[KERNEL][TW] Stock JB leak & official kernels v3 [11/16/2012] - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

These are CWM flashable zips of the stock TW JB kernels...
I made these so users don't have to reflash their whole rom.
These will possibly work with any of the other JB leaks. (I know UVLI6 can use UVLI7 kernel & vise-versa)
Enjoy!

*More coming soon...
*Note: v2 of these kernels fixes the wifi issue so you can easily switch between kernels.
*Note: v3 of these kernels removes KTweaker.apk for you to make your life that much easier.
*Donations aren't required or even expected but, a simple "thanks" works well.

Thanks

Possibly... If it's a kernel related issue. These JB kernels are compatible with each other. So just nandroid and give it a try.

They are just the stock kernels. No extra features are added in. Its for the people who uses ktoonsez kernel and want to switch back without reflashing their whole ROM.

They are totally stock kernels. Mostly for people who flash a custom kernel then want to return to stock kernel without having to flash their ROM all over again.

Thanks for posting these and wish there were more tw custom kernela to play with.

[KERNEL] Stock T999UVALEM Insecure/Secure W/Libs Fix ! [CWM]

Saw the need for a flashable stock kernel, so here it is in both varieties.
Here you can find rooted/stock kernels for T-MOBILE 's USA version of Galaxy S III (SGH-T999).
This WILL NOT raise your custom binary counter.
-Insecure Means that adb daemon on phone is working as root.
-Secured is the way it came from sammy, no root access on adb.
If you need more answers on what an insecure kernel is, use GOOGLE.

Instructions:
-Flash thru CWM

I need a link to the stock kernel, unsecured is fine. All you have to do is flash the wifi library files after you flash the kernel.
Please can someone link me to the stock kernel? I'll go find the library files.
I follow directions in this post and wi-fi worked for me on stock insecure kernel.

[Q] What kernel for my SGS3?

Ok so Im a little new to this hole rooting and flashing stuff and I've been reading around that the Ktoonsez KT747 Kernel has amazing battery life, even if you OC. So with this being said, im currently running SlimBean 2.7 but it doesn't say anywhere if it will support this kernel. Also can't find on Ktoonsez thread either. Maybe its me im blind when it comes to finding stuff. Thanks for help! If its necessary, I wouldnt mind flashing the CM10 M2.

Well i just loaded the jellybean 10.9.2012 and it wouldn't boot like it should so ima try a different one if i can get it to boot
[FIXED] I flashed the wrong one i did the one said above instead of the one that had the att in the name of the kernel, so its flashed and booted so i will get back with you to tell you how it goes.
[WORKS] It works like a charm thanks for all of the help.
Try this kernel http://goo.im/devs/imoseyon/d2att/lk_aosp_jb_tmo-v1.4.zip
It's imoseyons kernel. He is an amazing dev. I only use this. I have used ktoonez idk why I don't use it all the time. It says this kernel is for tmo the but trust me it works the same. He is a modified version of interactive designed for the s3. I get EXTREMELY great battery life. Go over to original dev thread over in the tmobile thread and look for lean kernel.
Use the kernel I included only if your on a jelly Bean rom.
Transmitted from my GALAXYSIII running Jelly Bean. XDA premium
KT747 can be found HERE, in the Original Development forum. There are variants of the kernel that will work for several current versions of Android.

Stock AT&T Kernel - includes root and the default BT and WIFI drivers....just in case . Alternatively, you can simply backup the /system/lib/modules folder which contains these drivers.

[Q] Can't flash KT747 kernel on Slim Bean Rom?

I'm running Slim Bean 3.1.0 on my SGS3. Recently, I've been trying to flash the AGAT and KT747 kernels on my phone, but with no success.
I've tried flashing kernel, wipe cache/dalvik, rebooting, and then installing the Slim Rom file over it.
Anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong?

98% Sure you are trying to mix an AOSP based ROM with a TW (Stock) type Kernel. That doesn't typically work. There is an option for the AOSP version of Ktoonsez kernel though that _should_ be a better fit with that ROM.
Have fun and continue to read up *Grin*
The thing is, I'm almost positive I downloaded the AOSP version for the KT747 kernel

That's a good start, the AGAT says LJ7 based in the Post, leading one to believe it is for TW ROMS. And on the Ktoonsez it does have a download link for either TW or AOSP. One you are looking for should be named "KT747-Kernel-AOSP-JB-SPR-12-11-2012.zip". Verify that and speak up again if you are still having issues.
Yes, I'm certain that was the file I flashed, because I remembered noting that the file was 7.72MB prior to downloading.
Also, I'm sure that the Slim Rom is compatible with the KT747 kernel because several posts were made on the thread saying that
the battery life was amazing, which made me wonder if I was doing something wrong.

Reading your original post, The order should go 1) ROM then 2) Kernel ... Then Wiping Cache and Dalvik-Cache (And other wipes if needed). Reason for this is if you flash the Kernel first, then the Rom you are over writing the custom Kernel with whatever is packaged with the ROM.
That is the only other obvious thing I see at this point. Hope that helps..

See that now, thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.
Please report back on how you like it, and if you really notice any differences.
It dropped 1% in approximately 30 minutes, half of the time the screen was just on, other half I left it on my desk (all while connected to Wifi).
My settings are 96/1998 on ktoonservative.
In my opinion, so far its amazing as compared to other AOSP roms I've tried.

Sure! When I run Jellyverse (I constantly switch Roms) I flash the S Voice Mod, FL16 All in one mod, 13 toggles by _dan, and Jellyverse Kobridge Tweaks 4.2A.Those are the mods I like to use but there are others that TDunham has made (which are great) but I don't use them. A few things to keep in mind though: since you're on the rom already, you'll need to flash the FL16 AGAT Recovery http://d-h.st/RSt with Mobile Odin and then go into recovery, flash the mods, and then flash the stock FL16 kernel http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.p... (SPH-D710)/Kernels/Stock (TW) Kernels/JB/ZIP Also, if you use Kobridge's Tweaks, he recommends to not use any battery saving apps along with it. After this, you'll be good to go :good:

Yeah you can use the GA10 kernel. Kobridge's Tweaks do a lot of things to save battery once your screen is off and there's nothing required on your part, once you flash the version you want, they start working immediately. I like the Aggressive Tweaks since they're the most battery saving of all of K's Tweaks (4.2A) Hope this helps

it better be touchwiz and be for this device.. LoL I dont know for sure but I bet Jedi would work or faux's kernel... no guarantees though, wait for someone to answer that knows LoL or google it... I never have played around with telus ROMs and TMO kernels together... it should work but again not sure. if you test it let us know the result.

On ICS they would generally mess up the auto rotation, but work otherwise.
Rushing, thanks a lot for this, will be flashing soon.
Any indication the new infamous wipes are needed for flashing the telus 4.1.2? (versus TMo?)

Thanks Rushing. Been waiting to try this, but didn't want to have to go through Kies or ODIN and reroot. Knew someone would come through.
Thanks, a lot. Maybe people can use the telus one for the base of their ROMs now. It's clean of bloat, tethering is native so you don't have to mess around, etc. I mean it's pure TW. I know most custom ROMs are debloated. But where TMO is concerned it can never be clean enough.

I agree, but TMO has wifi calling so that base is quite popular, but I am sure there will be a nice custom telus rom eventually.
