[Q] Htc One V Jellybean? - HTC One V

I bought a Htc One V a couple of days ago,and i was wondering if there is a possibility of rooting it and putting a custom rom with jellybean on it?

Yeah, take a look in the development section

I don't think so.. we are still on gingerbread, and will continue to do so.
Or why don't you take a look in the development section?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! This made me laugh very hard!!! Gingerbread? seriously? Htc One V came with ICS with sense as STOCK! Sense 4.0 with Android 4.0.4.
Gingerbread - 2.3
ICS - 4.0
JellyBean - 4.1
And yeah, CM10, AOKP and Paranoid Android 2.0 are based on Jellybean.

Could somebody maybe give me a link to the topic which explains on how to root my phone and a topic which has a working JB and custom rom?
And is there any stock rom maybe just for htc one v or are all of them just ported from another devices, cos i dont want to lose some of the phone`s funcions such as camera, wifi, sense, themes etc...

All questions asked in this thread can be answered by browsing around the One V section or by using the search function. Thread closed.

Yeh, maybe it was removed
Looks to have been deleted. All the notification email's I have go to a dead link . This is very strange. As long as I have been using custom ROM's (since the old WinMobile days) I have never had a thread just disappear. Sure, Dev's discontinue, and say they will no longer support a ROM, but to just delete the thread is strange, with no comment. It was such a promising ROM too.
Anyone remember who the DEV was so we can PM him and find out what happened?

Dear cmajewsk,
ymcc has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - [07/07/2012][ROM] A Taste of Sense / ICS - in the Desire HD Android Development forum of xda-developers.
This thread is located at:

Strange... the rom was based in ICS IceCold 8.2 and was supposed to be updated very soon.
I'm glad I'm not the only one going crazy.
no one know what's happened?
Android 4 Life
Maybe someone deleted the thread. It was an AOSP ROM with sense clock in it. It was not an actual sense ROM. So find existz AOSP ROM in inspire forum, install it, and install sense clock.
was very laggy on my DHD though. replaced it with XGS Series - not looking back
did we get an answer ... love the rom and was looking for any new tweaks??
where is this ROM???
This is f***g great ROM, I use it so far

It's not true.
You can never find a perfect ICS ROM. Just have to try them all, and find the one that suits your daily needs.

Why do you think so?
If you love the sense rom use: Infinity by virtous team
or no sense: aospx

Yes.

I think it was yes to the first part, the 720p seems to be a common problems amongst most ICS roms, sense and AOSP/AOKP

well..so far DHD hasn't got any stable ICS rom since the kernel 3 not released

Do you have an inspire? If so, then with some roms you may need to flash the inspiremod, sound fix, etc - there are many versions.
If you have a dhd, none that I know of.
No need to flash kernels unless you want to experiment a bit.

You probably already know this, perhaps he doesn't. Everything works fine with almost all the gb roms, the ics roms are a tad buggy.
Sent from a dream.
Anyone here flash IceColdSandwish 8.4 rom before ?
since this the most popular ICS rom for DHD at the moment .
but i have a few problem with navigation Apps (papago - sygic)
any one have this problem too ?
I think xgs from krisjanne is one of the best ics roms. A lot of options and very smooth. Lords Ics is also very good.

You have to take a few ICS roms out for a test drive. Remember that what is the best rom for one user may completely be hated by another. It all depend on your liking and what your looking to get out of it. All ICS roms have their minor issues if you mind dealing with them. As I may not mind a minor bug another user may consider it a total headache. No one here can tell you who is the best rom to use in the end it all comes down to you and what you think of them. Source codes are not released as of yet so ICS roms have minor bugs while Gingerbread roms are solid.
Read, read and read some more and enjoy the learning. We all been there and are still there.
Using aospX-1.0.0-BR4-DHD and it is working like a charm.
Thanks

Jelly bean custom ROMs are probably a month or 2 away, with an official release probably 3 or 4 months away.
Seeing as you asking on the HOX section of forums you're bound to get biased replies
Have to say I'm loving my HOX 100%, and would recommend it
Edit: when i say JB custom ROMs i mean sense based ones, there are already non sense based JB ROMs in original dev thread
Okey. I have got my hox now. And i would like to get jellybean without sense. Is there any good one like this that is stable.
Then i wonder if i use one of this roms, will i be getting updates automaticly.
Is it difficult to flash a new rom? I did it on my nexus.

Someone?

The most stable roms without Sense are probably well-known CyanogenMod series:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786696
If you mean OTA updates (over-the-air), I know only one ROM for HOX with OTA updates, which is viperX by Team Venom (which is Sense based).
Flashing ROMs isn't difficult process, it's actually pretty simple, but you should first unlock your bootloader and install custom recovery (unless you're lucky owner of S-OFF HOX). There are plenty of guides out there, but easiest method (for me) is this All-in-one Toolkit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604439
Okey thanks for this information, very helpful. Most of all i would like to wait for htc to make a upgrade ota. But i dont whant to wait forever. When do you think this will come
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
OTA updates depends on many things. I get OTA update to Android 4.0.4 and Sense 4.1 in the beginning of August and I've seen lot of confused people; most of them thought only AT&T HOX get 4.0.4 update, because they didn't.
It's up to you, if you unlock and root your phone. Personally I like modding my phones and I'm also enjoying root access. My first impulse to unlock&root my phone was because of Lucky Patcher (because I'm cheap bastard and I don't want to buy expensive apps from Google Play  ) Now I don't regret I've done it, because of all that awesome things I can do with my HOX now. (like flashing custom ROMs/kernels, using apps with root access and overall I can customize lot of things which I couldn't without it.)
Okey i understand, but if you would say. When do you think htc will upgrade to 4.1 jelly bean on one x?

Not familiar with Cyanogenmod

I've been following the development of Cyanogenmod 9 and 10 with growing interest and with the roms growing ever nearer to completion I was wondering if someone could tell me what the advantages are of Cyanogenmod 9 & 10 (other than being Jelly Bean).
What exactly are the advantages of CM over the Stock HTC roms?

That's how far my knowledge already went, I guess what I'm trying to figure out is, how does it compare to stock HTC on the One V? Faster/More stable? Any features that the stock lacks?
It can he a bit fester, because its missing the bloatware and ofcause its Vater because cm10 runs JB . And in asome Roms there are New tweaks linke the statusbar control.

Sense JB ROM?

Is anybody working on a sense JB based ROM at the moment or is there one out there that I may have missed that I can test run?

I don't think your supposed to post this here, but there is a post somewhere in the general section for One V talking about it.
On a side note: A lot of people, I believe at least, are waiting for it to be port to a device with a "not so different" screen then ours or more similar hardware.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1973270
Go there. Not possible without help from HTC though, I think.

HTC wont be releasing an official JB rom for the OneV but eventually, they will release something similar enough that we can port. We have no hardware limits, like the wildfire S does/did so the sky is totally our limit
The one x+ shipped with sense jellybean I will try to learn ROM porting this Christmas after I learn kernels

please, port the camera from sense!
I hate sense - it looks ugly and old fashioned! But the camera would be welcome.. I miss it.. the one on PA ( and I guess all JB roms) sucks..
