internal memory it brings nothing much more.

Pick up a 2.2 RUU, because the 2.3 RUU for Desire is without warranty.
Actually HTC honour warranty on 2.3

But maybe you´re right
Hi there. Similar - but different - question. Water damage. Phone went to insurers. They fixed it and sent it back 8 weeks ago. I downloaded and installed 2.3 from htcdev. Seemed to work ok for some weeks. Now battery almost useless....it runs out in less than half a day. It was fine before it went. I can't start camera app or camcorderor any camera-dependent apps. I also dont see charging light when phone connected. Question(s) is do you think it's the 2.3 update or is it symptoms of previous damage - water? Should I roll back update or would the insurers accept it with 2.3? If htc accept 2.3 then insurer should too no?
Oh and to roll back to 2.2 can I just flash stock 2.2 WWE? Unlocked unbranded Desire
Charging light work when phone off? If not, hardware

I have tried to run the program and i seems to work untill it's waiting for the bootloader. It keeps saying waiting for bootloader and after a while my phone just reboots and comes with an USB connection error. Can somebody help me ?
Yes, my guide
Sending back my Desire to HTC for repair due to constant rebooting issues. Wanted to put stock ROM back on, unroot and S-ON it but somehow managed to be a total retard and just ran the RUU relevant to my phone. Having rooted it and going through several custom ROMs previously (most recently supreme1.2), I am disappointed that I didn't use my brain in this case, and now I have to salvage it.
So. My Desire.
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-4.06.00.02_2
I can boot into either HBOOT or FASTBOOT, however it will not boot into recovery. I have used both methods listed for S-OFF in [2]: ADVANCED BOOT PROBLEMS in bortak's troubleshooting thread (why didn't I start by reading the forums!), both claiming to be successful, however I still cannot boot into recovery.
I would very much appreciate any help. I am hoping that the fact I can boot to FASTBOOT of HBOOT will allow me to somehow fix this, but so far I have been unable to work out how.
I understand I am worthy of flaming heavily right now, so do knock yourselves out, as long as someone has a suggestion for me...

I was looking at running the downgrader but hadn't gotten round to it yet. I will give that a go. Is the 2.3 RUU you mention available on shippedroms do you know?
Yes it is, but I heard a few problems that people had with version from shipped roms. In my signature you have the explanation how to get it from htcdev.
Yeah, I did those things and I now have a fully functional unrooted s-on desire, that crashes intermittently all the freaking time. Just like before!
Gonna send it back to HTC, wasn't keen on this line of the email they sent me "Bear in mind though, should our engineers determine that the fault you are experiencing is caused by physical damage, wear and tear or illegal software, it will not be covered by warranty." mind.
We shall see what happens. Thanks for the help though.
Don't worry, I sent mine 2 week ago, but because of buttons. I just flashed 2.3 with downgrader, got s-on, and got my phone repaired in warranty.

You only use downgrader if you have oxygen r2 or cm7r2 hboots.. or am I missing something?

If you have Alpharev or Revolutionary hboot with stock partition layout it is write protected and if you run ruu you will have your phine working properly but you will still have the same hboot and s-off, also the radio won't be overwritten.
So, if you're sending your phone to HTC with warranty s-on is inevitable.
