[Q] Wifi Direct Issue between two S3's, not sending - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Has anybody gotten the wifi direct to fully work between two S3's? I can easily get them to be in "connected" mode but when I'm trying to send a file like a picture or video I just get a message that says "Waiting to send" on the sending phone and no sort of message popping up or confirmation from the second phone. Note, I'm talking about wifi direct and not DLNA mode or NFC tap to send features. All those other modes work beautifully. This is a rom based on tw so it could be considered stock.

I don't have 2 S3's, but I have an S2 and an S3, and I was having this issue. I had to go into the settings on the S2, and I remember seeing something about letting it accept from any phone. I realize that's not much help, but make sure that you dig into the settings on both the sending phone and the receiving phone.

I am having the same issue with mine and my friend's verizon s3.. The specific problem I have is that I can't send anything with the wifi direct to the other phone but the other phone can send stuff to my phone. Both are connected but when I try to send something it says waiting to send files. There's no problem when I send files using the s beam where you need the wifi direct to the other phone and vice versa. I am running no trip lh2.

Please help

Has someone found a solution for this as I am having same problem since flashing jb firmware.

I have this problem. I restart both phones and it will work normally.
I actually have 3 phones (2 GS3 and Note 2). Sometimes two or all 3 just stubbornly refuses to connect or send anything but when rebooted they work fine.

Sprint Galaxy S III + Samsung AllShare Cast Wireless Hub not connecting?

Hello,
I received my Samsung AllShare Cast Wireless Hub last night and have been trying to spend all day getting it and my Sprint SG S III to connect, and I have not succeeded.
I have tried using the custom rom I use (Team Sonic JB) and also going back to full stock rom and stock recovery and also using the triangle remove to reset everything and I have not succeeded.
My phone each and every time see's the Samsung Wireless Hub (Dongle) and every time I try to connect to it, the phone message says's The AllShare Cast failed to connect.
Samsung support for this is not available until Monday so I wanted to ask here in case anyone might have some advice for me to try and fix this.
I also noticed that when I try to register this product, 1: The number it asks me for to register is not on this device (HEX/IMEI) like there is on the phone. 2: The model # on the device itself, when I type it into Samsung website, pulls up nothing. When I search for the device by name, I find it, but it has a totally different model #.
So I am looking for any and all help out there. I ordered this because of the Samsung %50 discount when I registered my SG S III phone but I am not happy atm since it is not working for me.
Thank you,
Whiteice
are you holding down the reset button until the light turns blue? If not it will fail every time. I run a stock rom and mine works.
As far as registration I have been trying to figure that out myself.
Yes I hold it down until it turns blue. Then once I let it go it starts to flash red.

So i just got off the phone with Samsung. RMA my unit.
The girl said they need to look into it because accessories are not allowed or eligible to register. Doesnt make sense to me.
I know the 3 support reps are doing there best but i really felt like they just disnt have a clue.

Mine works fine on the 3 and note 2. It may be defective. It should work first try.

I had to use triangle away to get mine to work. I was stuck at the black connecting screen.
after using the app, it has worked ever since with no problem.

I am using a custom roms on T-mobile's version Note 2 & S3 and both work as they should... You must have a bad unit for sure.... Once you get a replacement please report back? And I have never had to use Triangle Away to get mine to work and I have custom recovery and the works!

I received my RMA unit and I am having the same issue. It fails to connect.
I am running Team Sonic SG3 rom and have Triangle Away running.
Not sure what else to do at this point.

Make sure when you are trying to connect you have the hub light solid blue. Use the reset button until it is solid blue.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Tried this and still fails to connect.
Just wondering, is there any particular baseband/modem I should be running for this to sync?
I am on LJ7 with the TW Roms.
Thank you,

There's a firmware update on the phone today. You may want to check it out.

I finally got mine to work.
Connected from my 3S SCH-I535 (Verison)
Used [Root] Triangle to reset the counter number to 0
Connected to the AllShare Hub
Received a reject connection msg
Unable to reconnect. Msg said "Connection Failed"
Tried to connect by holding the reset button till it turned red, same failed msg every time.
Called Samsung - THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT THEIR DOING.
Finally just pressed and released the reset button, which turned the blinking red light to blue.
It connected.. and worked
Next time I connected it was back to the rejected connection message.
Found that if I have the display on during connection, it worked (mostly).
I'm using this hub in my car to connect to my Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS with App Radio. I wish there was a seemly way to connenct as I have to do a lot before I go anywhere
Change radio to the App mode
Say OK to several warning screens.
Use my phone to launch AllShare app and connect to hub.
Run the ARLiberator app and connect to the radio.
After all the connection are complete, I can drive off.

WiFi not connecting, reports two slow?

So this has happened to me at home and work but it's not consistent. Some times when I try to connect I get a message on the WiFi connect that says "Network disabled because Internet connection is slow" (see picture). Any idea what criteria is used to determine this, and is there a way to over ride it?
I'm at work right now and I just got kicked out wifi due to too slow lol.. but at home I have not got it yet.. maybe too much people at work using the wifi network. .
I setup my home network to have separated name (SSID) for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Network.
When I connect to the 2.4Ghz channel, no problem.
At the same distance, like 6 inches away from the router, when I connect to the 5Ghz channel, my 2 Galaxy Note 3 shows the same "network too slow" error and it will drop the connection.
This is one of the many reasons I returned my GSN 3
I also experienced another WiFi error.
At work, I can connect to the WiFi network with the WPA password provided, on my HTC One with no issue whatsoever.
When I tried to connect to the same network using the Note 3, it keeps telling me I have to "sign-in", when I click on the browser to "sign-in" (like those Free WiFi you can get at the hotel), there is no sign in page (because there is none) and brings me right to Google.com.
After that, the connection will last for 30 seconds or so and drop off.
The one I got initially and the replacement, both have the same issue, and I did inform T Mobile before I return them back.
4.3 problem? Samsung's problem? I don't know... All I know is I will wait until they resolve all these before I will reconsider getting this phone.
I spoke to them on same issue. Got new phone and they working on updating the WiFi drivers.
NOTE 3
Here is the fix for this it worked for me try this....
Go to wifi advanced settings lower left corner then uncheck auto network switch. Then check the box that pops up that says don't ask again. This should fix your wifi connecting issue...

So far yes. Not a 100% sure though because the problem was not consistent. Sometimes it would connect sometime give the message. So, I'll keep you posted if it comes back.
Not trying to say your post isn't serious enough but we all who are having this problem on a consistent basis need to make a thread about this and just not take anything for an answer, but to give people somewhere to complain about this & hopefully bring more attention to this because there is nothing that is fixing this issue. The only thing that will fix this is Samsung or a Dev on a custom ROM hopefully. If you uncheck the options in advanced settings, it just stops the pop up from coming up telling you the connection is to slow & dropping you, after unchecked it dont drop you but while still showing you a full connection it will not do anything data wise, connect to the internet, switch to a different site, no facebook, no twitter, no market etc..... Nothing, you dont get dropped you just cant do anything. I hope my anger dont make anyone think Im arguing with anyone in here and their opinions, we all have this problem and are trying to help eachother, im just poitning out that those who are thinking this is fixing things its not, its just stopping the pop up. I am very frustrated this is happening on a brand new phone i waited this long for and paid as much as i did for. There should be a freaking petition started for this cause its just wrong.
Works fine for me my wifi never disconnects now after unchecking auto network switch and always scanning... Idk what to tell you guys that are still having the issue because I had the same issue when I first got the phone too...
Maybe try forgetting the network then reconnect after unchecking those settings and reboot...

Not all phones are created equal. Samsung needs to change the wifi drivers on the phone or a dev needs to take note 2 drives and add them to a custom rom.

I posted this in a different forum also but figured id post it here to. I just got off the phone with Samsung & they told me its not a major reported problem, wtf, lol? Everyone i know who owns this phone has this problem with it sayin internet connection to slow and booting them off, even with full signal. Im on my 2nd phone now & have the same problem. They tried telling me to go in to the wifi call settings & turn off wifi calling preferred, & i said why? Even though it's checked I have it off. I said seriously? what is that going to do for a wifi signal problem, lol. It's not my wifi calling it's my full wifi signal. I can tell this is going to be a huge problem & im returning my phone, 3rd time now, for a new one today, if i get the same problem, almost positive i will, im sadly going to have to return this phone & just get a refund instead. & that would really suck. Maybe i'll try a black one, but im sure it probably happens on that one to, lol.
I have been having this problem also. Turning off "Auto network switch" in the advanced network settings allows the phone to hold on to the connection, but it is completely unstable. I tested the connection using iPerf and it was all over the place. I can post screenshots when I get home later if it helps anyone. Samsung definitely needs to step in here.

Samsung could careless about us. They sold the phone to TMOBILE not us. Or whatever ur using. Everyone needs to complain to the big 4 major company. Then if they get hit hard then they can light a fire under Samsung butt.

Email app send failure with wifi on, anyone else

So im not sure if this is a bug with my phone with verizon fios service, but if i try to send mail with wifi on im getting send failed all over the place. If i go back onto the sent folder on the individual failed email and turn off wifi, the email gets sent properly. Im wondering if anyone else has experienced this or knows a way to get the mail sent with wifi on?
Narrowed this bug down a little more. If you use the s pen, and i chose smart select or image clip, wifi turned on. Then i chose the share and try to send it out thru email. It takes a fee min and nothing. If i turn off wifi it says send fail of course. Then i turn off wifi and send it out over the data network and it works perfectly. I reported this to At&t. I only noticed this after trying to send out multiple emails and they all failed.
Just got off the phone with samsung tech support. Apparently good old [email protected] and other providers they claim are not allowing attachments such as those generated from the s pen to be sent thru wifi. Thenservice providers are forcing us to use the data connection to do this type of thing. She says with all their devices and her colleages they have the same ossue with trying to send stuff thru email while wifi is on. This is outrageous to me. It may be the last samsung phone i get. I dont want to be forced to use data connections when i have full access to wifi. And by the way she claims its happening with note 3 and other samsung devices. At least if they are going to cripple this type of send shpuldnt the software warn users to turn off wifi first instead of waiting 10 minutes while the sending email and my outbox had to finally time out with sent failed in notifications to realize to try it again with wifi off and woola ot worked.
Outrageous????? I think your being to nice! It should be completely ILLEGAL for providers to force you into data use while on wifi for anything! I just tried this as well and same results!

Note 3 USB / Android Auto fail.

Hey guys and gals,
I have tried multiple ROMs now, and am having the same problem with all of them. Whenever I connect my Note 3 to my car, I get a "This device does not support media function" error that I do not get with a stock ROM.
After a weeks worth of trial and error, the only thing I can come up with are USB incompatibility, or DRM? I have tried all the rom provided usb modes, with and without debugging enabled, still no luck. Anyone know a fix?
Using my wifes phone, I was able to confirm that the stock head unit works perfectly, so the issue is definitely with my phone/roms.
Currently running Phoresis v7 (which I love).
Here is a pic of said error
I fixed this the hard way :crying:

I'm not exactly sure what my problem was but I updated my phone via ODIN since I was on a beta software, reinstalled the AA app, removed my car from the settings in the app (reinstalling didn't delete it) and also toggle the setting for AA on my car's headunit and then it finally worked
