hey guys
okay for starters, I have looked almost everywhere for a solution and tried a lot of different things/files.
So my phone is the T-mobile HTC G2, It is un-rooted, S-ON, and I should be on the latest update of 2.3.4
I have never rooted it the whole time I had my phone (1 year+) and recently the phone froze, so I took out the battery, put it back in and powered it on. Resulted me in a boot loop. I cant get past my "Tmobile G2" screen.
When I go into HBOOT this is what it says:
VISION PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.82.0008
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.13.04.19_M
eMMC-BOOT
Apr 13 2011, 15:51:54
I have tried factory reset, cache clear, factory clear. Nothing works.
I have tried flashing stock or custom stable ROMS to see if it would get me out, but the stocks give me an error basically telling me my phone is already on the latest version And for custom roms, I get a "signature verification error"
I have tried some PC10IMG's but none of them actually go through and update my phone.
I honestly have no idea what to do, I just need a working phone, please help? :crying:

isn't that channel closed because perm root was found for the G2?
STILL NEED HELP WITH MY PROBLEM PLEASE
Well if you would go to the chanel you would know it isnt closed and you would get with your problem
Being you dont have root, you have a locked bootloader and you have tried the basics there isnt much that can be done here.
If you want to try some more, then go to the irc chat, if then well....

Ok, guys im in a bit of a pickle and I'm looking for a genius to help me fix the problem.
Firstly I just got my Evo4g yesterday, im no stranger to rooting and or unlocking but this time i'm stuck. I came straight here to get the root started. My evo is running 2.2 firmware stock. I went here and started the ball rollinghttp://www.thedroiddemos.com/2010/08/27/how-to-root-the-htc-evo-4g-with-froyo-2-2-video-walkthrough/
The first video went off without a hitch and I was feeling really good about everything, then tragedy struck. I followed the second video and during the PC36IMG.zip update I got a weird error.
First line it bypassed the bootloader and on the second line it said:
[2] Raidio_V2 FAIL-PU
everything else updated fine but after the reboot i can only access the bootloader or it goes straight to the red triangle. I've been up for 3 hours trying to correct this problem before I give up and try to get a new device.
A little more information in my bootloader it reads:
SUPERSONIC EVT2-3 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-2.02.0000
MICROP-041F
TOUCH PANEL-ATMELC03_16ac
RAIDIO-2.15.00.09.01
I've tried several things and none of them worked, I've even tried to flash the stock RUU.
If you've run into the same problem, please post here and maybe some of the genius's at XDA can brainstorm and keep this from happening to anyone else.
You have the new HBOOT here is a guide on how to root it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829045
My computer wont communicate with the phone because im in bootloader mode. How can I fix this?
Have you tried pulling the battery and restarting?

I did and it gave me the same error. I even tried different PC36IMG PACKAGES, still nothing.

You should be able to access recovery from booyloader screen on your phone. Use that to mount what you need and probably get the PC36IMG you need!

Hello, Having this WFS clogged with factory apps that leaves me with about 15MB of space is really annoying. I have tried multiple approaches to gain some control, but nothing has worked. Going to HTCDEV to unlock the boot-loader left me with a 130 error code, so I updated my drivers, sync and even installed the SDK and JDK files. Nope. Apparently my 2.3.4 version won't let me do any of it. I cannot even get to the flashing recovery step. Rooting and/or unlocking sounds nice, but I can't seem to even start either process. Can anyone give me some pointers in what to do to delete some of these factory apps? I have absolutely no control over my phone TIA.

I second that. There's a sticky with almost every important thread for the wfs linked at the top of the page. Recoveries/guides/kernels..... Something like that.

I think you should probably go to www.htcdev.com and use there unlock method. For what you want, its what you should do. I just reccomend this because soff can cause noobs problems, especially when SuperCID'd .... But i digress. htcdev allows for kernels roms recoveries and root
I wanted to root and flash my VM Wildfire S, now the only thing I can get after executing HBOOT Recovery or Factory Reset is white screen with HTC logo. How can I proceed.
Before I started the process, I had a LOCKED.
*** LOCKED ***
MARVEL C PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT- 1.10.0001
And, I have/had (?) Android 2.3.4
I successfully unlocked the bootloader using HTC Dev site/process. I validated that I had (and still have) "UNLOCKED" on HBOOT screen.
Being a noob, I was really happy with this result. In fact, I was so happy, I wanted to continue on to Root the phone. Upon hours of search in xda, I found "One Root for WFS 1.5", read the thread, and even watched the youtube vid- man, it looked easy!
Unfortunately, all did not go well. See attachment to get idea of what happened..
I am now at a softbrick (I think that is what it is called). I can get the HBOOT Menu, but when I try fastboot, I see things like:
PG76DIA.zip
no image or wrong file
PG76DIA.nbh
no image or wrong file
And, if I try HBOOT Recovery or Factory Reset, I get green HTC logo on white screen (I tried waiting 20min to see if it goes away, but didn't work). Did I mention being a noob?
I have spent many hours looking through this forum and others on how to fix. It seems sometimes they say RUU (this didn't work at all- I can turn phone on, but only see HBOOT screen). Others say, just flash another ROM. I don't think I flashed one, so it doesn't make sense.
Others say Recovery. I did not actually do a backup, but I think I understand that you can use a Recovery file to flash. That kind of makes sense.
And, frankly, now I am really confused. Seems some threads that look like they might work have dead links, or updated in Jan 2012 (I don't know if it is still valid).
Please help so my daughter stops laughing at me. Any help will be greatly appreciated (and thanked!)
Back from the dead, but...
Only 2 additional hours of searching and trying... and I got the phone to come back from the White Screen with green HTC. (Yes, my daughter stopped laughing)
I tried a couple of things, but this one worked (flashed Alquez's Unoffical 5.0.2.6 ClockworkMod recovery):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436501
I installed Rom Manager as suggested, but it wouldn't work ("an error occurred while trying to run privileged commands"). I am guessing that I am actually not rooted??
I am happy for now, but back to searching for next step, unless I can get a hint or two from this forum? please.
It would be best if you ask in the Wildfire S section. They might know more.

So around 2 weeks ago I was using my G2 at a McDonald's and all of a sudden it turned off . . . Long Story short, it's stuck on the HTC screen. I can access Bootloader but doing recovery or factory reset does not do anything. I cannot access adb but I can use fastboot

I also tried flashing several PC10IMG.zip files to no avail as each would end up with a "MAIN VERSION IS OLDER" error. I also made a GoldCard but have no idea how to properly apply it to the situation. Please I have spent 3 days working on this, I need help.
posting in more than one spot won't get you any more help, next time root your phone right away and many of these types of issues are easily fixed
you are unrooted and s-on so most things won't work
retry the goldcard and then follow the downgrade procedure found in setherios guide or the xda wiki on the vision
truthfully you may not have much of a chance here but if you want some real time help just log onto freenode and you'll know if you have a brick or not in no time
good luck!

It can allow you to downgrade to an exploitable hboot, thus is the first step in getting S-Off.

How do I do that? I'm sorry for being so nooby

Ive tried arroot and thats the same, fails on lots of lines.
Tried fastboot cmd with clockwork recovery but that fails sig.
Tried putting the PD98IMG.zip on sdcard and run update but then get E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command.

If something is failing is you...the Hack Kit works like charm....just read the OP and the effen manual and everything will work. If were already S-OFF then you wouldn't have to run the Kit.
Did you unlock the bootloader or anything similar, thats probably why it's failing, or your PC isn't ready to use AAHK yet, read the EFFEN MANUAL 5 times then go to tge IRC and ask there

GuyInTheCorner, if he is failing to read, as I am thinking he is (even the unlocked bootloader is covered in the manual) is useless for him to hit the IRC. As stated in the OP thread, the IRC is JUST for people who get stuck..not to are not willing to read and learn....in the end he will be kicked.
I appreciate that you are willing to help, but sending him over the IRC won't sort his issue. It is ok to point him in the right direction, but teach him to walk is way out of reach in this forums. As I always say, he has to read and learn, because is his phone the one that is about to be rooted and if he gets stuck or bricks it, nobody will care but him. So, he first needs to know what rooting involves for his devices....:good:
