This is how you make your phone look like windows 8
1) Launcher pro and desktop visualizer
2) Go into the launcher pro settings and make it be 5 rows and 4 columns
3) get windows 7 icons, I just used icon 7 https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsIm5ldC5zdWNrZ2EuaWNvbjciXQ..
4) Use desktop visualizer to make the icons
use 1x2 or 2x4 to make horizontal icons
use 1x1 or 2x2 to make the squares

Hi!
I've encountered a problem using transparent docks in Launcher Pro. I've created a dock which I want to be a bit transparent (like 90-95%). I've changed the opacity in Photoshop to the wished level, but when saved as a .png it is still solid, both in launcher pro and on quickview on my mac. Is there a way to adjust this? It looks to solid when used without transparency on my galaxy s. Also I don't think this can be solved by adding the dock to the wallpaper, since I want it to be scrollable and this would break the dock when skipping to the other homescreens.

I think that you should make transparency about 30-40% and when saving png to save it as interlaced. Not sure but I would try it like that, because I think that 95% transparent is almost like solid color.
EDIT: I also made some personal docks and had no problems with transparency (30-50%)

I use Launcher 7 and really like it but tile colors are not good yet.Only matte colors i have to choose how can i add glossy or metalic colors to this app?

no, just download the images you want to use for your apps.. and in the setting of launcher 7 you can choose the images.
i cant find that in Launcher 7 settings?

Im currently running Nova prime with minimal MIUI icons (will upload pic soon)
I like the look of some of the large rectangular metro style icons which I would like to apply to my setup. What program would be best to assign actions to the images?
I tried desktop virtualiser and it uploads the metro icons but they look pretty small and theres no option for resizing.
Any help would be appreciated
You should be able to change them using Nova.

What the guy ^ there said, plus if you use uccw you can use those images, the metro style images, as either a background or insert as an image, scale as you see fit, then add a hotspot over them and assign the click action to whatever you want. Uccw is my go to for creating anything custom

You need to choose different sized widgets when using Desktop Visualizer. The 1x1 SS one will look like a normal icon, BTW. I haven't used it for a while, but it should have worked.

Like many of us i have move to nova launcher with a set of custom icon.
So i was looking for a trick to get the same icon on the edge panel to match with the homescreen.
Sabeersas member have done an app WizIconizer which let you replace your icon easily of touchwiz launcher and side effect the icon on the edge panel of our note.

Works for me. I like it.
Galaxy icon themer also works. On play store by xperiacle. You need to reboot though for the change to take place in the edge. Main homescreen happens immediately.
Unicon works just fine... just reboot and it will apply to the system.
Edit: Now that 5.0.1 is out and we dont have xposed, I gave this app a try amd it is confirmed working on Lollipop!! XD

I'm after some icon pack suggestions please. All the ones I've found that look promising have a lot of icons missing and/or the masking function doesn't play well so you can tell that there missing. My favourite at the moment is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sikebo.immaterialis.icons

I have been using stealth icon pack since forever, and after trying out different packs always come back to this one. Perfect for dark backgrounds and oled displays.

Really nice colorful icons that work with the Pixel mods for stock launcher. Use it with the Pokemon background or something similar.
I've been using 2 different packs switching back and forth between ruggon and drawon they're pretty cool especially with pitch black wallpaper the colors are great
