How does it work cuz if i'm not mistaken :
Changelog:
-added sweep2wake (S2W) - based on bricked kernel for HTC One X
^^this is what i found in kiss kernel original post ,but can't figure out how it works
Can sum1 pleaseeeeee assist me ???
I hav one v GSM Sense or cm10 i jst want this thing
For me it worked straight away. All you should be doing is swiping your finger from left to right (display buttons) to unlock and vice versa to lock.
Swipe your finger from.left to right on the hardware button ( return, home, recent) to unlock the phone
From right to left you lock the phone ( goes to sleep mode)

Hi

:/
Guess I was not completely specific , the problem is I flash any of the avail.. kiss kernel lik :
With "preset" OC to 1.5GHz and UV
http://www.mediafire.com/?2cinepl7lqlju5v
etc.And swipe2unlock doesn't work (I flash using [TOOL]Easy Kernel-Recovery Flasher V1.0 )
:/
Did u flash the kernel correctly? Rename the kernel to boot.img then flash it.
If it still don't work, then flash it manually...
yea

Have not much time to write this thread...must go to bed (so for now only important things)..but
we know that s2w did not work correctly...but i dont want to miss this nice thing
i have compiled a kernel from 2.17 base and did nothing more as to add the s2w patches from showp1984 (PS ALL CREDITS TO HIM...)
and this time it works correct for me...no problems with sleep and not wake..
be sure you add those 2 lines in build.prob ( !!!important!!!)
Code:
pm.sleep_mode=0
power.saving.mode=0
you can do this with any explorer that have root rights

And i can almost swear the phone is faster now ! Maybe just my imagination!
How did you solve SoD an WLAN problems ?? I also have a kernel compiled from 2.17 online but it suffers from SoD, where is your github link ?
Cool, nice to see s2w properly working now, great work mate.

first, thank you for the work done, I tested your kernel, and indeed it seems that the problems have disappeared S2W time and works perfectly, however, I am having problems with the wifi, they either will not connect to the network , or switches on and off for no apparent reason, expecting some solution to this issue, many thanks again, by the way use the viperx 2.1.0

nice work alex:good:
was already on 2.17 so i repacked (viperx2.1.0)
flashed only the repacked boot.img
all is working fine so far
i always remove does lines ,whe will see what happens.. (maybe it works also without does lines)
one requist -> can you also put in the option to turn it off and on
so whe can turn it off and on with the app or in the tweaks option from viperx2.1.0
keep up the good work alex-v

I flashed both - boot and modules over Alex's one_X_sfied_1.3 rom. Tried reboot and another cache erasing but no success. After flashing back to faux, wifi has started working again.

Having the same problems with WIFI here, on ViperX 2.10.
Now trying Sebastiaan15 method with only flashing repacked boot.img after flashing original kernel and modules from 2.17 through Venom Flasher.
Repacked the boot.img with Nibble Online Repacker: http://nibble.cc/repack/.
Edit: everything seems to be working fine for me now. Now only have to wait if phone goes to deep sleep...

BIGNOTE: Green lens users who flashed redlens builds please dont try using flash, you will end up burning it like me and many others.
STEPS TO FOLLOW WHEN YOU HAVE BOOTLOOPS OR BLACK SCREEN WITH RED LED ON:
-1st of all set default boot to 2nd-boot
-Go to recovery and flash the 24.9 build
-Then flash the kernel 6.10
-After that flash the latest build
-Wait and you will have your phone working proper.

If your current kernel is 2.6.32.9-ge281b6e [email protected]#1 then the custom kernel won't boot. To get it boot, you need to flash the kernel shared by our friend. Post flashing your kernel should be 2.6.32.9-ge281b6e
[email protected]#1. Once this is confirmed go ahead and flash tbw custom kernel as defined in the first page. Should be good to go.

It means we could use custom kernels.
I think that a developer could even port 3.0.x kernel on defy, if everything 'll go fine.
We may get swap support!(many more things)
Swap is really imp for us since 512MB ram is not enough for jb
Hope Quarx gets it working
Also does kernel version really matter?
I mean if an older kernel is working perfectly and has all ROM features working, why not use that only(2.6.35)
Also I dont think Defy's hardware supports WifiDirect

so finally , can we think of DSSCOMP , ION and hwcomposer ?
i know it too early to ask this question
but m very eager to know the answer from quarx
So it means we will have in near future new kernels and possibilty to brick Defy completly ? Or still Defy will be unbrickable and with new kernel
wifibdirect is a sofrware thing, not hardware. the defy would be perfectly capable, but we couldnt load custom kernels (until now).

As far as I understand from this is, the bootloader is still the same, so you still always be able to resurrect your defy with the stock sbfs :cyclops:
Quarx, I can't believe you are just one person... I mean, the progress you've done on the Defy in such a short time is really amazing!!! If the custom kernel gets developed half fast the speed of your mods, our little phone will be a blast pretty soon!!!

Hi, i´ve installed SlimBean Build 5 on my HOX. i want to upgrade my kernel with a newer version. In settings it shows kernel-version 3.1.10n30kernel-v33. today i intalled v39 but it shows only v33. I used the howto from n3ocort3x but nothing works.
Please help me im a little bit confused
greetings from germany
The kernel is indeed v39.. neo just forgot to update the text I guess! Has happened before!
Please ask kernel related problems in the kernel thread from next time...
thanks, for your super fast response. but how can i use tab2wake instead swipe2wake.
greetings
Look in deviceoptions > DoubleTap2Wake. Check it!
i only found the sweep2wake settings
The slimbean ROM hasn't updated the GUI I guess... if you use the latest kernel then try to edit these files:
/sys/android_touch/s2w_allow_double_tap - 1
/sys/android_touch/s2w_double_tap_duration - 150
/sys/android_touch/s2w_double_tap_threshold - 500
thanks, i was read the entire n3o kernel thread and found the solution. one beer for your superb help :good:
nice to write with you again

To maximize the capabilities of kernels, flash:
UKM
install the Synapse app from the playstore,
and remove or disable Trickstermod, Faux control, or any in-ROM kernel control apps and settings.
there are some great AK and HD profiles on synapse for mako, which run well on gee too. check it here and here.
To import Synapse profiles
Download profile and save to the saved_profiles folder inside your Synapse folder.
Make sure you're using the latest UKM script
In Synapse, go to profiles
Select the profile, be sure to click the check mark on top and then select restore.
Restart Synapse
When it restarts, select the X, not the √.
Sometimes you have to restart synapaenagain to see updated CPU settings.

AWESOME
with those kernels being nexus 4 i understand that storage and camera (and who knows what else) wont work correctly right?
example storage will be smaller and camera wont have 13mpixel mode etc.
This are ported to Optimus G so it will work normally, and with stock camera driver.
It shouldn't work only on geeb that it's different, but for that i think JuatinXu as ported on other thread

Sorry, I never use it. Try by yourself.
OK here's a basic modified kernel for those using Android 6.0
I have been running and testing on unified AOSP builds , no idea about CM ( should boot though )
Not sure how far I will take this kernels development , for now I added the basics back .
This kernel should be flashed without any expectations , if it works great , if it bootloops , well , idk but it boots for me and thats where I'm leaving it at . I really dont want this thread turning into a feature request , or WTF my phone is broke thread , if it happens , I wont be around to deal with it . simple as that .
Anyways , as always , enjoy and profit

To be honest , nobody ever let me know this kernel was even working for anyone besides me . My gnex battery died a while ago , so I haven't done anything since . But I do plan on ordering a new battery sometime soon . It will be the fourth one to go along with the replaced soc and board lol . So maybe one day I'll have a new kernel for everyone .
I actually had it in service on Verizon for all of 48 hrs before the battery wouldn't hold a charge . Had it running the last factory image , su , bb , SmittyV kernel ? , made me smile for a half second before i wished I had grabbed a MM build lmao .
Hope everyone is well and as long as there are surviving gnex out there , I'll build kernels for it
